Clash of Shadows (Bella)

"Fascinating," Nerissa murmured. She could think of multiple ways she could use Bella's ability to get out of scrapes, or even to just avoid people all together. For now it was just wishful thinking. She would just have to rely on her impressive hiding skills. Hiding in the shadows was always easy for her, even when she was a child. It was the only place she felt comfortable. Except when she was with Rachel, then she was fine with being out in the open. But that was it. Not even her own mother could coax her out of the darkness.


Nerissa leaned back in her chair, "So what brings you here? You don't look like the clubber type." The more she talked with Bella the more she realized how similar they were, which was the only reason she was still sticking around. She wanted to see where the similarities end, barring physical appearances of course.

Bella watched Nerissa curiously as her eyes became suddenly distant. She couldn't help but wonder what it was she had been thinking about. This brought her train of thought to the abilities of telepaths. It was a path that recently had intrigued Bella, as they seemed to be ever so in tune with the higher planes of existence and realms of thought. She supposed that had she not been a shadow, she would have been a telepath, or so she liked to think. Though not once did she ever wish to be anything but what she was. The power she held over the darkness was something very sacred to her.

Bella let out a light, silvery laugh as Nerissa pointed out her alternative appearance. “I’m not, really. But it’s dark and somewhat under the radar, not quite as flashy as some of the other places around.” She shrugged. “And I like seeing the different kinds of people that come in here. I can get to know them, from a distance. Their behaviors, their demeanor, the times that they decide to stroll in…they’re quite revealing.” She concluded, suddenly appearing lost in thought again before snapping back to reality.

“And what about you? No place better to go?” She suggested this in a sincere tone that could perhaps come off as patronizing but was really just blunt curiosity.

Nerissa shrugged at the questions"I just sort of found my way here. I tend to get curious and I decided to check it out." She looked around as she spoke, "and so far I haven't been disappointed." She remembered when Rachel would tell her she had the curiosity of a cat, which she supposed was true. But if it wasn't for that curiosity she wouldn't be where she was, so she didn't see it as a bad thing.

Nerissa was becoming comfortable with Bella's presence. In all of her years of traveling she hadn't found someone that was so much like herself and it was both fascinating and a bit comforting. It was then that she decided she wanted to know as much about Bella as she could, but she had to take things slow. If she came off as too eager then it might scare her off and it would be very unlikely they would cross paths again. "What is it like to be so connected to shadows? Are you able to manipulate them to fit your needs?" Nerissa's grey eyes flashed with excitement as she asked these questions.
