Syn’s blue gaze watched the human for a moment before she began to speak and it was an easy silence that she fell into. After all, the girl was a hacker and before that, she had been a business woman. Now she worked for her sire and helped to try and maintain a falling masquerade. Soon, everyone would know that vampires existed. However, whether that was just restricted to Harper Rock or the rest of the world? Who knew. If that was the case, then her family would probably get doubly worried about the new found fact that vampires existed in Harper Rock, only causing far more trouble for the young vampiress. Perhaps I should fake my death, she thought to herself as she offered a simple smile to Ambrose who had glanced her way. It was probably best to smile, even to those who knew about her lack of emotions, just to throw the human woman off, even just that little bit.
”I have been in Harper Rock for about… Four months, but it still feels as if I just moved here yesterday. I guess I’m just simply enjoying myself far more than I thought I would?” A hand lifted to brush a stray lock from her face and tucked the chocolate lock behind her ear. ”Although I have to admit, I do miss my family a little, especially my three older brothers.” Syn managed a soft chuckle even though she didn’t even feel humoured. If her brothers were there, they would probably cause more problems rather than solutions and that was the last thing that she needed. Her phone started ringing inside her bag almost as if the other person on the other end could read minds. Quickly, she snagged her phone out of her bag and glanced at the caller ID. Why? The fledgling wasn’t exactly sure, as she knew who it was.
Lucy Laceflower flickered at her in white writing, before she slid a finger across the screen to hang up the incoming call. Silently she placed the phone upon vibrate and tucked her phone back into her laptop case. A forced smile rose to her lips. Always were her smiles forced or faked, there was never any true happiness behind such an actions. ”My mother. She always calls at the least opportune time. I’ll call her back in the morning.” Yes, morning, as that was when normal humans functioned; through the day when vampires sleep as it burned them and was too much effort to stay awake through. ”Now, where were we?” She asked, but truth be told, she knew where. It was all a game to the vampire, one where she played human even though she was far from it. Her heightened senses had been an adjustment to get used to and be aware of, she had to remind herself that humans couldn’t see, smell or even hear just like she could. So wouldn’t that mean that they would also get slightly side tracked?
”Ah yes, well, although I have been here in Harper Rock for about four months, I’m still getting used to the city itself. It’s a little different to California.” Syn offered another smile then as she waited for Ambrose and the human girl called, Penny, to order and receive their order before she gave a suggestion just as to where they should sit. ”I suggest that we sit in a park. The night is such a lovely evening that I don’t really want to waste it sitting inside. Actually, there should be one just down the road I believe?” She questioned as her gaze shifted back to Ambrose as if she was looking for confirmation from the elder. As if she wasn’t one hundred percent sure and was looking to her friend to help her out just a little bit. However, it was all a ploy. The fledgling knew that the park was there, she just preferred to play the little human game.

The Asian lady smiled at the three, recognizing and nodding toward them. Penny couldn't help but wonder what the woman might have thought about her returning and ordering another drink. She knew it wasn't really that big of a deal, but still, she couldn't help but wonder.
The young witch skimmed over the menu again, listening to Syn and Ambrose talk about the amount of time that they had been in the city. She had to admit, she was a little surprised when the man said that he had been there awhile. She would have sworn that he was new like her and Syn. But why would she feel that way? Was it because he seemed so foreign to her? She pushed the questions aside, tucking them into the 'it's not that important' file.
Then Syn talked about how she had been there for four months and that she missed her family. Penny understood that feeling, all too well. She also missed her father and coven family. Even though she was able to facetime with them everyday, it just wasn't enough. So much so, she questioned whether or not if she could really stay there in Harper Rock without them.
Having decided to stick with the same drink as last time, Penny leaned against the counter and gave her order. "Hey, I think I am going to have the same thing as before, honeydew and strawberry...only this time I am going to try not to spill it and instead drink it. " She gave the woman a wink and a playful smile. The Asian woman nodded and started to get to work on the order. Turning back to Ambrose and Syn, she waited for Ambrose to make his order.
After the orders were filled, the suggestion of a park pleased Penny. She was the type that always prefered nature over being confined by walls.
"Mmm, yes. That would be fantastic." Her voice gave away the fact that she was very happy with the very idea of it.
