Haylee had always envied women like this blonde. Envied them, feared them. Constantly intimidated by them. Growing up, Haylee Rae’s best friends had been boys at the lowest rank of the popularity pole. Boys who were glad to speak to any girls at all. Other girls scared Haylee; they were cruel, especially in high school. This blonde? She looked like someone from the cheer team. One of those cruel girls always judging others, cutting them down, revelling in their pain. One was not to judge a book by its cover, though. Isn’t that what they said? And this girl seemed to be helping Haylee. Even if she was helping herself at the same time.

”Naturalists don’t care about being seen naked. Your friend there seems awfully self-conscious…” one of the men said, sneering. Haylee had taken the clothing tossed to her by the blonde and was hastily getting dressed, keeping her distance from the men and from her new ‘friend’. When she was dressed, she tried to stand up straight, shoulders squared. The shadows were still on guard, ready to strike. But they were calmer.

”She already said – we don’t like doing it around other p-people,” she said, trying for strength though her voice came out wobbly. Her hair was a wild halo of dark curls around her head, as if it, too, were made of shadows. There were four of them now, each with their guns and flashlights pointing at the women. The screams from the other vampire had ceased. Rather than calm Haylee, it only made her heart clench. She stepped a little closer to the blonde, careful of the shadows.

Pierra frowned still standing in front of the woman as the soldier seemed unimpressed by Pierra's response, but he didn't start right off shooting either. So perhaps he was thinking it over. Meanwhile, Pierra was hastily trying to think of a response which could get them out of this before Haylee answered, admittedly with a rather shaky voice, repeating that they didn't like doing it around people.

Heh, he seemed convinced, at least, enough so to leave them alone maybe. Well, Pierra was still mostly naked, only wearing the undergarments which really wasn't enough to be considered clothed but not so little to be naked either. She glanced over her shoulder to see that at the very least those shadows weren't...wildly snatching at everyone, perhaps not perfect wording for it.

"Eh move on, but put some clothes on and don't be so careless in the future." He said gesturing for them to get out of the way essentially and leave. Well, given that Pierra had no clue if there really were any other clothes for her to wear anywhere behind them, she figured that was really the only path they had. She'd have to get some from her apartment, or buy them.

"Yes sir, of course." She responded and turned carefully going to put an arm behind Haylee and quickly get them out of the forest, hoping it would calm her and not end up exciting the shadows and getting them caught here and now, "You might have to give me the wallet in my pocket when we're out, I'm pretty sure walking around like this is kind of going to draw too much attention for me hm?" she commented very quietly to her.
OOC: NPC'd the soldier there cause that seemed how it was intended. If not just tell me and I can edit/delete as necessary.

The agent let them go, and Haylee was lost for words. They were far too lucky. They were so close to the action—but then, perhaps the agents weren’t there for vampires. Perhaps they were there for whatever else was causing a commotion in the forest. Snow at this time of the year! They were too preoccupied with a far larger issue, and perhaps he didn’t want to get slapped with any sexual harassment charges were he to manhandle two naked or semi-naked women. Given Haylee’s past, she was certainly glad he hadn’t tried anything.

She was steered away from the agent and toward safety—back toward the city—by her new blonde companion. She stubbed her toe on a rock and stumbled a little, but managed to keep herself upright. She had her arms folded over her chest as if she were still naked, though she knew she was not. Tremors wracked her body even though she was a vampire, and didn’t suffer the cold. It was all nerves.

At least the shadows had calmed down.

She felt bad, too. The blonde was wearing only underwear. Haylee had no idea where her own clothes were, nor whether she would ever see them again. What even had she been wearing? Would she miss the items? Would they be found at the scene and tracked back to her? The anxiety and paranoia started to kick in.

”I’m s-sorry,” she said. She’d offer to buy clothes for herself so that the blonde could have hers back, but Haylee didn’t know where they were, where her own home was, or whether she’d been carrying her wallet when her clothes had been stripped from her. ”I’m Haylee. Thank you for helping…” she added, her voice quiet and her eyes wide.

Pierra smiled amused by the apology. She didn't really get it, she made the choice to help out. It's not like she couldn't have just left the woman to deal with the cops on her own. Then again, she had been the one to point out the...dance was probably the doing of Fae, so in hindsight perhaps she was supposed to owe her. Ah well, didn't matter one way or the other.

Ah and there was her name, and an expression of gratitude, Pierra nodded her head still grinning,
"Oh no problem Haylee. Pleasure to meet you. Even if you are a bit skittish hm."
she said shrugging, "Probably gonna have to give me my wallet though, can't exactly walk around without some clothes. Well...actually I totally could but it's probably not the wisest decision." she said raising her eyebrows and looking up at the sky.

"You been one for long? And what's with the shadowy....things anyway? I'm kind of new at this so I've just been...enjoying the heck out of it I guess." she added with a chuckle.

Skittish, yes. That was the understatement of the year.

Wanting to prove herself to be not completely useless, however, Haylee had a plan. She reached into the pocket of the clothing she’d been given to retrieve the wallet to hand back to … the blonde hadn’t given a name, after all. Before handing the wallet back she flipped it open to find a card or a licence or anything with the woman’s name on it.

”Pierra…?” she said, arching a brow before passing over the wallet. Maybe her name wasn’t Pierra. Maybe the wallet was stolen.

”Yeah I ah… I’m told I’m the path of the Shadow. Which means I can hide real well, I guess, and the shadows are a little unpredictable. I don’t think all shadows have erratic shadows but I guess its tapped into my anxiety and well…” she stopped. Now she was talking too much. She took a deep breath, though she didn’t need it, and held onto it for a couple of seconds, sorting the words in her head before continuing.

”Six months maybe,” she said. She didn’t comment on whether she liked it or not. She hadn’t yet decided. ”It’s nifty, really. If we find somewhere that doesn’t look like it’d have an alarm attached to it, I can ah… I mean we can get you some clothes without having to pay for them…” Haylee suggested. Morally questionable, sure. But what was the use of these powers if she couldn’t use them for anything other than avoiding being social?
