Here is another one that is irksome to me ... and probably everyone else ... Crownet handles ... you cant quote anyone without having to go back and replace the name with the Crownet handle ... my memory i **** so half the time i have to go back and do it . Or have a mod ask me to do it then its like Grrr i dont have time for this crap . So there has to be a way we can get it so a Quote would have the Crownet handle instead of Character name. Im not good at this sort of thing with forums and such so any ideas ?

The karma shop sliders (similar to the three we have now) would have to be something reoccurring. So probably content stuff like raids, NPCs, loot, rituals, random events, ARES stories, business dilemmas, hacking systems and so on.

But as for one off updates that wouldn't be reoccurring things, I don't have a problem with people pooling karma manually and contacting me on PM to unlock practically any update you can think of, as long as it doesn't change the existing game too much, and as long as it fits cannon, etc. We can work out the amounts and details, if that's something people want.

I joined this game a few weeks ago and barely know what's going on. I'm still feeling my way around the forum and I'm a bit fuzzy on the etiquette for IC postings so at the moment I'm wary of venturing into it lest I get eaten.

As a new player, learning nuances like these, replacing the quote each and every time with a "crownet handle" you can't see from the posting page, or having to edit the name at all or face getting poked by a scurry moderator - I find this requirement incredibly off-putting. But, maybe I'm just a natural born scared-y cat.

I mean. I kind of agree, Banto.

Even as a moderator I don’t always remember to do it (especially mobile), so I have to go back and edit.

You won’t get into any trouble if you forget, so don’t worry about that, but I would like to see something implemented so we don’t have to worry about it at all.

Agreed.

& If the quote feature could be set to not automatically fill in any name at all I think that could take care of the problem.

Or... Here's a thought... have the ooc and ic boards have different skins? If you're looking at black on white it's ooc and if it's white on black it's ic?

If we have different skins for IC/OOC, I think it'd be wise to keep the black or equally dark background for both. Aside from people making their banners/avatars with that background in mind, it's also more user friendly for people who have issues with going between light and dark sites.

This totaly this ! it is off putting and hard for new people to the site to understand .... When this rule was made it was because a couple of Long term role players that have been rping for years got upset about IC and OOC and how their characters were portrayed on Crownet. I understand their reasoning just like i understand its hard for new rpers to understand the concept its hard enough understanding the Crownet concept and etiquette for a new comer. I think Alex's suggestion of it not putting a name on the Quote at all is the simplest and best suggestion
There is nothing to learn or be confused about if there simply isnt a name on the quote those that know the system and want the handles on there can go in and fill them in if they want to.

Thank you, that was exactly my thought. :)
