Jane swayed with the music, her body falling into a natural rhythm that she felt through her whole body and beyond. She was in her element. She screamed with the others, hands outstretched toward the group, excitement filling her and exploding outward. For the first time in her life, Jane cut loose and forgot everything but the moment. She forgot about the pain, the toxic household she had grown up with. She forgot her fear, both her mortal fears of her stepfather and his master, her sire. She forgot her terror of being discovered for what she truly was. Jane just… lived. She was just a girl having the time of her life.

John, not much of a dancer just watches the stage. The group does promote a fun atmosphere. If he wasn’t completely surrounded by strangers he would possibly enjoy it more. He kept his eyes on Dawna and Jane, thoughts that he shouldn’t be having still rolling through his mind. Some distant part of him knew they were wrong, bad thoughts. It didn’t matter though, not really. In his mind they touched, caressed each other, hands moving over supple flesh, roaming over soft curves. They bit each other, blood flowing between them and John lapped it off their writhing forms. He submerged himself in these thoughts as he watched the stage, a smile finally appearing on his face.

He didn’t notice the crowd, he didn’t notice the security guards. He wasn’t afraid of being there surrounded by thousands of people, any of which might have seen him, as unlikely as it was being that he was persona non grata, under the radar, anonymous. For the first time since everything went to ****, since Jane killed the ********, he wasn’t afraid of being found out for all the atrocities he had helped commit or those he had committed alone. No, he was here in this moment lost within his own twisted mind.

His eyes remained in motion between the two women, one singing, performing on the stage, the other engaged in a dance beneath her, one, each one fueling the other with their energy, Jane feeding Dawna her adoration, Dawna soaking it up and giving her complete acceptance. John was simply enthralled by the whole exchange As the tempo of the music changed he felt the air shift, a different type of excitement filling the crowd. He watched the two women go from that slow and sensual sway into more carnal dance moves, raw, more passionate John fell into the flow of the energy, feeling it within himself. Yet even with the atmosphere having changed, being upbeat, he remained standing still, watching… smiling.

Singing was a freedom for Dawn, it had been almost all her life. The music soothing her despite the pain her disease inflicted on her every day. The pain of her own organs eating themselves, the pain of being poked, prodded, tested on over and over again. Music had soothed that away, so had singing. She sang whenever she could, wrote music, taught herself to play piano and guitar by ear. Dancing had come soon after, but dancing was a second love. Singing, that was her first. Performing for people, bringing joy to their lives. That added just one more beat to her heart.

As she danced about the stage and sang her songs, her eyes looked out at the fans, of course with spot lights in her eyes their faces were shrouded in darkness. Still, she knew they were there, could feel and hear their love of her, the guys, the dancers, the music. She then spun and held out her hand, soon she was joined by one of the singers that she had just signed. He was tall, brooding looking, his voice though had a soul to it all its own. He smiled to her and sang her song, spinning her and then kissing her hand before moving to dance beside her. They moved in perfect time, clearly a pre-planned sort of thing. Every so often he would wrap an arm around her and they would sing together. She smiled, winked to him and then eased away so that she could continue the song. As the music faded she held out her hand to him and he took it willingly.

“Welcome, Kennix Muldanaro! One of the new artists under Kindred Moon Records! Listen for him on the radio, he's going to be a huge hit!” She said and then kissed his cheek. He once more kissed her knuckles and then bowed to the audience and blew them a kiss before heading off the stage. It was then that another song started, another of her more upbeat songs. And soon she was once more dancing about the stage and singing her heart out.

It continued like that, her dancing about, singing to her songs, holding out her mic so the audience could join in, her bringing out various artists and then once the song was done she would introduce them.

The music slowed and she moved to sit down near a grand piano that had been wheeled out during another intro. There was someone already sitting at it, so she hefted herself up onto it and then began to sing to the somber song, it was without any other real music other than the piano. Lovely, but also heartbreaking. A song she wrote with one of her past relationships, one that still brought tears to her eyes when she sang it.

The slower music allowed me to collect my thoughts. I begin to look around and take stock of my surroundings, noting exits, the location of security cameras and personnel. Without the bass drumming through me and the overtly sexual movements of the two drowning my thoughts I quickly become all too aware of the bodies of the crowd too close to mine. I move closer to Jane who has her arms up like everyone else doing this weird swaying thing with her eyes closed. I guess she is still feeling the music. My hand slips onto the small of her back for comfort. Mine, not hers. I need to be in contact, to feel her room temperature skin under my sweating palm. Me nerves are coming about.

She breaks away from her revery and tells me it’s ok. She must see how distraught I’ve gotten suddenly. It’s probably a good thing I didn’t bring my gun. Everyone is out to get me but really they are paying me no mind at all. I know they aren’t really watching me. Not really. It’s me. It’s in my head. Jane is telling me it will be okay, close my mouth, the little fangs I’ve developed since beginning to drink vampire blood are showing. **** I’m practically panting. My face is in her palms and she’s talking in a normal tone. I can hear her only because the music isn’t as loud as before but the singing of the fans around me still means I have to strain.

”Not much longer John, then we can go, you’re fine. No one here wants to hurt you. Once the concert is over and we talk to Dawna one more time we can go ok? Please John, don’t ruin this for me. Please.” I don’t want to ruin this for her. I want her to remember this night and love it. I swear I saw a flash of fangs on one of the other fans. I don’t see her now though. Did I imagine it or did she leave? ****, I’m feeling penned in. I take deep breaths and I nod to Jane. I can fight this. I can get over this fear. No one will bother me if I just act normal right?

Jane gives my forehead a kiss and takes my hand in hers, holding it to give me that grounding connection.

We turn back to the stage and in my mind I’m seeking that happy place again where Dawn and Jane are doing their lesbian thing and I get to drink and lick and caress. The slow music is making it hard. It’s an emotional tune when I need something sexy and fast. I focus on Jane’s cool hand in mine and watch Dawna. It takes some effort, but I slip back into my happy place after a moment.

Once the song was over, Dawn jumped from the piano, turning a bit to hide the fact that she had been tearing up. Then she sighed, and lifted the mic once again so that she could introduce the musician sitting at the piano. “How was that babies!!?” She called out as she turned to face the audience once more and then lifted her hand to beckon the musician over. “Everyone, please give a warm hand and united love to Kenneth Travis! Another who has been signed to my new label.” He took her hand and then gave her a hug as she returned it and gave him an air kiss. After that he bowed and saw his way off the stage.

It was then that music began to swell and it took on that ethereal note with a hint of electronic note that then began to take on more of a dubstep sound, and Dawn began to sing but as she sang, her dancers were moving about her. Their movements hiding some rigging and a costume addition. And then they parted like a flower opening and Dawn was being lifted into the air. But it wasn’t just her, her hair was lifted as well and the skirt of her dress flowed like water, her hair as well, as if she were in the middle of a current. She looked like she was floating in water.

While she sang and ‘floated’ her dancers still moved about the stage, moving to the beat of the song and then one dancer vanished for only a moment and when she returned, it was with a glowing ball. It was one of those magician balls, the kind that appeared to float and move with a mind of its one one moment and then obey the one commanding it the next. The dancer and the ball moved like a poem and then the dancer tossed the ball and Dawn ‘caught it’ in her command as she sang and floated, so did the glowing ball, it seemed to respond to her song as if she were a siren and it was a sailor. And then the next moment the ball made it’s way to another dancer.

That is how the entire song went, with this magic ball floating from dancer to dancer, moving around them, responding to them, as if it really did have a mind of its own. All the while Dawn continued to sing and float in the air, her arms and body moving as if she were fluid. And then she was making her way back to the stage as the song began to fade away, shifting into another song, another of her more upbeat songs. After all, Dawn knew that you never end a concert on a low note. You ended it with a bang. And this was her ‘Bang’ song.

Another guy leaves the stage. I wish I could make money to sing with hot chicks. Watch their mouths move over the mic like it was something else. I’m close enough to see her fangs from where I’m at. It brings bad images to mind. Bad in a good way. Good in a naughty way. Naughty in a way that Beyonce meant in that one song my sister was in love with under the ******** took her up on it while she was singing it in her room one night. The guy is dead and I still want to kill him. Closure is ********. It never really happens, just gives you more to think about. More “what ifs”. I turn my attention back to Jane and Dawna and the “what if” on my mind has nothing to do with my dead stepfather. The music has picked back up. I’m kind of grateful for that. Jane cradling my head while I was in the middle of a mental meltdown to that sad song was about as poignant a moment as I can handle.

She’s moving again now, having released my hand so she can enjoy her dancing. She could have been like this years ago if not for the two assholes that invaded our lives, latching onto us like parasites. She could have and fangs, blood and death instead took everything away.

Then it gave it back, twisted and changed. I watch her body moving as the lights flash, the music pounds, the band plays and the fans scream their excitement. I’m standing stock still again. I can feel that I am and my eyes are again pulled from Jane to the lead singer. Blood. Really is that what it’s all about? Blood?

****. Why can’t I find a moment of what Jane is experiencing without it being about blood? Why can’t I have my happiness, my concert, my fun. Something that scours away the years between then and now and leaves me normal, untainted?

I guess some of us have to be tragic so those that aren’t have someone to look down on and feel better about their own worlds.

The beat was speaking to Dawn this evening, and the song pulsed through her like her own heart beat. It was one of those kinds of songs where you just could not stop yourself from dancing, from moving in some small way to the beat of the song. Dawn loved when she could move about, dancing with and between her other dancers, men and women all rocking out together to her songs, moving as if they had spent years practicing. And in the case of this song, they had. It was an old song but the most popular, especially in dance clubs.

She spun and arched, her hips swaying as the male dancers pawed at her, stroking her legs, brushing her hips, pulling her back against them as they hid their face in her neck. All while she kept up the fast pace of the song, singing her heart out. Then she would break away from the males and go and dance with the females, their bodies writhing together, swaying and bumping, rubbing and leaning against. Back and forth she moved between the men and women, every so often she would walk over to Reed or Jackson or Dylan, dancing beside them, leaning against them, letting their voices melt with hers, for a moment of time before she would kiss their cheek and skip away to dance center stage once more.

As the song neared its end, one of the male dancers slid along the stage on his knees and bared his neck to Dawn. She smirked, and leaned in… this was something they did from time to time to really drive home the fact that she was a vampire. Or at least, to make others believe that was what she was, even though she actually believed it herself. Dawn slid her fingers through his hair, her eyes seeming to glow as she looked up and the light reflected off her light eyes. Then she bent down and bit into his neck.

All of her dancers were used to her bite, none of them feared that she would drain them. They knew she wouldn’t. She couldn’t. Especially in front of thousands of singing, dancing bodies. She bit down in such a way as that a hint of his blood dripped down his neck, adding to the whole ‘stage’ show she always put on. Then she pulled back, licking his blood from her lips and leaning down to press a kiss to his cheek before he stood and hugged her. Clearly not scared of her or even caring that she had fed on him.

The music began to fade and the chanting for an encore began, however, Dawn knew that an encore was out for this evening. She giggled into the mic and shook her head, “I’m sorry lovelies, but not this evening… But love and unity to all of you, my precious babies!” She said before handing her mic to one of the dancers and doing the symbol for unity and love out towards the audience.

Jane was one of the ones screaming for an encore. I didn’t know exactly what that meant. All I knew was that I had been transfixed by the sinking of fang into flesh when Dawna had fed from the guy on the stage. Of course people would think it was a prop, fake blood, fake teeth, all that ****. Except those in the know. We knew that someone was bitten. Thing is though the guy didn’t react like he should have. He didn’t appear dizzy or anything. Either she wasn’t a vampire or there were vampires that were different than Jane and ******** Number Two. Whenever they bit me it felt like… euphoria. I was left a little dazed and with some pain, but it felt good too.

Maybe she was a different kind of vampire… maybe she was like me. I mean, I drink blood, I have powers, I’m stronger than a normal man could ever be. I’m a Lamarckian vampire like Jane’s sire said. Kind of a half vampire cause I still need food and can move about during the day.

Looking over to Jane I see her reaching out her hand to drag me off somewhere. I tag along, she’s heading toward the backstage area again. I thought the concert was over but I guess Jane has other plans. Oh well, it’s her night after all. I’m just along for the ride. A security guy reaches out toward Jane and I intercept his hand before it touches her. She explains that she’s Jane and I’m John. We’re invited. I let go of the guys wrist quickly, he’s probably a cop. I’m apologizing, he’s glaring but he looks in a little book and suddenly we’re in the clear, heading down the hallway toward where we were at with all the other V.I.P.s except there aren’t any other V.I.P.s. I’m totally lost now.

The night belongs to Jane.

Dawn waved and blew a kiss to the audience once more and then turned and made her way off stage. DT was waiting for her, towel and bottle of water waiting in her hands. “You’re guests have made it back and are in the green room waiting, do you want me to send the boys in when they are done?”

“No, let them get their rest on… I just wanted to get to know those two a little more.” Dawn said with a smile as she took the towel and the bottle of water, opening it and taking a long drink of the refreshingly cool liquid. Then, using the towel, she wiped away as much of the sweat she had, though there wasn’t much, despite her going out and partying like a rock star under lights that felt nearly as hot as the sun, she didn’t sweat much. It was a side effect of her disease. Then she patted DT on the shoulder and passed her to head back towards the Green room. She didn’t want to leave her fans waiting.

After another swig of water from her bottle, Dawn opened the door and stepped in, glancing around the room and then letting out a pleased sigh, as if she felt more comfortable now than she had been on stage. “I’m glad to see you two got back with no problem. Have a seat.” She said with a smile and then made her way to a couch that could easily accommodate all of them though there were chairs and other sofa’s about the close area if they did not wish to sit so close to her. She looked to them both and then smiled “How did you like the show?” She could pretty much guess that Jane would have liked it, but she was curious about if John had enjoyed himself.

Jane was on the couch next to her idol and gushing about her favorite parts of the show within an instant. I barely even saw her move. I’d glanced behind me at the door closing behind Dawna when I turned back, Jane was gone and had reappeared next to the Dawna. Having fed from her I knew that supernatural speed wasn’t on her roster of powers but damn, she made it seem that way. Shrugging I make my way toward them too. I’m playing it nonchalantly while my palms sweat, my heart thuds in my chest and I’m pretty sure I’m three seconds from crawling out of my skin and fleeing the scene via total mental breakdown.

Did I enjoy the show? How can I answer that without sounding like I’m as fucked in the head as I very likely am. I spent the majority of it lost in blood soaked fantasies about the two women in front of me and as I sit down next to Dawna, Jane on the other side of her I’m still trying to come up with something to say.

Jane thankfully is prattling on happily, buying me time unknowingly, at least I think it’s unknowingly. Since I started drinking her blood there seems to be more of a connection that ever before between us. Maybe it’s the enthrallment, maybe the blood, I don’t know. I’m not the most knowledgeable on these things. Maybe Dawna would know but at the moment I’m having a hard time even opening my mouth. I go for the strong silent type and give a two thumbs up signal before I realize in my leather jacket and jeans I probably am one haircut and an “Ehhhh!” away from looking like the Fonz. ****. Okay John, get it together. Say something that doesn’t make you look like a loser. “Wanna bite me?.” I close my eyes. This isn’t going well.

Dawn smiled softly as she sat on the couch with Jane, the girl was more than willing to tell her about every part of the show that she liked and she smiled that it seemed to be all the parts that she had put some extra thought and work into. That made her feel good, knowing that her work, not just as a singer, but as an artist in general was appreciated by people, especially her fans. As she chatted with Jane though, she was also watching out of the corner of her eyes John and the way he seemed to be a little on the worried side. She was almost tempted to jokingly say she didn’t bite.

Of course, she did bite, hell her show had to show that. After all, she had bit one of her dancers. He hadn’t shown any real signs of blood loss though because of a few things. She only took enough for the show and she also was no longer interested in human blood. It seemed that feeding off her own kind gave her far more control over the pain and powers to boot. Powers that had allowed her to enthrall Dylan from time to time, and had allowed her to be followed by a Wraith of her own when she could see him that was.

Pulling her thoughts back to Jane, she placed her hand gently on Jane’s and smiled to her. “I am so glad that you loved the show.” She said and then noticed John making his way over to them, joining them on the couch, putting her in the middle of a sibling sandwich. She smirked at that thought then instantly dismissed it as she went on to continue speaking with Jane “I can’t tell you how much I appreci...” She was cut off by John speaking.

With her head snapping back to look at him, her eyes were wide with shock and awe, then her eyes relaxed and a smile started to dance to her face, and then from the smile there was also a soft giggle and a slight blush came to her face as she gave him a once over. Then she looked to Jane and arched her brow, as if silently asking the girl if he was serious. Her blue eyes returned to John and her smile grew “Would you like me to bite you? Really?” She asked with a little bit of skepticism coloring her amused tone.
