He's not grumpy in this one. He looks thoughtful and well....I miss the grump already ><

I really love both of those. The lighting on the second one is perfect, and I love the light spots in the background. Very city lights in the distance. Was that what you were going for?

There is a more intense feel to the first one that stands out more to me.

Because I'm proud of the look it got and want to know if my technique could improve...

Levi's rather urban, so, I try to make his banners suit the city life. So yeah! That was indeed the intention.
