Blaize wondered, idly, whether Breno himself had done his research. Did he know what Blaize was? Did he believe the advertising, the rumours? The famed, supposed 'vampire' on tour with Giselle! The one thing Blaize could never be afraid of, now that he knew he could still secure a lead even without being able to train or rehearse with the rest of them during the day, was that he could keep going forever. His muscles and his bones and his joints would be forever young. If he ever tore a ligament, it would heal. If he ever broke a bone, it would heal as if it had never been broken to begin with. If he ever bruised, the evidence was gone within minutes. He would never be put out to pasture, never forced to teach, instead of dancing on stage, for the masses. To answer Breno's question, Blaize just smiled and shrugged.

"I will continue to train. I will continue to audition for premier roles in premier ballets. I will continue to travel, once I land said roles," he said. Where had the question come from, and why should the man have expected the answer to be any different? "My career isn't going anywhere. Why do you ask?" he asked, curiosity unable to be quashed.

Breno smiled. This was the sort of answer he was expecting, and he was somewhat happy that his prediction was correct. "That's good, that's good. With skills like that it would be a shame if you decided to quit any time soon." He casually leaned back in his chair. "Well, let me just get straight to the point. I would like to accompany you on the remainder of this tour as your sponsor, or even maybe a coach. I realize this is an odd request, but I would be eternally grateful for the opportunity to work with you, and I would rather offer any sort of service in return than be some sort of freeloader." Breno forced himself to stop speaking, otherwise he would have kept going. He knew it was a strange request, especially for someone like him, but he just had to at least ask.

Blaize truly intrigued him, and not just because he was a supposed vampire. He seemed so similar to what Breno used to be, and for some strange reason it made him want to know the man even more. His friend told him that he was chasing lost dreams, and maybe he was, but he had that blasted stubborn streak that made him want to pursue this even more. He waited a bit nervously for Blaize's response.

Blaize was somewhat stunned. He had fans, of course, but ballet fans weren't like the fans of pop-stars or actors. They weren't as frenetic or insistent, they didn't throw themselves all over him. Much like the sport that they followed, that they loved, they were reserved and respectful, traditional even, in their favours. If he had groupies that followed him around, he wasn't fully aware of them. So this? This was a first. He laughed, as if it could have been a joke. Upon realising Breno was serious, he cleared his throat.

"I don't need a coach, though thank you for offering," he said. As always, his ego had no qualms telling it like it was. Blaize hadn't had a coach in a very long while. As a vampire, he didn't have to be told when to stop or when to stretch or when to be careful. He could treat his body like absolute rubbish and it would forgive him for it, always healing overnight.

"You assume that you'd be allowed to come even as a freeloader..." he laughed. He wasn't laughing at Breno. He wasn't being unecessarily cruel. He was just a little incredulous. "What exactly does a sponsor do?" he asked with an arch of a slender brow.

Breno smirked a bit, "I figured you would say that. A man of your talent would consider themselves the best they can be, that no one could ever teach you more because you are the best. There cannot possibly be anything more that you could learn." He inwardly sighed. He was very familiar with that sort of mindset, since it used to be his own, but it was that mindset that got him in his current situation.

"As your sponsor I would be paying for anything you would need while performing. If need be I could even help fund tours such as this one." Breno clasped his hands together, fighting back the worry that was trying to worm it's way to the surface. He knew this would be a fools errand, something that would only succeed in his wildest dreams and he was prepared for the rejection that was sure to follow, but now that he was here in the moment he wanted to do everything he could to stay there and make this succeed. "I know this is strange, but I will do anything in order to travel with you on this tour. Anything at all."

Blaize was waiting for the but. he was waiting for a lecture from this guy, someone to tell him that any dancer, no matter how talented, will always need instruction. Blaize was ready with his answers; his polite but pointed sorry, but nos. However, the point didn’t come. There was no ‘you need me’ lectures. Just the plain and honest truth.

It was true that ballet dancers, despite how talented they are or how hard they work, regardless of the prestige of the stages they danced upon, did not get paid enough. The company paid for the tour; they paid for the accommodation which wasn’t always top shelf, but was good enough. They paid for the relocation, for the travel expenses. And Blaize’s business at home – both the legal and illegal one – were doing well enough that he could pay for other things himself. However, there was one thing that he needed, which he didn’t get enough off. Something that his sire would be appalled to know how little Blaize actually got. Clearing his throat, Blaize held Breno with a sharp gaze.

”I’m not sure I need a sponsor, either. But there is something you might be able to help me with,” he said, slowly. It would be different if it was given willingly, wouldn’t it? Guilt plagued the Swan whenever he had to source blood – the thing that he needed to truly survive. It was hard, especially when traveling, to find a willing donor. And even if they were willing, it was hard to keep them once they figured out Blaize didn’t have the fangs requisite to make the experience as painless and as pleasant as possible.

”Have you heard the rumours about me, Breno?” he asked. He hoped that the other man had. Otherwise it was going to be a really awkward subject to broach – and one that might send Breno running for the hills.

Breno frowned and tried to not let his disappointment show. He knew this was a long shot, that this was something that never would have worked out, but he still had that sliver of hope driving him on. That hope was quickly dashed, and yet brought back almost as quickly with Blaize's words. He was willing to do whatever Blaize wanted from him, no matter what it was. The question threw him off a bit though. Of course he had heard the rumors, anyone worth their salt in the ballet world knew of the rumors. Whether he believed them or not was a different story.

Breno was somewhat open minded about things, or at least he tried to be. But vampirism? That was a little hard to swallow. It made sense if it was a sort of kink or something, but the real deal? He thought that this topic might come up, but he didn't think he would get that far. "Yes, I've heard the rumors," he answered carefully. "There's quite the debate on what is true or not, however quite a few reliable sources say that they are true. The male lead for Giselle is an actual blood sucking vampire." He shifted slightly in his seat, his eyes never leaving Blaize's face. "Now, whether I one hundred percent believe that or not is still up for debate."

The blonde rubbed at the back of his neck as if he were suffering tense nerves due to stress, or fatigue. Blaize was suffering neither – or if he was stressed it was merely a psychosis, and the tension was psychosomatic. There was silence for quite a few long seconds as Blaize’s bright eyes assessed the male across from him. Breno, who seemed so genuine but what, really, did Blaize know? He knew the facts. He knew that Breno had been a good dancer. A great dancer. The evidence was there that at least that part was true, and so Blaize could ascertain that, as far as he knew, Breno had not yet told a lie.

Could someone have been putting him up to it? But no. Breno hadn’t asked the questions. Blaize was the one who brought it up. And, truth be told, he was desperate. He didn’t act like a desperate man, but it was there, creeping on his bones like a disease.

”You can be one hundred percent sure when you hear it from the source’s mouth,” he said slowly, pausing again to try to gauge how the other man would react – and to decide how he wanted to continue. ”Though it’s not anything like how the movies depict. I… have an issue,” he said, the words feeling like razor blades forcing their way from his throat. He’d not even admitted this much to Lyonel. ”Defunct. I can’t …” he laughed. It was far too hard and this was such a stupid idea, but he had to continue, now. He’d started, and he couldn’t stop. ”… I’m a blood sucking vampire without the means to actually … suck blood. I don’t have the… the teeth. And I don’t like it, the blood. But I still need it. Yeah? Can you see where I’m going with this?” he asked, hand out as if he were offering Breno something, when in actuality he wanted to take something.

Breno waited patiently for Blaize to finish speaking, keeping his questions to himself until he was completely sure that the dancer was done. It took him by surprise really, that Blaize told him this. With how hard it was for the words to come out, it was obvious that this was as sensitive subject. Breno was quiet for a moment, looking at Blaize's outstretched hand, as he sorted his thoughts. A vampire that didn't like blood? He wasn't sure what he had expected when face-to-face with a vampire, but this wasn't high on his list. It sounded like something from those books he'd heard about from some of his students.

That small voice that sounded a lot like his old therapist warned him that this was a bad idea, that he should go back home and return to his normal, uneventful life, but Breno looked up at Blaize's face and saw the hint of desperation in his eyes. "You're looking for a donor? Someone willing to give their blood to you?" He chuckled lightly, finally questioning his sanity as he put his hand in Blaize's. "Well if that's what you need, then I guess I don't mind helping out in that department."

A donor, yes. Those were the right words to use, and if Blaize were anything but a cold fish in the charm department, he might have been able to express himself a little better. Breno's easy acceptance came as a shock and the blonde could only blink down at the hand he clasped -- a very human hand. A hand warmed by the pumping of human blood. Breno had said yes before he'd even experienced the 'feeding' process, before he even knew how it would have to happen. And what would the company think? Would they even allow this extra person? But Blaize had discovered that he was capable of achieving many things -- asking for a donor to accompany him to the private rooms he always already requested (they wouldn't want their principle dancer getting burned by accident because some tired backup opened a curtain when they shouldn't, would they?) shouldn't cause too many ruffled feathers.

"I'll have to use a knife," he said, finally tearing his hand away from the hand he still held, still shocked that he'd accepted. He might still change his mind, however. It wasn't as if it was a contract set in stone. "I ah... won't leave you dazed like others might. But there is... I mean it sounds strange but there's a property, to my saliva, so you won't scar. It'll heal," he said, knowing that his explanation was left wanting, but could Breno know much about the ins and outs of feeding for vampires?

"Do you want to uhm... I mean I think you should experience it, first, before you fully agree," he said, regaining some of his confidence. It was it was, no matter how ashamed he felt. At least, he thought, Lyonel might be proud of his problem-solving initiative.

Breno watched him curiously. It was interesting to see the dancer so nervous, but he supposed that was to be expected. He highly doubted that many people would be willing to give up their literal life giving blood to a creature thought to have only been in myths. Perhaps he really was crazy for accepting this so readily, but if this is what it takes to join this company, then that's what he would do, no matter the consequences.

But what were the consquences? What was he getting himself into? He was throwing away everything he had: his job, his life, for what? A chance to be in the ballet world again? To follow this man he just barely met just, who happened to be an actual vampire? Maybe I really did finally lose it, He thought. Well, there was no turning back now. He was a man of his word and intended to follow this through to the end. "I would not mind trying it, if you're hungry. I kept you from getting dinner with my visit after all." He straightened up in his seat. "Just tell me what to do." It shouldn't be too difficult, right? He didn't know much about what feeding a vampire entailed, it was never one of his interests and this seemed to be a special case anyway. Surely it wouldn't be too difficult.
