I'm just trying to figure timelines. Cause the cure was in sept (end of). So the old test subjects shade should have done havoc by now.

But if someone wants to play a new shade npc, they can throw they're hat in the ring with character backstory?
Yeah, what Josh said. But yeah we'll not go that route for now I think. We'll stick with the idea of Gideon's cure being given to NPCs, if you wish.

Yeah it's up to other writers to discuss it with you I guess. The aim of my post was mainly to just say it's possible, if you agree, as it'd be interesting to see.

What about the sire/chronological work of it all. If I made a character for this, they'd be sired by someone only after it all technically, so could't have been involved in the tests unless there was some permission to change that roleplay for them. And of course, I can't choose a Lionelli as a sire I think...although admittedly I haven't made a new vampire character here in at least a year.
Ah you've got a good point about the sire. My idea might not have been super well thought through.

I was actually just talking about this last night, and we were curious as to what had happened to Test Subject-25.

I think it would be seriously interesting to write the Test Subject pre-Gideon/pre-lab war, since it was involved in the chapter, and it was a little blurb that the hackers found when they did their end, but that's just my .02. :)

It'd be pretty easy to come up with a backstory for them, their sire, etc, I would think.

The problem with using Test Subject 25 would be that there's only one of them, so it'd be a bit mean to let just one person do this. I think we'll hold the secrets of that character back for now, seeing as it's something that has people speculating.

That doesn't mean that doing this plot would be flat out impossible, but you'd need to get around the issue of who sired the original vampire who Gideon cures.

The idea isn't impossible at all and is pretty cool.
There is like one cured for sure, one in the works, and a couple more. And if someone wants to just have an npc already cured by gids and the pharma company, they just need to poke me. I'm totally not unreasonable. :)

I understand the idea of this..

But Gideon's character has done a LOAD of work on this.. and it seems like bad form to me.. to do an end run around all Gideon's plots..to just suddenly have another one. He won the cure legitly.. and now have another shade show and steal his thunder?

I second the above. All of it. Well put.

Technically, Subject-25 was before Gideon. It was released already into the city, without Gideon having any knowledge - or any of us having knowledge, unless you hacked the database and saw the e-mails and had them shared with you. So, while it came before, I still think it would be a legit thing to have out there, running around, when and if they ever decided to use it for story. :)

As for everything else, working with Becca to have an NPC shade running around would be nice. It would still include her and Gideon in the plot, and it would also allow us to get a pretty decent view of the shade and have an interesting story for Gideon and the cure. If it's the siring thing that's an issue, if someone has a vampire they have in the shadow-realm, could they have, theoretically, brought it back out and have it be cured, then?

That way, they have a sire, a backstory, and now they're cured and the shade is causing mayhem? If not, you could just, like Josh said, write it out that the character had been lingering in the shadowrealm.

Also, you could always reach out and ask someone if they wouldn't mind having a character sired under them that fits the time-line, story-wise, for this?

Just thoughts. :)

Absolutely. I know 4 hackers that found this intel, one being mine and the others shall rename nameless. Which is why I asked months ago to play the escaped test subject and was told no (which is cool and I get). No one else really stepped up to the plate to play her-to do so now seems unfair and overshadowing anything chloe and I have done. I think the premise is great, but there has been NOTHING ic for this.

Would there have been a christmas event from the mayor, knowing there was a rabid vampire slaughtering dozens of humans?
The crownet relations indicate things are positive-that would be not true.
NO headline news anywhere.
So, it seems unfair to go from point A to Z with no work in the middle rp wise.

That is a sound good reason. It is still bad rp form in my opinion.

That character worked hard to win, and then recruit a vampire to cure. MONTHS of rp.. went into it. Those two players/characters did massive work.

And then.. boom. There is suddenly another one.. NOW? It is a "FU" to all their hard work. Because.. the two characters involved, should have been privy to that 'other' shade from the beginning.. because it could have affected their RP. But they were not aware.

It makes me question, why should we even try to win chapter events, when there will be an 'end run' after the fact anyway?
