Re: Visions of the Past (Doc, Mortll)

At hearing Kendall speak for the first time since being locked in the Shock cage, Doc’s head whipped to pin his gaze on her. Granted he had been angry more about the girl he just killed and dumped in a cesspool, than Kendall at the moment. But Kendall did deserve his ire as well.
He laid a hand on Mortll’s hand as she was in mid stitch. Softly he said as he broke his gaze with Kendall to look at Mortll, “Let me speak to her. I do not want you to leave. Your presence will keep her at ease.” Doc flexed the hand of his wounded arm. He gave Mortll a smile, “Feels better, thank you.”
Standing he moved to the cage, where upon he sat on the floor, so he would be even with her. He didn’t want to appear as a judgmental authority figure, even if that was what Doc’s gut wanted him to do. “Kendall, Look at me.”
Doc’s voice was calm, soft and even. “You have had a dissociative episode. Innocent humans have died.” He glanced at Mortll and then back to Kendall, “Your sire and I have mitigated the fallout as best we could. You are safe; and we have every intention of keeping you safe.” He let the words have a moment to sink in, the last thing he needed was for her to get hysterical and the Penguins hear it and then come and search out the sources of the hysteria.
“You’re in a shock cage. It is for your protection, as well as the protection of everyone else. I know you are probably scared, have questions, and want out of there. But we cannot let you out until we what caused your fugue, because we cannot take a chance of that happening again. Once we know what triggered your episode, we will be in a better position to know what to do to help you. Do you understand?”
