The only problem with you passing it off as a grid mechanic is that Joe Blogs, who has broken into your business on grid, might not agree with you. So technically Joe Blogs can write about breaking into Doc's place of work with no effort whatsoever. What if you can't get Joe to be reasonable? And if there are no real rules saying Joe can't do what he is doing, then you're stuck with a shitty situation.
Yes.
This is one of the contributing factors that Doc's Lab closed down. Not the only reason. But yes. That precise instant played a role.

It boils down to this: is it a private *abode*? If yes, then vampires can't enter uninvited. If it's an establishment, business, or other public / private building, then vampires don't need to be invited in. The faeish rituals for dealing with properties usually mention the faeish for "home" or "abode" if it's something that can lock vampires out or affect invitations, etc. So it's a supernatural, sort of spiritual state of the concept of home, rather than privacy overall. Short answer: lots of thought has gone into it from day one. :)

As for locks and such, yes I'd still like to add it at some point. Until they are added as a mechanic you can roleplay simply breaking the doors down or picking them, or smashing a window, etc. Not ideal, but it's temporary.
