At the Lady’s words, Myk shied away somewhat. He hadn’t made any effort to sniff himself for signs of blood, but he sensed that it probably would have been unmistakeable without the effort. Blood was blood and they were Vampires; it was the least they could do but recognise the scent as easily as they perceived light and darkness. Still, he had been injured before and had forgotten to notice, so it was just as well that Elizabeth was here to point this small matter out. Without the sign of blood it could be seen that he had neither been injured or had injured anyone else. This was encouraging, but was merely a fragment of the larger puzzle at hand. Myk shrugged his shoulders and wanted to pull away from Elizabeth, he didn’t want to burden her with any of this and he could already see that she was struggling to make sense of what little information he had provided. She asked if he felt out of sorts in his head and regardless of whether she meant physically or mentally, Myk shook his head; eyes on their hands. It would be rude to remove himself right away, but at the mention of leaving the bar, Myk’s head shot up, his eyes alive.

“No!” he blurted out, not knowing why exactly. “No… I… I just think that I came here for a reason, so I should stay.”

Pewter eyes had drifted once again, looking for the floor so as not to catch her gaze, her disappointment or confusion. It hadn’t registered to him right away that he wasn’t making any sense. His hand slipped free of hers and settled in his lap.
