This. Unless you're going to make an ic announcement and always be something Pi does every year or every half year or whatever for the Sanctuary. Which then becomes Pi's thang (which is completely fine. Just none of mine will participate in any way because...well they don't know anything about Sanctuary IC).
I'm hoping if that's the case that we can do other things that gets moderate/admin ig cash for prizes and comps or something. If no one has any ideas, I'd be more than happy to try and think of some things or have ideas tossed at me and give all proceeds to admin/mods for future comps and such as Elizabeth. She's the one that's my most giving character and would do something like that anyways. I'd happily let Natasha or David keep track of my account or use the thrall she has as the bank for the event that will go to mod/admins.
:)

Last year it all went to Pi, nothing has changed this year.
I can understand your discomfort. And it was addressed last year. With the change last year, came the change that it was fully IC for both Pi and Elliot and while I was happy ooc to donate money to mod run events (and always will be), it didn't change the fact the auctions became IC officially last year.
However, after the feedback from the survey taken after the last one, we have substantially lowered how much the house took and really, the house is only getting 15%.
This isn't a money racket, and never was and I've always had Pi help fund mod stuff, it's why the poor girl only has 500k in the bank. >.>
But it's good rp, it help promote RP, it can also help fund helping new players. And we're doing that through an IC faction.
- 85% of the money goes back to players
- 15% of the IGC funds go the the house, IC
This auction is fully IC, and this thread is the ooc planning around that IC RP opportunity for players/characters.

An IC announcement has been made since October 2014, the results announced IC in November 2014, and plans announced IC for this year's event in January 2015 and announced again in September 2015.
The concerns raised last year were taken on board in the feedback given after last year's event and changes made. This event is purely IC, this is the ooc planning thread for it.
Pi doesn't have to disclose where she spends the cash made by the house, I just thought, OOC you guys would like to know here. To be fair to you and other characters though, that announcement about Sanctuary and Haven, and the funds being used, probably won't be made until after the RP side of Sanctuary is actualised.
So soon it will be known. For right now, IC is that it's just the same as last year and merely an IC annual event held at Lancaster's.

Edit: I missed what you said to Chel. I'm still uncomfortable and won't be participating in something that was started for ooc purposes.

You said that in last year's planning thread as well Becca, and again I accept that is a personal choice. However you participated in last year's event, knowing where the funds were going too, so I'm not sure what the difference is in this year and last.
Now that being said, I'll make a note that none of your characters want to join but feel free to do so if you'd like. We're happy for anyone to join who wants to.

I also think that as Pi is getting a cut of the money then she shouldn't really be able to bid. Bit like a politician holidaying on tax payer's money really. >.>

Well, that's no fun >.> What if she really wants someone ... like Elliot. Or you know, someone else
<.<
But seriously;
1. If Pi were to bid to win, I see no problem, cause she's not actually costing anyone anything out of pocket.
2. But on the other side of that same coin, I don't think either me or Chloe should bid to inflate the auctions. Cause that would be wrong.
And if you do think that is happening, or appears to be happening, then tap me or Chloe, and let us know. I doubt that is the reality but having a reminder is all good.

This is a reminder.
With a sigh Pi turned towards the stage, her gaze questioning. She didn't have to talk loudly to be heard so merely asked the question. "What do you want me to do Madison?" Pi had 2.5 million dollars to blow, and if Madison wanted her to blow it, then she would.
If Velveteen wanted to play cat and mouse, then Pi would see just how much the woman was willing to pay for the privilege.((could very well be seen as bidding to inflate)) It's not like she would lose near as much as that total. It WAS her auction, she would automatically get half back, and she could probably convince Madison to hand over a good portion of the million plus she'd pocket and at most, Pi would be out of pocket about 500k. ((using money gained from the auctions to inflate prices))
With a small smile she considered how that would go over with Elliot and quit worrying. Elliot, would probaby contribute to the pot. ((Possibly both hosts contributing to not only over inflating prices but outbidding genuine bidders))
"Fifty one thousand"
No. In all fairness I do not think hosts of any sort of auction, who are taking a cut of the money should be allowed to bid in said auction.
