0h 0m ago: Your business (This is a Test) earned $1087 profit today.

Popularity: 2
Staff Morale: 1

Today's Issue
" An expensive piece of equipment breaks down... "

The result was good! You didn't lose anything, but gained 125 exp.

(So no change from that to Rep/Pop)

P. S. It'll probably take at least a few days to see if the settings are paying out the right way.

I've found that things seem a bit off here and there here ... (and they are super f'd up for Jynx over at blood) ...with Suzette's she's been asked to lower her advertising twice in row on one of her businesses when for YEARS having it set to the radio option was golden...

and both Alex and Suz have had questions that used to get them the best results (+500) suddenly start resulting in the exact opposite, the worst results. (-500).

Suz has all the req stats set to the max's (Int and skill at 35's w/ buz and speechcraft skills at 25's) And Alex isn't far behind. (Int and Skill at 35 but Biz at 15 & speech at 13.)

I can share the business settings but where they've been have been good for years... except for that hiccup we had with a bug a year back or so when David added those debug messages which are still there. That was when it was said somewhere (I thought by you or David) that 4 employees was the 'magic' number, which I mentioned earilier in the thread.

4 Employees is the best to have when you have a business operating at around 100 rep/pop. If I'm remembering correctly, it's best to start with a small number of employees. What I did last time I had a business character was hire on a new employee at around 25 Rep/pop, 50 rep/pop and a final (4th) employee somewhere around 75 rep/pop. I'm planning to do the same with the test business to see how it pans out.

Does Suzette have max popularity? That might explain why the game thinks she should lower her advertising.

Though I agree, I've only ever set my advertising to radio for any of my characters because it allows for steady growth without costing tons.

I'm not sure about the daily business questions - I'd need to look at those individually.

As for today's test results:

0h 0m ago: Your business (This is a Test) earned $1212 profit today.

Popularity: 4
Staff Morale: 2

Today's Issue
" You have an opportunity to send your staff on a special training course... "

The result was great! You gained 1 reputation point and 143 exp.

End Result for day 2:

Popularity: 4
Staff Morale: 2

ETA: I'm bumping my stock quality from 'good' to 'excellent' to see if I can improve my reputation to be about in line with the popularity. It'll mean a hit to the profits now, but more even/faster growth I think.

Your reputation is climbing at an impressive rate. You should consider saving some money by lowering the quality of your goods.

Popularity: 6
Staff Morale: 3

" Your company premiss was vandalised late last night... "

The result was good! You didn't lose anything, but gained 142 exp.

So Rep/pop/morale remain the same.

Taking the game's advice and lowering quality of goods from 'excellent' to 'very good'. We'll see if rep/pop remain about the same.

XD At this point it's just a matter of fiddling with the settings to see what works best.

Popularity: 8
Staff Morale: 4

" You meet a business person at a party who could realistically help your company a great deal... "

The result was great! You gained $500 and 125 exp.

Not making any changes to settings today I think.

I haven't moved his business statistics from what Josh recommended.

The good news is that Henry's no longer working at a loss, but the profit is around $100 to $200.
The bad news is that the Rep and Pop have not budged, remaining at 4 and 0 respectively.

Staff morale is at 9, however.

Try dipping one lower in price and one higher in quality? You will probably end up with a loss again, but it might get rep/pop to move which will pay off long term.

Right now I have McTesty set at:

Wages - High
Quality - Very good
Prices - Insanely Cheap
Advertising - Local Radio

I have mirrored your McTesty’s results and will update ya’ll tomorrow. Fingers crossed this isn’t a bug, but thank you all for helping me!

0h 0m ago: Your business (Platinum Physio) earned $-272 profit today.

Also, his Popularity is still at 0. Reputation went to 5, but he just lost it on a business decision. :))
