“I am glad to hear that the dress code is more upscale”. Cori had noticed that this was not one of those typical bars, where the females were expected to show as much skin as possible. It, again, made her feel comfortable. Cori knew her work ethic and thought it would fit in well with the expectations of the two owners. It was apparent that they ran a tight ship…so to speak.
Cori tried to ignore Revelation…she had hoped that the two owners did not think they were “together”…that would be horrific. Cori tried to position her body so that she did not even have to look at Revelation…he was her sire, but in no way represented her when she was a human and even now as a vampire. I just wish he would go away and fast, she thought.
The two owners seemed cordial and businesslike…exactly as Cori had hoped. She had an urge to tell them not to consider Revelation…to send him on his way and not even initiate him in conversation, she decided not to.
“Could I ask you what open positions you have?” Cori asked, but honestly did not really care where she was put. She just wanted to be hired and have a sense of purpose. She had lost that when she did not give notice at her other job and merely quit. Not at all how she operates or likes to leave an employer.
“I am willing to work any night shift you see fit, my references are solid as is my work history.” “When do you think you will be looking to hire?” Cori did not want to come across as pushy…but direct is how she feels these two like it

Revelation looks over at the man behind the woman with his application. "It was just a fight or two, college stuff. Football team got into it with us cause one of them thought he was bad ***. You know." He gives a little shrug. "Cops were called and it got broken up, no one really hurt or anything. They took a bunch of us downtown and most of us got charged for assault and battery. I got probation and time served on the first one and the second one was just a brawl I got in with this guy while we were drinking. I did a couple months and got out. Wasn't local though. Haven't gotten in any trouble locally and not in a long time. I just want a job so I can work and better myself."
He glances between the man and woman, avoiding looking at Cori entirely. "I've been having a rough time lately. Nothing seems to be going right, my life has completely changed and I can't even drink a few beer to relax and let it all seep in. I need this to help bring back some type of order."

Pi gave Elliot a small smile. She wasn’t usually the one who approached new staff. Her social skills weren’t developed that well when it came to the human resources side of their business. She was learning to be a good bartender. That usually just required a smile and a nod at odd points through a one sided conversation. But this, determining the suitability of a person for a position wasn’t her forte.
She was glad when he interrupted and gladly sat back a little to let him answer the question and only added her bits afterwards. “But for the right people… we pay very … very well.” She finished.
And they did. Sometime the money that came across the bar meant they could pay their people around $700+ a night and that was for good reason. Happy staff kept what they knew close to their chests. Well paid staff kept their business to themselves and were more willing to turn blind eyes to things like bosses that always seemed to walk out of the office even if it weren’t likely they’d been there at all.
“We’re looking for staff who could start right away.” Pi finished. “We’ve had a bit of a turn over lately, so the sooner the better ....” turning a quick eye to the man. “Order we can do. Starting over is our specialty” She replied to him with a small understanding smile.
She couldn’t say for sure if the two sitting in front of her were vampire. It wasn’t a power she had, although she suspected, but their sallow pallor of their skin and she’d know for sure if she reached across and touched them, felt for a pulse she was sure wouldn’t be there. But not yet, that would come later.. and in either case, it didn’t matter.
Lancaster’s hired human and vampire both and were equipped for either.
Giving Elliot a quick look she shrugged. “If their references check out… I don’t see why we can’t give them a chance do you?”

Elliot arched a brow. He wondered about this guy’s excuses. As if it mattered whether his offenses were local or not. It didn’t matter where it happened or what reputation he might have. What mattered was that he didn’t let his temper get the better of him while he was working. But, Elliot was always the kind of guy to give other people the benefit of the doubt, and Pi seconded his thoughts anyway. The two mostly lived on the same brain wave.
”Positions…for you?” he said, nodding in Revelation’s direction. ”Probably security,” Elliot said, though he was now glancing between the two of them. ”Although we might hire you under a specific title, it’s mainly got to do with paperwork, and doesn’t mean you have to stick to the specifics of that title. We have an IT person who covers the bar a lot, for example. We like to get all our staff trained in all areas so that you can help out when needed,” he said. He nodded as Pi asked whether they should give these two a chance.
”We’ll have a look at your applications and check out your references. Why don’t you come back tomorrow night and we’ll go from there?” he said. They could have a trial, and if they went okay, they could be hired. They’d have to get one of the day time managers to call the references, though, he supposed. Calling references in the middle of the night probably wouldn’t be very professional.

"Sweet!" He says, hands coming together. He knows his references will check out. He usually did alright at work and was liked well enough. He just always took temporary positions and when the job was done, he was gone. This was the first time he applied for something with the intentions of sticking around. "You just tell me who to bounce and I'll be on it!" He looks around at the well dressed customers and adds in quickly. "Nicely and politely of course."
He gives Corentine a glance as if to say Told you so about the place.
The money is better than anything he's had coming in before so he figures he's all in.

Cori gives Revelation one of those stares… you know the kind that if it ever manifested itself as some demon, it would rip your head off and eat your insides. It was that kind of stare, quadrupled. His ego would get the best of him, one day. She would make sure of that.
“I am able to start right away, if that is even feasible. I also have other references, if they are needed. I gave you the most recent and relevant.” Cori made sure to address both owners of the bar, as opposed to just the one that seemed to take the lead. “I do have a law background, not sure if that helps as far as acquiring a security position here… but I do know all the laws as they pertain to what a bar owner and their employees can do and not do, to extract a disorderly patron, if need be. Staying with the guidelines of the law is important and keeps the bar out of trouble.” Cori turns and looks at Revelation, giving him a small smile… a smile that says, “I will not allow you to screw this up for me…”
With that, Cori extends her hand to the female owner, first... “Thank you for this opportunity, I look forward to hearing back from you both.”
