Well. I took a swipe at Bugmod:

Stepping out of the shadows, you lunge at BugMod with your sword, but they are too fast for you, and your sword merely scratches their cheek. The wound closes up almost instantly.

Glad I didn't swing for anyone else for the lulz eh!

Bought a Wooden Sword for Henry Craven and managed to equip it just fine.

So, my theory is that this is happening for 2011 accounts. Or at least really old accounts. >.>

sorry, Alex is a 2011 account.

Sounds like a bug but I'll need to test to be sure, I only have the water balloon canon on just Alex atm and that *did* work "The water bombs miss Kitty, but splash harmless passers-by. Jerk!" but I'll equip (or try to) the other two onto bugmod when I can and see what happens.

Bugmod will stay parked at 10,10 for anyone willing to test toy weapons! <3

It is, still totally unable to equip wooden sword or paintball gun. Have checked again directly before posting.

Lions, try equipping it and using it when you get the chance?

I've tried this on every character I own and it's all working fine, but I did find one thing slightly off in the database for yours and fixed it to match the others.

Still only allowing it to be equipped alongside a 'real' weapon and when using, it appears not to function and only attempts a hit with the 'real' weapon.

Okay, so I re-entered the weapons into your inventory. Everything is looking the exact same across all the codes in comparison to mine that own the weapons, as well as some of the others I've compared it to.

I'll leave Buggie at 7, -7 Cherrydale if you want to try and swat her, unless you have someone else to test it on nearby. :)
