She watched him perform his own particularities with his food, wondering how his arrangement would taste for a few seconds before she continued eating her fries, losing the momentary whim once she tasted her own mixture once again. He nodded, which secretly pleased the Spanish woman before Robin vocally agreed to her statement.
There were things she wanted to know, but there were things he should know too. Since he opted to be the first to divulge in the things she wanted to know, Lita focused on that, as her eyes stayed focused on his face while she spoke. "How many...customers do you have? I ask because I am hoping to make this a long term arrangement. If you do something like this?" It was quite obvious that Lita on the occasion struggled with which demonstratives to use in a sentence. This might shed some light that the woman didn't speak English as her native language, or to some, might indicate that she either didn't pay attention in English class or lacked a higher form of intelligence.
"And finally, I want to know your terms and conditions before we proceed with further conversation. Your fees and availability, primarily. And what is and isn't allowed." Lita didn't blink at that final statement, which could mean a number of things. Another fry went in her mouth as Lita remained focused on Robin, the fingers on her left hand idly going for another fry and stirring it in the mixture she made, as her ears moved to focus on any sounds of steps near them that would indicate that someone was approaching and the two of them should either stop talking for a few minutes or change the subject quickly.

Robin shook his head.
He’d not seen Jamieson in quite a while, and Jamieson had been rather demanding, as far as blood was concerned. Robin’s health had gone downhill, but had picked up a bit in Jamieson’s absence. People came and went, Robin knew. He harboured no resentment. But it put a dampener on his lifestyle. He needed to find a new Jamieson. And he wondered whether this Adelita could be it. She had asked for long term, hadn’t she?
He took a minute to think about it, while he chewed on his burger. There was a chance, here, that he could actually make more money. There was a chance that he could dictate a schedule, which he hadn’t really had before. There was a chance that he could control the feedings, and thus take care of his own health a little better than he had been. Robin swallowed his food; it filled a space in his gut that he hadn’t really realised was there.
”Five hundred dollars per feeding,” he said, trying to keep his voice steady. And why shouldn’t that be the fee? Maybe he should have made it more, but it was too late, now. It was what Jamieson had paid him. When Jamieson paid him.
”More expensive than a blood bag. But it’s fresh. And call it insurance. Terms and conditions? Don’t kill me. No more than a pint at a time. I don’t have any other clients, at the moment. If you are to be my sole client, I can be available whenever you need me,” he said.
”What is it that you have in mind, what you ask what is and isn’t allowed? I mean. I’m kind of selling my body, but it’s never been in that way…” he said, jumping to conclusions. Maybe he wouldn’t be opposed… but he’d never really thought about it before. He laughed, though. It was kind of awkward to imagine. Though it had been a while…
He laughed again and pushed it from his head as he took another mouthful of the cheeseburger.

Lita listened as she chewed away, bemused by his asking price. Five hundred dollars seemed to be a lot. Weren't blood thieves paying people two hundred dollars for their blood? And bags were only two hundred dollars too. She expected to pay a little more, but he was price gouging in her eyes. And that was poor business manners.
Still, regardless of what she was negatively thinking, the smile never left her face as she continued to listen, this time taking a drink from the soda she ordered so that she could wet her vocal cords before she had the chance to speak. "Killing you would be counterproductive, Robin. You have what I need, remember?" Lita started off with a low murmur once she set the drink back on the table. "I have no plans on killing, or hurting you, if it can be helped." Lita admitted honestly as she picked up another fry, dipped it in the sauce and then popped it in her mouth. "And I also have no intention of paying you more than double the going rate of a blood pack. You said yourself that you have no clients at the moment. If I feed off you every night, for three hundred and fifty dollars, that's almost twenty-five hundred dollars a week. Twenty-five hundred dollars more than you had last week. Let's not be greedy. Profit is a necessity, but greed just turns a person off. And you really don't want to turn me off." Adelita sat back in the chair she was in, the smile disappearing only to be replaced with a thin, tight lips. "I say three hundred and fifty, you say five hundred. Let's meet in the middle and both walk away happy." Lita could be prompted to budge a little bit, as was the way of the business world, but could he?

Robin stared at Adelita, wondering if she understood what was at stake, here. That he was human. And that there was a real danger to his life. He cleared his throat, and took another bite of his burger. He slowly chewed, and swallowed, before putting the burger down and sitting back. He considered the barter, but didn’t respond in regards to the price just yet.
”There was once,” he said quietly, his voice only a little louder than the music playing through the speakers overhead. ”Not too long ago, I had a client. His name was Jamieson. We ah… he was an addict. And lived a… whimsical lifestyle, I suppose. Point is, he fed from me every night. Sometimes more than once. I got sick. Not… too sick, but I had a friend point out that I should be careful. If I end up in hospital, I don’t have health insurance. I don’t have anything. I need insurance, see? Twenty-five hundred a week might seem a lot, but the medical system these days… it’s ******* rort,” he said. He sighed. That was his justification, anyway. He didn’t really spend his money on much else, except food, booze, and cigarettes. And books, every now and again.
”Four-hundred, if you insist on feeding every night. Three-fifty if you give me a night off when I need one,” he says. The offer makes his heart twist and jump in his chest. He couldn’t discern whether he was making a mistake or not. Every single night… it couldn’t be good for his health. But, as calm and collected as he might seem now, he was eager to get started. He had all good intentions of taking his time and doing this right, but he was honestly impatient.

He was taking a long time to answer, and Lita almost wondered if she should have agreed to the five hundred dollars, or just walked away from the deal. Robin started to talk and explain why his fee was the way it was, which mildly irritated the woman. She wasn't this Jaime-whatever his name was, and she wasn't an addict and could control herself. Quite well, actually. Or, so she believed she could. To lose control would put his life at risk, which he pointed out, but if she went so far to kill him-it was back to blood bags or feeding in a way that wasn't easy for anyone. Most of all her.
Lita had a solution for Robin about the health insurance-two actually. Get some, or marry someone who had some. She would have suggested it, but that seemed a taboo topic for an initial encounter. Maybe next time. Or maybe, like her, Robin didn't like the idea of being tied to any one person. If he was, she couldn't blame him.
"Deal." A night off wasn't something she intended on giving him, but a couple a month wouldn't exactly break her bank account once she started pushing the Frostbite hard and heavy like she planned on doing before she moved on to her next target.
"Now, I think since we have come to an agreement, that there is something you should know. I have the problems I do, because I have no-" Lita paused, closed her mouth, ran her tongue over her teeth and then reopened her mouth. Fingers moved to the upper lift, showing him a regular set of canines. "Fangs? Like the others do." She said after dropping the top lip down, her voice just barely audible over the music that played in the McDonald's. "We have to be creative. Any suggestions?" The woman picked up another fry, dipped it in the sauce she made and looked at the male, curious as to his thoughts on how this could be a successful arrangement for the both of them.

Robin arched a brow. He was glad he had not agreed to the cheaper price, originally. The complication Lita threw upon the table could prove to be… well, complicated. Robin had never come across a vampire who had no fangs. Thus far he had experienced only clean, incisive bites. Like twin needles piercing the skin. It was part of the high, that initial sting. And he wondered whether this particular complication was enough to have him back out of the deal.
The writer took another mouthful of his burger as he mentally chewed over the new information. After ten seconds, he put the burger down; he wiped his fingers on his thighs and swallowed, before reaching down to lift the leg of his jeans. Tucked into his boot he had a pocket knife, which he now pushed onto the table. It was all folded up, and didn’t look at all threatening. A push of a button, however, and the blade would be released. A blade he was sure to keep sharp. It was, in part, his insurance policy. Something he could grab and stab with if a vampire got a little too greedy. Something to alert them to any deals they may have made, and to make them, hopefully, back off.
There were, of course, questions that came with Lita’s admission.
”If you don’t have…you know… does the wound still heal? Like it does with others?” he asked. He wasn’t exactly keen on the idea of being littered with scars. Maybe she didn’t know. Maybe she’d never stuck around to find out. Maybe she rarely bit humans, and it was an answer she didn’t have. And even if the wounds did heal, did it only work when a person was bitten? Would they heal if his skin was instead punctured with a knife? So many questions, but he would wait until Adelita had answered the first one, first.

Robin suddenly seemed tentative with this new found piece of information Adelita shared with him. Perhaps she should have been more forthcoming with this fangless piece of information, but Lita figured between the two of them that they could figure something out. Her lips pressed together in a thin line as she thought about his question.
"I don't know." Lita admitted honestly, taking another drink from her soda cup so that she could think back to all the feeding experiences she had. "Sometimes when I try to, I don't get very far and I get shot at. And they rarely miss." Adelita admitted with a small sigh. "I've used bags, but..." I always wonder if the shop owners know what I am, or if they are keeping tabs on people who buy. Wouldn't you think it was a little weird asking for a bag of blood every night?"[/color] Adelita rolled her shoulders lightly and then frowned.
"Usually, when I am successful...it isn't pretty." Adelita said quietly as she put the cup down on the table and looked him square in the eyes. "Which was why I was hoping we could be creative and think of something far less painful. But if we can't...I understand and will end our conversation here, Robin." Adelita grabbed the last fry that was on her tray and dipped it in the sauce before popping it in her mouth, eyes still on him as she waited to see if he was interested in this arrangement still.

Robin tried to put himself in Lita’s shoes. He tried to imagine being a vampire who couldn’t feed properly. How much must that really suck? Not literally, of course. Well, no. She could probably suck, but she just couldn’t bite properly. Of course, then Robin’s thoughts went to places they definitely should not go, so he shook his head and brought himself back to this table at McDonald’s. He took a breath and held it as he leaned forward, elbows on the table as he discarded his empty wrappers. The burger was finished, and his hunger was somewhat sated. A hunger he could satisfy without one single problem. He shrugged his shoulders and gave the vampiress across from him a small smile.
”I’m happy to try anything once. Let’s… call our agreement provisional, yeah? We’ll try things. Experiment,” he said. There was a small voice in the back of his head telling him that he was insane. He was giving this woman, this stranger, permission to use a knife to cut into his skin in order to get the blood out of his system. He licked his lips, and shifted a little in his seat. Another customer passed by the table, and Robin waited until they were far enough away before he continued.
”For example. We use the knife, just once, to cut into a vein. Or… maybe even a less fatal… thing. You… do what you gotta do and we see if it heals. If it doesn’t, then we go from there. See if there’s some other way that works. Even if that means it’s gotta be messy, just once, to see if that heals,” he said, keeping his eyes on Lita’s face, brows arched inquisitively. It wasn’t as if he expected her to say no. Now he was just waiting for her to tell him when.

He was uncertain and maybe he should be. Adelita was a predator on the basic level. A predator that had a defect or an abnormality. Those could be the most dangerous, couldn't they? Unpredictable and willing to do anything to get what they needed. In her case, that was blood. And a lot of things could go, oh, so terribly wrong. Robin had every right to have reservations.
"Si. Provisional." Adelita said with a nod of her head before the woman finished what she would for the night and pushed the tray away from her. Not towards him exactly, more so towards the edge of the table so that it was out of both their ways. "I am staying at a hotel. Hotel West. You know where it is?" Adelita said as she leaned forward, her tone low as she kept talking. "I have a room on the second floor. Meet me there tomorrow? At nine?" The woman slowly stood up and grabbed the tray from the side of the table. "Room two hundred and tries, three. Lita corrected herself with a shake of her head and a small laugh. "Thank you, Robin. Adelita said, because what else could she say in a situation like this? Other than see you tomorrow, but didn't that sound a bit over eager? Let's meet tomorrow and try this and hope you don't die? It didn't exactly sound normal at least. Not that anything had been normal since she became a vampire. That was thrown out the window a long time ago. "Enjoy the rest of your night. Lita left the table and the male then. He would show up tomorrow, or not. And they would go from there.

Robin nodded. He was born in this city. Had grown up here. He knew it from head to toe and back again. Now, he knew it more than he ever had before, right down to the filthy cracks on its feet. The caves and the castles and the sewers and the catacombs, and all these places he’d never dared to look before. But now they were all there, like he’d reached some magical level in a video game, and a whole new section was opened up to him. What heights could he reach next?
As he was reaching into his bag for a pen and a piece of paper to write the number down on – he knew he would forget if he didn’t write it down – Adelita was up and out of her chair. This was a woman who didn’t mess around. Now that their business was concluded, she was out of there. No time to sit around and chit chat. Maybe there’d be time for them to get to know each other, later. It made Robin smile.
”You too,” he said. Even though he really wanted to ask: why not now? Why tomorrow night? He’d come out with the hopes of getting his high tonght. But it would appear that he would have to wait to get his kicks. He could be patient. It would feel all the better at the other end, the longer he had to wait. And it was only one more day. Maybe he’d go back out and get absolutely hammered, so that he could sleep through the next day. It sounded like a plan.
He gave Adelita a small wave and a parting smile before he bowed over that piece of paper and wrote down the number that she had given him, which he had been repeating in the back of his mind for the past minute or so. He ordered another burger and fries to eat on the road; and then did exactly as planned. He would meet Adelita the next night. And they would see how things panned out.
