She hesitated once more, for longer this time. She continued her nervous scratching of the brick. "How do I.. Catch them? Where will I be able to find one.."

She didn't feel right saying what her choice was. She was rather focussed on the worry that it might be disgusting. If she couldn't like it, how would she survive off it? Though, she'd never heard of a Vampire who didn't like blood. It sounded preposterous. Maybe her tastes will have changed very strongly.

She moved her hands to push her hair out of her face, and then rubbed it with her hands in an attempt to clean herself off. She shrugged and adjusted her clothes to be more comfortable. They were ill-fitted to her figure, making her seem scrawnier than she actually was. It gave her an advantage so far, people over looked her, ruled her off as a child.

She watched the man in front of her, for the first time actually looking him in the eyes properly. She wouldn't directly ask for help, so she hoped her eyes would do it for her.

It seemed the girl’s choice was made. She didn’t ask any more about the blood packs. She asked about how to find and catch a human. Which had to mean that she as more interested in finding out what it would be like to feed directly from the source. Cosimo nodded; these were questions that he could answer, insomuch that he had done a bit of hunting before he had gained Elise as a donor. He had managed quite a few nights without being poisoned, and he thought about the places he’d gone to avoid those kinds of people. He hummed under his breath as he looked over his shoulder; he squinted his eyes as he tried to imagine the city in his hand, and where they were in comparison to the districts.

They were pretty close to Wickbridge, and he knew that on the other side of the factories and the warehouses, the office blocks and the random internet café, there was the airport. And in the airport district there were some park areas. It was a quieter area where people often wondered alone, mostly students on their way to and from university. Sure, they could go find some homeless person somewhere, but where was the fun in that?

”Come. I will show you,” he said. He didn’t wait for the girl’s answer. Just started a brisk walk in the direction he knew to go—down the street, and turn right around the corner, and keep going for a couple of blocks. It wouldn’t take them long to hit the quieter areas, where they could become the predators that they were.

She stayed a few paces behind him as they walked. Her feet dragged a little, and she watched him intently. Every movement he made interested her. She walked with her shoulders back, but her head was bent forward so that there was less a risk of being spotted by someone she knew before.

"You know the city well?" She asked in a small voice. She had quietened now that they were on the move. Wanted to avoid any attention now that they were headed to do the unspeakable. She pushed her hands into her pockets, toying with the few things she had that were in there. Silly things, like a pencil and some jewellery. Stuff she didn't want to part with.

She looked around with her eyes wide at the area as they walked, trying her very best to take everything in. She felt a need to be aware of any danger, any way out if this stranger turned on her. She had a strong feeling that he wouldn't however. He seemed trust worthy, which was not something she saw every day sat on the street corner.

Cosimo glanced over his shoulder at the girl, who shuffled along behind him. He slowed his pace so that he could walk along beside her. He offered a vague shrug and another one of those nods that wasn’t really a nod.

”I do and I do not. I have been here duo months. Two. A little less, maybe. But… a new city is like a new toy, I think. I am rough with my new toys,” he said. By which he meant he was not all that timid when it came to exploring. He was surprised that he had not been blown to bits yet in the Ivory Tower. Elizabeth had warned him of traps set to keep intruders out, but it wasn’t as if he had the blueprints. He explored anyway, pushing through hidden doors and down secret hallways. Because why not? And he did the same with the city. He wanted to see and know every nook and cranny of it, and so he did not hesitate to take that bull by the horns.

”I know it tolerably well,” he said with a lopsided smile. ”I do think there is plenty more to find. But there is always time,” he said. Lots and lots of time. An eternity of it, really. There was almost a spring to his step as he imagined it; all that time to explore, and to do with as he pleased.

”Oh! My name. It is Cosimo,” he said, his step slowing just a little more as his body twisted so he could offer a hand. It was a rough looking hand. The kind of hand that had seen physical labour, of a kind.
