Looking up at Doc as his hand slid into her, relaxing as she nodded slightly at his wink. If he was comfortable with the woman behind the bar, she trusted him in knowing that everything was kosher. Squeezing his hand in return, it was good that he was here and that he hadn't bailed, though if he had...she wasn't entirely sure that wouldn't follow him.

As Skylar responded, Lennox shook her head slightly and shrugged. "My bad. I saw that there was some thread for it on that website deal but I didn't want to ask and make me seem greedy when I could just kill assholes for them. Sorry. A swordsmith? You probably know what to do with the broken pieces that I keep finding. If you ever want those, let me know." When a quiz was mentioned, she shook her head. "I'd totally fail on the quiz. I really only know Doc in detail and even that's a guessing game." Lennox smirked up at him for a moment before she looked back at Skylar. "Thank you. Maybe you or Doc can tell me what I should be using later when it's not so busy. I don't want to hog all of your attention."

“A quiz? About you and Ric?” Doc made a face, “You are a braver couple than the ball and chain and I.” Then he canted his head to the left, “But then again.. we got bound for all the wrong reasons. It was a game of chicken that went way out of hand…She ******* hates me now.” He grinned at Skylar, not knowing the details of her and Ric’s marriage, he blithely continued, “But you two will do better than She and I ever did. We had some knock down drag out blood filled fights.” Doc grinned openly, then stopped suddenly.

“****.. it just dawned on me..” He looked at her pointedly, “You’re E’s spawn. The Ball and Chain is E’s too. That makes me your uncle-brother-in-law.” He laughed, “That is some fucked up ****.”

“Looks like its’ just us.” Pi answered him herself, pulling off her jacket and tossing it onto one of the bar chairs next to the pool table. She’d have rolled up her sleeves as well if she could but the shirt was silk and slinky and slinky silk no matter now much you may want to. Didn’t roll well.

It was an interesting mix of people, not many mingled. Given she now had something to keep her hands busy (as opposed to trying to continue on with the small talk) Pi crouched to pull the balls out of the hole in the table, lifting them into the triangular rack.

“You can break.” She offered as she popped the last ball in, positioned the triangle and lifted it. Turning she smiled over where Skylar was talking to Lennox. She heard her name mentioned and guns and figured that they were talking shop. But, well. She might not know everything about being social, but she could figure out all on her own that it wasn't okay to but in on a conversation happening on the other side of the room.

Looking around the room as Doc and Skylar conversed, trying to keep in mind who she knew and who she still technically needed to meet even though Doc had point them out. The moment that 'ball and chain' was mentioned, Doc instantly had her attention back as she laughed. "Oh my God! There really was a ball and chain. You have to tell me more!" She reached up and kissed him on the cheek. She sort of assumed Mortie but they didn't seem completely serious on a 'ball and chain' level so she wanted as much information as he was willing to give her. "Have I met her yet or is that even an option? Hell...do I even want to meet them if I haven't already?" She nudged him with her elbow and laughed. Lennox was highly amused and the more that she thought about it, the more it amused her. She cared for him but to know that he had it in him to sort of settle down even if it was a game of chicken, made her care for him all the more.

At Lennox nudge, exclamation and questions, he realized he let the cat out of the bag. He had told Lennox BT (also known as ‘before turning’) that all his girls had different mothers, and he and the BnC (Ball and Chain) were separated. Now she put two and two together and wanted more details. He gave her and ‘oops’ look.

“Yes.. there really is a Ball and Chain.” Doc raked a hand through his hair. “We really are separated.” He lowered his voice, and mostly whispered to Lennox the truth as he believed it. “She fucked my brother..” his tone of voice was disgusted, “her uncle.” He sighed, “Then she admitted that she ******* hated everything I cared deeply about.” He rubbed his forehead absently. “Her name is Cytherea. Haven’t seen her in months. Do not have a desire to either. Doubt you’ve met her. If you have.. lie to me and tell me you haven’t.”

Raising his voice a bit, he looked at Skylar and directed his comment to her, “Grandmother-mother-in-law, Uncle-brother-in-law, baby..” He couldn’t help grin at her, “Your in-laws make Jerry Springer look old fashioned.”

The look on Doc's face was priceless. "Don't give me that look. Secrets aren't secrets forever and hell...we get along famously...I would have found out eventually." As he explained to her, she listened to every bit of information that he offered her before smirking at his whispered words before shaking her head, whispering back to him. "Her loss really. Clearly opposites don't always attract and as I see it...that's a plus for you. You can hook up with someone that does actually see your point of view and share your passions."

Laughing once he raised his voice again. "Close...It's old fashioned if your Aunt is your Grandmother, Your Mother is your sister, your father is your husband and your Grandfather is your nephew." She snickered as her thoughts ran away from her at the possible combinations. Vampire life was fun and interesting. She loved it more and more each day.

Doc nodded and smirked at Skylar’s words. “You are more right than you know. Every experience we have.. makes us who we are. People that say ‘if only I could go back in time.. I would change xyz’; they are lying to themselves. Every hard, miserable, painful experience that we go through, makes us who we are -right now-.

“The Ball and Chain. As much as I ******* hate her, I like who I am at this point in time. I like that I have spawns..” He hooks his arm about Lennox once more. “I like that I have a faction I believe in. I like that I have this .. THIS life to live. Who is to say, that if I never bound myself to the BnC I would be where I am now?

“I can’t. For all I know I would be stuck in the SR too ******* addled to find myself out. For all the **** she caused in my life, there was good that came out of it. Same with my sire. I may not have liked how it came about… But I am here because of it. Can’t regret that.”
