Sean’s eyes held to Myk, as if waiting on the next step. It wasn’t as if Sean was incapable of making decisions or taking lead of a situation. There was just something about the man before him that drew Sean to follow. The best he could compare was Alice in wonderland, as that he felt compelled to follow Myk into this unknown, much like Alice had followed the white rabbit. His gaze would linger perhaps a little too much as he watched the man remove the band that had held his fair colored locks. Perhaps under a different set of circumstances he could have admired such, but instead he listened and waited for the next course of action.

“Too bold with all that noise?” Spoken with the play of a smile, as if teasing that the statement was far from the truth. Such actions were definitely out of the ordinary for Sean. He didn’t normally make a habit of busting guard’s noses and knocking them out. Such a bold act had still surprised him. Though it was more the thought that if he could bring himself to do such, what else might he be capable of? “Those in the building next door might have heard all that racket.” Joking before hearing the woman’s voice over the radio. She would be curious of her coworker, especially if she had heard the man’s screams. “It would seem we just can’t stay out of trouble. We should leave… If killing can be avoided.” The last part shared hopeful, he really didn’t want it to come to that.

Though how they were going to do that? Sean didn’t quite know, he cursed himself now for not having come better prepared. Knockout bombs, smoke bombs, just anything of the sort would have been helpful. As Myk had opened the door, Sean’s eyes would linger over to catch sight of what was inside. At the man’s question, Sean would shrug his shoulders. “That sounds like a great plan to me. I can’t claim to know much about such things. I have never been the best with computers and such devices. Though I’m quite handy at breaking and taking things apart.”

It really would be beneficial to disable the security system, especially if that would mean perhaps erasing any trace that they had been causing havoc within the building. Sean wondered how often the security guards of such building encountered such instances. Night after night, Sean would imagine. It certainty would explain why so many were heavily guarded. Not that such extreme security measures would have stopped many in this city. Had Sean been better prepared this evening, robbing this place blind would have been no trouble. Lesson learned he supposed.

“Right. Ok,” Myk said quietly, pewter eyes moving away from Sean to look around their immediate area.

He had weapons on him – Myk always had weapons on him – but he preferred the idea of using something blunt, something disposable to smack the **** out of the big black box in the cupboard. As a matter of fact, Myk could have used his bare hands to claw his way through it, but he didn’t want to risk an electric shock. A crowbar would have been perfect, but he could settle for the metal pole he’d seen resting in the back of the cupboard against the wall. It was almost as if it had been left there purposefully – the perfect tool required in completing the next task. Had they stepped into an alternate universe which based its rules and laws on RPG scenarios? The Telepath didn’t care. He took hold of the three inch thick steel pole and decided to go ahead with his idea of dismantling, that is, after he told Sean to back up.

“Uh… you may want to stand back,” Myk spoke over his shoulder.

Once Myk deemed the Allurist to be out of the impact zone, he began his assault on the console. Although the Telepath was no Hulk, he was able to smash through the metal and the plastic with surprising ease. The repeated thudding sounds echoed through the small cupboard, dying into the racket of screams as their guard – still some metres away – was still struggling against the illusion and its aftermath. Sparks flew with each impact and the console began to whir and scream, almost as if Myk was fighting with some android. This RPG had quickly changed flavour, becoming Sci-Fi in nature. After just five whacks, the computer system was concave and eerily quiet. The bleeping lights faded into black and soon too did all the lights in the building. The Telepath paused to check their surroundings, expecting the alarm to sound at any moment, but even seconds later, there was nothing. Myk turned to Sean then, disbelief slowly being undone with confidence.

“Ok… that seems to have worked,” he said grinning. “Come on, let’s find that exit.”

After tossing the pole back into the room, the clatter of metal impacting the floor like a clap of thunder, the overly happy Telepath was on the move again. He could have left on his own by now, but that seemed rude. Myk didn’t want to leave the poor boy in the mess the pair of them had made, so they would have to find the exit the old fashioned way. With no place else to go but head deeper into the warehouse sized room, the pair headed north away from the guard’s screeching. The only problem with that plan was the fact that their options were down to just two doors, and there was simply no telling what was on the other side of either one. One of the doors, located at the very end of the room was a security door requiring a key card to pass, while the other looked like a place the janitor would store his buckets and mops. Myk turned back to Sean to get the man’s opinion.

“Well, this doesn’t look very promising, does it,” he said, his low voice purring. “Which door should we try first?”

He watched then, as Myk’a eyes would linger around the room. It didn’t take the man long to find a weapon to use, to release wrath upon the black box with. That was an admirable quality, to be attentive to a surrounding area. Myk seemed very observant, and from Sean’s own observation, the man didn’t hesitate with his reactions. Hesitation could cause trouble, especially when one was a thief. You had to act fast, even when mistakes were made. Myk must be a good thief, and Sean certainly didn’t see himself as such a bad one. Sean never found himself in such a situation before. He had gotten better at going unnoticed. He doubted Myk had such troubles, so there must have been something different with how the two had collided on this particular evening. As if the very meeting had shifted the balance of good luck they typically they had. As characteristic of the evening, his thoughts would drift to such things, but would be quickly brought back to reality by the sound of Myk’s voice.

It was only then that Sean would ponder over just how quiet his thoughts were. The hallucinations, for the moment seemed eerily quiet, and even such a thought made him paranoid. He hated never knowing, and when it hit, he wanted to watch his reactions. Somehow, too, he felt Myk was the sort who would not judge such things. That though in itself had his just like the man even more. With warning then, Sean would step back and watch him swing the first hit. After that, Sean figured he might as well make himself useful. Rummaging through things and pocketing them, one in particular a key card. Though Sean had pocketed the card with the intent of using in to pop any simple locks. Not all doors, but with some, Sean had always found it easy to pop a lock with an ID or old card like that.

With catching Myk’s voice yet again, Sean would turn attention would be turned to admire the man’s handiwork. ”I’d say it worked.” Shared with the play of a smirk, knowing he likely could have done no better himself. Myk was on the move once again, and Sean would quietly follow. Though his mind lingering to how dangerous the man before him could be. It such could be done with a metal pole, it was imaginable what could be done with an actual crafted weapon. A mental thought was certainly placed on being sure to stay on Myk’s good side, for sure. When they finally came to a halt, Sean’s eyes would glance over the doors in question. Even in the dark he could see quite well, and would notice the door requiring the key card. It was then would the man recall the card he had pocketed. ”I wonder…” The words shared under his breath, as if speaking to himself. ”Lets check them out.” Said then to Myk, as he walked briskly in the direction of the doors. Stopping first to test the closet door, but would quickly shut it. Nothing of use for them in there.

Nearing the other door then, his hand would retrieve the card from his pocket. A brief pause would be made for the moment, card in had as he wondered if it could be this easy. Running the card, it would seem for the moment it would, as the door would open to them. It only reviled stairs, that only went up and the walls held no windows. He would stand and hold the door open for Myk then. His hand would reach for his pack of cigarettes, plucking one from the pack and placing it between his lips. In that moment he would tilt the pack in Myk’s direction. ”Want one?” He hoped the man didn’t mind him smoking. Sean knew it likely wasn’t safe smoking inside of a building like this, but he had to obtain his nicotine fix. ”I hate stairs.” He mussed aloud, as he would light up his own smoke. “Falling down them hurts, though I’m not exactly fond of elevators either.”

Pewter eyes, as sly and unflinching as a raven, watched Sean’s blue gems make perfectly unnoticeable movements as thoughts clambered about in his head for supremacy. Now was hardly the time to admire the young man and lose his composure, marvelling at those remarkably handsome expressions regarding one door over the other, but Myk was easily swayed by the simple things. The Telepath continued to observe the scene, but mostly the man. Myk brought his arms together behind his back, pushing his chest forward and swaying his upper torso from side to side as he waited, looking rather like some schoolgirl playing games – the hair and clothing and make-up probably did enough to enforce the image. As Sean opened the closet door and quickly shut it again, the Telepath giggled quietly to himself, averting his gaze for a single second. Of course he wasn’t that type of psychic, but his intuition was incredibly accurate. Whether it was because of some supernatural force, or just something unconscious about Myk that made him aware of the things that others wouldn’t automatically detect, the Telepath was quite often right about things – even if he didn’t always trust those instincts of his.

Sean made for the next door then and Myk followed, hands still clasped behind his back as he likely got a little too close to the male in front of him. The man’s focus was on the door and not on Myk, however, and this provided the Telepath with some stolen seconds to get away with murder. He couldn’t help but to indulge himself in those quiet moments of anonymity, and really, the man would never know that pewter eyes were scaling down from the base of his neck to the base of his spine – it really was very fortunate that those devilish hands of his were forced out of play. Myk’s attention only had time to focus slightly lower for half a second before the Allurist had the door unlocked. Obviously Myk hadn’t been paying attention to the man’s interaction with the door so he had no idea how the man had gotten that door open, but with it done, there seemed no reason to question the magic. Sean moved to address Myk and the Telepath shifted back, his head dipped ever so slightly almost as if he was expecting a chiding – had been caught peeping – and would be quick to lunge out of the way. When Sean hadn’t lashed out at him in the moments that followed, however, Myk frowned and then quickly washed away that guilt of his with a champion smile. It seemed Sean was actually holding the door open for him, unaware of what had transpired behind his back, and this weird display of chivalry actually made the Telepath blush.

“Oh my,” Myk purred in a tone that might have sounded feminine if not for the velvet of his voice. “You are such the gentleman. Thank you.”

It would be rude not to move on ahead after such a charming demonstration. Having surpassed his companion by a hair’s width, Myk stopped to examine the new environment. Stairs led up and away from them, deeper into this fortress that they were trying to get out of. Well, of course they could make for the roof and see what happened from there, and it really wouldn’t do them any harm to jump thirty feet and land on the ground. Well, it might, but then it also might not. Myk was so busy losing himself to the future that he barely recognised the faint emotions scurrying about in his companion. The man had reached for a cigarette again – so soon after his first – only this time, the Telepath was given the option to share. Myk turned on the spot, pewter eyes gazing up at blue orbs and then down at the offering between them. It probably wasn’t the romantic gesture that the Telepath was forming in his head, but this was some sign of growing trust between them. Paranoia might have made Myk suspect that Sean was just trying to win him over so he could manipulate him into doing… well, whatever it was that Sean would want really, but he needn’t be so subtle. Even when the Telepath knew he was being used, it didn’t stop him from complying. Two slender fingers reached forward and plucked one small white stick from its confines before placing it behind his ear.

“For later, merci,” Myk added, quieting only to hear Sean’s remark about falling down stairs and disliking elevators too. “If it makes you feel better, I can walk behind you. I’ll catch you if you fall… so… it won’t hurt.”

The Telepath took some time to think then, and his dark eyes seemed to darken with the inspiration. They couldn’t very well stay here and they couldn’t go back. Sean might not have liked stairs, but he would have to brave them if he wanted out. Besides, if the Allurist was feeling sheepish, Myk had other ways to get him up those stairs…

“Or, I could carry you,” Myk said, his red lips grinning like the jowls of a wolf. “I’ll let you decide between the princess or fireman procedure, though. Whichever makes you feel more comfortable about it.”

There was a small smirk playing on the end of Myk’s words, but that didn’t mean his offer couldn’t be an earnest one. The Telepath might not have been as physically strong as some of his kind, but he was plenty strong enough to carry the weight of fully grown men. He certainly wouldn’t pass up the chance to get his hands on this one either, though he wasn’t entirely certain if Sean would like that… or if he wouldn’t like that either for that matter. Myk didn’t like the term “gay-dar” to refer to what was essentially trying to scope out one’s sexuality, but he did often enforce the facility to figure certain people out. Sean was a weird one. Ordinarily (that being, in Myk’s experience), heterosexual males do not like to get close to other men unless they are completely and 100% sure that they are also that way inclined. Seeing as how most people – men and women of all designations – seemed to be convinced that Myk was female, if not a completely flaming homosexual, the Telepath couldn’t deny that Sean’s tolerance toward him was puzzling. Did Sean think him a woman? Well, he wasn’t trying to be one tonight and Myk didn’t think he was that pretty. So what was it if not for that? Maybe Sean was just incredibly nice, so incredibly nice that he would put up with anything from anyone. That thought made the Telepath’s chest swell with guilt.
