I'm done.
He was done with the sleepless nights, the disappointment that plagued him. He had nothing to show the family Levesque. There were no leads and his hope was dwindling; he was tired of going around in circles and hitting dead ends.
He was done.
He tried. God knew he tried.
But Alex could only do so much.
He closed his laptop and sat it aside. So, looks like I'm unemployed. His beloved dog shuffled close and rested his heavy head on the man's thigh, as if he could sense his irritation. And like every pet, Hermes offered comfort, even if he didn't understand.
With his hand atop the pitbull's crown, Alex took up his phone and checked for any messages from the family he's served for so long. Nothing, huh… Must be some quiet days. Hope everything's okay. He exhaled and considered messaging them, but his finger hovered as hesitation struck him.
"**** it."
Hermes lifted his head.
"Yeah, you're right. I'm the big brother. I can't leave. What the hell was I thinking." He might have been out of a job, but he still had a family, and he could always try to establish another career. Then again, he wasn't a Canadian citizen, so landing a new, legal job could prove difficult.
And that brought forth another issue; if he didn't play his cards right, he could be deported.

"Maybe I should move back to the States." He glanced to Hermes and the dog looked up at him, his tail doing the bare minimum. "You're so expressive," he added with a tender smile, giving his good boy a scratch behind the ear. "I should stay, huh? Eloise would probably beat my *** and take full custody."[txt] so, i wanted to say that I've had no luck in finding anything on Noah. no leads, just circles. and I'm sorry about that.
