"You started that moment I seen you in the alleyway." She pointed out stately. Her nit picking filled her easily. She left the rest sit on the table, truth was she barely ate anything. It was not that the food wasn't tasty, it was delicious.

She just wasn't as hungry as she use to be before. "I am glad you want to work together. I appreciate everything you can do for me since I never have time to do anything these days." It was all point of the matter, rather than chatty and exuberant.

Work took over her life, nearly every aspect. It was the easiest thing to get into so she didn't have to get personal with anyone. She didn't like the personal aspect and didn't quite feel comfortable. After all the things that had been done she just didn't feel like the personal aspect was to interesting, except with Zodiac. With Zodiac everything was better. Everything was amazing with her. It was the only personal relationship she was allowing. Everyone else was held out bay. Even this one sitting across from her.

Sullivan has to laugh; a chastened sound that chuffs out of his chest like steam from an old train. Her confidence knows no bounds and there seems to be no question around why it should. She's got him exactly where she wants him: a fly in a spider's web. All she had to do was lie in wait and let him walk right in, wrap those silken threads around himself, and bare his skin. There's this uneasy, irrational feeling sitting in the pit of his stomach, though; like a voice of anxiety has wormed its way into a physical sensation. It's been there ever since their eyes met and Sullivan is beginning to understand what it might mean: repulsion. Despite her good looks - a scarlet smile, captivating eyes, and a pretty face - and despite her charm, Sullivan feels like something is wrong. It's that same feeling he has around Every; irrational, unreasonable hatred.

“That's fine,” he says. “It'll be an experience, that's for sure.”

His eyes move down to his beer, then back up again to reach her gaze. She looks a little different somehow, softer, like she is happy with her decision. She might just be pleased that everything has worked out exactly as planned. Up until now anyway because he can't resist any longer. He has to know. He has to understand.

“Can I ask you something personal?” he leads with. “It won't change things either way, but. Are you a Vampire, Crissy?”
