The dice roller has been updated so that you can now choose to make your results public or private. If you select private, then only you and your opponent (if you name one) will see the results in the result table. Obviously any result marked as public will be accessible by everyone.

Any and all rolls done in a GMed event should be made public so that all those involved in the RP can see the result.

Note: All of the dice rolls that pre-dated this update have been set to private.

Two small updates:
  • The front page of the Properties page has been updated to include a list of all the private locations in the city that your character has been invited into.
  • The RP Dice Roller has been updated to add the option to make a roll for the Pull of the Abyss curse. Just select 'Pull of the Abyss' as your task, add in your reason for the roll, select 'public' or 'private' and roll the dice. Rolling a 1 means your character shouldn't be returning from the Shadow Realm.

Hacking raids have been made less common, and harder, as there have been 6 that have been completed in the past 3 days.

You can no longer hack while you are dead.

Also, co-ordinates are no longer available while you are dead.

Programming scripts now requires a minimum of 1 day to code it. This means that source codes can no longer reduce the time left to program a script below 1 day. However, we have compensated for this pretty big change by making it so that using source codes now expends 0 energy.

We are aware that this is going to upset quite a lot of people, but it just wasn't balanced or realistic the way it was. Please be patient with us while we see how this change affects the balance of things, as we might need to adjust programming scripts to give more exp as a result, a little later down the line.

Hacking while dead is possible again (due to popular demand), but it is now much harder. When dead, your hacking skill is automatically halved to reflect the fact that it is harder to establish a connection or concentrate while in the shadow realm, and dead.

Forum Rule 7 has now been updated. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the change, especially if you regularly post live RP transcripts.
[7] (Roleplayers) No spamming roleplay posts purely to get RPP.

Don't post gibberish in your roleplay, or we'll assume you're just doing it to earn EXP. If you're going to quote somebody use the ["quote"] tags provided. You aren't supposed to be earning RPP from OTHER people's writing, just your own. Live roleplay transcripts should only be posted if all those involved have given their permission to do so. All those involved in the live RP should post a proportionate amount of the log so that everyone gets an equal share of the RPP reward.

Raid floor spawning now comes in a much wider range of shapes and sizes. There are now a total of 20 different floor layouts (for each individual floor), as well as the usual door, item, trap and NPC randomisation.

This is in preparation for team raids, which should be finished soon. However, this will also make regular raids more interesting.

You can now sell karma at auction for any amount you wish.

You can still only set 10 karma for sale at once, for buy-now only, but it will now appear on your list of sellable items (under "all") and you can set your asking price as you would with any other item. Please note that the recommended auction price for 10 karma is still 30,000 in game dollars, but it's entirely up to you if you want to sell for more.

This update was made because people were simply doing deals off-auction and selling karma at escalated prices. This was making karma unavailable to those without many connections. This update should ensure that karma is more readily available, generally speaking, for those without the option to buy it with real money.

You can still only sell 100 karma per month, max. This cap will likely drop to 50 again once we have more players.

You can now delete your own businesses. The link to do so is on the business profile main page (before you click manage). Deleting a business sends out an alert to all staff.

Selling a business is not yet an option.
