Re: Cubicle Musings [MM]
Lockland nodded smiling somewhat, "Thanks, good thing you were hear, I was definitely not aware enough to try and stop the bleeding." he said shaking his head. Eventually, all the fighting would sort of get to him, he didn't really have that many friends he knew well and sometimes it came back to bite him when he wanted to talk. He really felt odd having so few considering he really wasn't an anti social person, he loved people, he just...didn't prioritize them and ended up fighting more then going out to try and meet people or anything.
That was why he was feeling an urge to explain himself to the man who just helped him in spite of him being a vampire, the very thing paladins were supposed to hunt, he let his right hand left and drop back on his leg a little, "I don't want this to concern you, but I'm a paladin, no worries though, I'm not hostile. Well, except to the ones like the Lionelli." He shook his head and leaned back, "I was worried at first, I wanted to protect people, so I looked for a way. It was around the time of all the cure outrage. Paladin just seemed the way to go. Then I realized I needed to protect anyone from the nuts, not just vampires, and not just against vampires. I hadn't understood at first that vampires could be victims too. But the Lionelli, they're trouble, and I fully intend on trying to suppress them as best I can. As you can see though, that doesn't work great sometimes."

His eyes widen at the truth that the other was a hunter. The type to hunt his kind. He was thankful that he wasn't a target at the moment. "I appreciate that. I'm not a fan of killing, but the help-attitude is a good one, I think." A paladin, a warrior. "Don't paladins have a team, usually? I'm not sure what Lionellis are yet. If they're as hostile as you say then it's good that you fight for the ones who can't." He wasn't completely on this guy's side for killing, but if Lionelli were violent to unsuspecting people then he was saving them. He was a hero in so many words. It also meant that eventually this job would end up killing the other because one day there won't be a person running to his aid. That was a scary thought for anyone, he thinks. "Well, I'm glad I was here too."

Lockland gritted his teeth as he saw the mans eyes widen on the truth wondering if he made the right choice, but he let out a slight breath as the vampire seemed to show a bit more care towards the idea of helping. He'd helped Lockland in the first place, so he for sure didn't hate humans at least.
"Heh." Lockland made a noise aloud at the mention of paladins having a team, "I think there are some. But I don't believe my opinions are the most common among us. Too many who might just kill off just being a vampire." he said shaking his head before having to stop and look at his wound again grimacing at the pain again and wondering what exactly he was going to do about it.
"Yeah, they're a gang." He said leaning his head back feeling an urge to just be quiet. He had gotten a lot of blood back yeah, but he still had holes in his stomach and that wouldn't just get better instantly.

He nods at that, it made sense even if he didn't want to admit it. "Well, vampires can be dangerous..even though some of us try not to be, so much." He looks away at that, leaning against the wall. "So, do you have a phone? You could probably call 911 now, just for the hospital bed and an IV." The hospital is the next step for him. Even with everything they just discussed he still couldn't just leave him here. He didn't know why except maybe he still had his humanity even though he was now a vampire. Maybe there was still good in him.

Lockland had to think for a moment about the phone, his mind kept drifting back onto the pain so it took him a few moments to process that or the answer to his question. He looked at his coat trying to wonder if it was in one of his pockets, no wait, he felt it in his pants pockets and managed to slide it out flinching in the process, "Ah, there it is." he said gritting his teeth his eyes trying to look down to see the device and unlock it, narrowing them trying to click in the code and then put in 911.
He could feel himself wanting to fall asleep if only to escape the pain. He had to guess however much he'd gotten back wasn't as much as he'd have liked and his little boost there wasn't quite enough to keep him from still falling into a sort of dizzy exhaustion.

He takes the phone out of the man's hands. "I'll take that. I just needed you to unlock it, but I can make the call from here. Hello, yes there is an emergency. My fri-friend got hurt, he's bleeding alot in his side. An ambulance would be helpful thanks." He finishes by giving their address then hangs up. "We just have to wait now. Everything will be fine." He nods because the situation was controlled. He had a content-feeling. It felt good being of some use to someone sometimes. He looks at the other, giving him a once-over.

Lockland nodded as he took the phone and finished the call. Leaning his head back again he looked up and waited, uncertain what exactly he should do now. "Thank you." he said simply waiting. He still had the holes in his stomach, and while they were not bleeding profusely, it was clear they weren't fully shut up as his coat had become rather soaked by it all at this point.

He walks into the bathroom for some more paper towels and wets a few. He returns, placing them under the man's jacket along his skin. "The water should help, I think." He sits back down and meets the other man's eyes. He always felt that a person's eyes could tell a story. And since he was too hurt to keep explaining things to the fullest, he thought it necessary to look at him. Like to hint he wasn't going anywhere. Even though Kinder could speak fine, words didn't seem right, right now. More to the fact that talking wasn't strong both ways, it seemed that to be quiet was respectable. He nods at random, agreeing with his thoughts.

Lockland nodded as he placed the wet paper towels on. Made sense, maybe at the least they might wash away a little of anything that might get caught up. Make the job of the medics easier when they arrived. Lockland had a sort of smile for a moment as he looked up, not about this situation alone exactly, about everything.
What had he been before tale of the cure came out, nobody really, he was somewhat skilled physically. But not anything like now. When things got crazy with the vampires he made his decision and it changed his life forever. He became a paladin and just got stronger and stronger, and into more and more dangerous situations from there. It was not easy, but he felt it necessary. Lockland didn't see himself as a soldier, a hero, or even a fighter. He was just some guy who decided one day he wanted to help, nothing special, he just happened to have luck on his side finding paladins to make him stronger, and later blood thieves to do it even more.
"Funny, how easy it wouldn't been to kill me isn't it?" He asked softly avoiding moving his stomach as he did so to try and keep it from pushing out any more blood, his eyes showed how it wasn't exactly fear he felt at that idea, but almost that it was a simple statement. A realization of something that was shocking, but that he only realized after he was out, or almost out of, the situation. "So easy."

"Pathetic is the word I'd use. I don't just kill people. If you're looking to hear that I've never killed anyone then prepare to be disappointed. I'm just here at the moment to make sure you get into the right hands, which would be the medics. I won't stay for pictures though, so I hope you have a story cooking. Also next time how about you get a team. It's almost like you want to die. Like what if I hadn't been here? You would've. Doesn't that concern you?" Shakes his head. It wasn't funny how easy it might've been to kill the other. The question in itself was a joke, but the situation isn't funny. How could it? That's like juggling with ways to kill yourself and asking a bystander 'hey isn't it funny how easy I could lose my life?.' Nope.
