He drains the rest of his glass and motions around the place. "What all these people are doing..." He looks back at her as he speaks. "From that CEO over in the corner who just got married to his childhood sweetheart to the man over by the bar, a detective, off duty, investigating a serial killer case, all they are really doing is dying. In the meantime they go through motions expected of them by other people but not really much else. They are not doing what they want to do, doing what expectations make them feel they have to do. They will do this for 40, maybe even 50 years before settling down after retiring and live out the rest of their lives taking pleasure in the little things. Most will have forgotten the dreams they have in their younger years. That you will never experience. You will never find your body growing weaker with age. You will live forever."

He holds out his glass for another refill, setting it down without touching it.

"Have you thought about what you will do with eternity? Have you thought about your businesses as being forever? What will you do ten years from now when people start to notice you don't age? This is a small city and to retain immortality it must be your world. I'm curious as to your thoughts on this my love.""

Her posture became slightly edgy and defensive when Ambrose started talking about eternity and her agenda for the future. The next decade. Had she given it any thought? No. Not entirely. But the woman didn't like feeling as belittled or chastised for wanting to make her place in Canada and vampire society; however she came about doing that. At least she was doing something other than sitting at an altar with a thrall feeling sorry for herself. "A decade is more than enough time to get me what I need for the things I want.

Still, Lita controlled her composure and lifted her shoulders as she thought. "Like anything with time, I'm sure my business will fade. Or maybe I will pass it to Winny to operate and take over. Or someone else-like someone I may sire in the future. I will think of what to do, when I need to."

The Mexican woman looks down at her drink, obviously not bothered with something that wouldn't need to be worried about for a decade at the very least, stirring the martini before Adelita sighs. "Just because you want to hole yourself off-doesn't mean everyone else should. Or wants to." Her eyes leave the glass to look at him pointedly. "What are your plans for the next decade and there after?" She wanted to say more and even take a slight at the way he lived his life, but Adelita pressed her lips together to prevent her from doing that. Lita could occasionally resist the urge to take a cheap shot at someone. Every blue moon.

The old vampire listens, nodding at each point. Until she seems to turn hostile. The barb doesn't affect Tizoc at all. He is quite happy to be away from the sounds and flashing lights and smells of this odd world her has awakened into. The altar, once a way to speak to his gods, has become a sort of place of tranquility. The soft sounds of the slowly flowing water within the only thing breaking the silence apart from those few social interactions with his Brood within the depths of the earth beneath the factory. How could he explain to a child of this generation, this world that he finds it all so... much. Too much to allow himself to become fully immersed in it. It is frighteningly fast-paced and deafening and the people have more love for their electronic toys than for the world outside their doors. He doesn't understand any of it.

"What do I intend? It will take at least a decade to truly catch up with all the changes the world has undergone in the past 200 years." He orders Adelita another drink and a glass or orange juice for himself to occupy the staff member when he comes back around. "Over the next half century though I plan to buy up much of the south western portion of the city and raise the standard of living in the lower income areas bit by bit. Already someone else has taken the initiative to build a vertical mall, so it looks as though I have an unwitting accomplice. I haven't looked into it much but from what I gather I will need to learn some fairly complex business skills in order to do so... unless someone who was already interested in such things was willing to share her time..."

He watches her carefully as he speaks, his voice soft but firm. He gives a smile at the end of his speech waiting to see if she is interested in helping him adapt, even remotely.

Real estate ventures. Control over parts of the city that Adelita is familiar with given her past with two various gang leaders in the city. One, now dead-but that didn't matter to the Mexican woman anymore. He had played his part and she had been long finished with him before he hired Elighan to watch her every move.

Adelita tips her head in thought. Help. Time and time again they come to this place and she has offered to help twice and as far as the woman knows, he has not taken anything she has said to heart and done those things. Tizoc does not need her help-nor does he want it. He wants her to think she is helping him, but Adelita has picked up on his game for a while now. It was hard to ******** another who was excellent at bullshitting themselves; or something similar as they saying went.

The woman sighs and shakes her head. "I am positive in the next ten years you can manage to learn some skills, or hire someone to do it for you. I am not your personal punta, Ambrose." Adelita pushes the drink he had just ordered her away and stares him dead in the eyes before she speaks again.

"You had these plans in your mind before I opened my little cafe. In ten years, you will have more than enough money and knowledge to do what you want to do without me." Adelita looked away and focused on the band playing in the stage before she returned her gaze to him after a few seconds. "Do you know why I opened my cafe? Because I don't want to be here anymore. Because I can't count on a single person in this city and that includes you. So maybe, if I get enough money from the business, I can go back home and leave every ounce of disappointment behind. So there is your answer, Ambrose." With nothing more to say, Adelita pushed the chair back and concluded their 'date night by leaving.'

Ambrose watches her go without a word. The night is young, she is young. Forever is a long time. Perhaps in five years, ten, maybe more, when he has absorbed enough of the modern culture to begin to remotely understand her he will seek her out. For now he simply rises, dropping money from his wallet onto the table to cover their drinks and heads to the restroom. Once there he occupies a stall, waits for the restroom to clear and opens his tome back to the factory underbelly.

Pride damaged, feelings wounded the elder vampire appears before his ritual altar. He stares a long time at it, seeing the various sacrifices and rituals play out before him in his mind. By no means can he remember all the faces that have come and gone throughout the decades and centuries... nonetheless... he stares for a long time.
