--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
This RP takes place on Sunday 26th April 2015.
Levi:
It was getting late and despite the passionate activity they’d engaged in which had taken them from the wall in the living room to Lorelai’s bed, Levi was wide-eyed and watching her lie beneath him. Propped up on the elbow, umber eyes watched gold curl around his fingertips. He did have a thing for long hair, it occurred to him, as he focused on the texture of silk winding around his rough hands. It made him wonder too, just who was ensnaring whom here.

Lorelai:
Lorelai gazed lovingly up Levi. A delicate hand reaching out to momentarily cup his cheek before her fingers danced lightly down his jawline. They had been both emotionally and physically distant from one another for a while now and so she had not been expecting this kind of attention from him. She longed for it. She longed for him. But Levi could be quite obstinate when he’d made up his mind on something and so they had entered into a sort of battle of wills. Luckily perhaps for them both, she had yet to give up on him and he was not yet through with her. Any tension she’d previously felt between them was gone and she could only hope that it would remain so.
“Can I get you anything?” she asked as she watched him playing with her hair.

Levi:
Levi shook his head, determined to focus on the gold mixing with the pastel cinnamon shade of his skin and the darker scars that were there. He hadn’t exactly been drunk when he’d come to her place, but he drank enough Scotch to dull his senses and the incessant thinking. He’d drank enough to still the questions and concerns in his mind that had held him back from doing the one thing he could only think of lately; embracing this woman. Having come here with exactly that intention, his senses sharpened once again and so began the thinking, the scolding, and the regret. There was still pleasure aching in his body and he didn’t like the gut-wrenching collision they made against all the negativity that had started to swell within him now he’d sobered up some. This was why his eyes tried to stay glued to her hair, to the simple action of feeling and not thinking.

Lorelai:
He seemed distracted and in some ways she didn’t mind. She was perfectly content where she was.
“You’re very handsome,” she told him as she let the fingertips of her outstretched hand now run over his shoulder and down his bicep.
Lorelai had never been drawn to anyone as masculine looking as Levi before. Sure. Both CC and Pru had masculine traits about them but their physiques were anything but. Even Lyle had been lacking a little in that area. He was all man but his muscle tone wasn’t anywhere near as defined as Levi’s was.
Her hand moved to the back of his neck and she pulled him down to her. At the same time she lifted her head from off the pillow so that she might kiss him once again. She felt as if she’d been starved of his attention for too long and a small part of her feared that he might withdraw from her again. Of course she never listened to such concerns. Not when it came to others. It was only her own negative traits that she believed in without question.

Levi:
Though Lorelai’s words were kind, Levi frowned at her. The suddenness surprised and confused him at first and then he was locked in that moment, right up until she pulled him into a kiss. Levi resisted a little, making the returning kiss lack in the passion and affection department. Still, he had at least kissed her back this time and continued to lean over her – nose to nose – when the kiss took a premature end. He watched her expressions, umber eyes a little dull, feeling like he needed to say something, but not finding the words. In the end, all he could come up with was a returning kind gesture. “You’re beautiful,” he said.

Lorelai:
The blonde sighed as he broke from the kiss. It was lacking the intensity of his previous kisses and the fear she had began to grow a little. His words did little to ease her concerns either and she soon shook her head.
“I am not beautiful but you are very kind to lie to me and tell me otherwise.”
Unlike most women Lorelai meant what she was saying. She wasn’t fishing for further compliments and she didn’t expect that he would argue with her. She was plain and Levi deserved better; something she knew with such certainty that it was as if the facts had been etched in stone for all to see.

Levi:
Levi’s frown returned and his eyes sparked with frustration. “Why do you say that?” he said. “Why do you always put yourself down like that?”

Lorelai:
She reaches out to stroke his frown lines, a look of amusement on her face.
“Because it’s the truth Levi. I have no delusions as to who I am or what my worth is.”
From her voice it was clear that she believed every word, but more than that, she accepted it. She had long ago made peace with who she was and had never been encouraged to think differently.

Levi:
Levi shook his head as her hand came up to stroke his forehead. He was already annoyed and he didn’t need her pestering him like that. “Who told you it was the truth?” he asked. Though, in the back of his mind he figured he already knew the answer and was just looking for confirmation.

Lorelai:
“No-one had to tell me Levi. It’s quite obvious. Please don’t be mad at me.”
It was her turn to frown.
“When everyone you love leaves you, there can be but one conclusion. Though I knew that even before that began to happen. I’ve never been of any worth to anyone. Though perhaps that’s untrue. My family love me. Lyle loved me. I was the one that left them. But they didn’t need me. No-one ever does.”

Levi:
Obviously he didn’t see that curve ball coming. Levi sat up, watching her with that stubborn frown again. Lorelai was stubborn and clung to her misery and he didn’t know how to fix that exactly. Since he was already stewing in a small pool of rage, it was perfectly easy to run with that emotion and confront her. “I didn’t realise you could see the future too,” he grumbled, not realising how hypocritical he sounded.

Lorelai:
“When I was sorcerer I could. Though I never had much control over it. I lost that ability when I… when I died and became… this.”
Lorelai rolled over so that Levi didn’t have to look at her, as obviously he was disappointed in her and she couldn’t give him any other answers but the ones she’d given him. It was only a matter of time until he worked out that she wasn’t worth his time and left her too. Not that he would even agree to being with her. So in that perhaps he was a step ahead of those she dated in the past as if he refused to be in a relationship with her, then he couldn’t really leave her. At least not in that way.

Levi:
As Lorelai rolled away, Levi’s rage crested then swept away from him like a passing wave. He took a deep breath and sighed heavily, reaching over to touch her shoulder. “I’m sorry,” he said quietly. Since he really hated to say that word, he kept his mouth shut for a while and waited to see how she’d respond, if at all.

Lorelai:
Lorelai turned to face him when he apologised and moved so that she lay her head in his lap.
“I’m the one that should apologise Levi. I didn’t mean to upset you. Please forgive me.”
Lorelai was laying on one shoulder and so one hand was more or less trapped beneath her. The other arm however was free to wind its way around him, so that she could lightly stroke his back with her fingertips.

Levi:
Levi resumed stroking her golden curls when she came to rest her head on his lap. He had no idea why she was apologising and figured she probably didn’t know either, that it was likely just a habit for her. Lorelai had always been self-deprecating and living in the past with her misery, but Levi hoped she might get over it on her own. She blamed herself for things that were completely out of her control, took the whole world on her shoulders and was blaming herself too when she was struggling to bear the weight. Levi didn’t know if there was anything he could do to lift her burden, or even if she would let him. Some people just liked to sit in their misery.
“Do you really think I’d lie to you about how beautiful you are?” he asked after a while, focusing on the gold of her hair

Lorelai:
“You weren’t lying?”
Lorelai turned her head so that she could look up at him. It never occurred to her that Levi meant what he said. How could it? She didn’t believe she was anything special. She was happy being plain, ordinary Lorelai. She was forgettable and in some ways it was that fact that made it okay to leave her family behind. They wouldn’t forget she existed of course, but they would or rather had come to forget that she was a necessary cog in the machine.

Levi:
Smiling at last, the Italian drew his affectionate touch across her forehead like he was petting a cat. “Why would I lie?” he said, his voice so slow it sounded like he was purring. “I tell you nearly every day you’re beautiful.”

Lorelai:
“That’s just how you say hello. I’m sure you say that to every woman.”
What she was saying may have sounded insulting but once more the negativity of her remark was aimed at herself. She was unable to believe that he meant it, as she didn’t see a pretty or beautiful woman when she looked in the mirror. Before her turning that was. Now she saw nothing, which in some ways was fitting as this was what she believed she was.
A soft blush rose in her cheeks as she realised that Levi really might have meant it. If not when he said it in greeting, then when he’d said it just now.
“I like that you think me beautiful. I want to be attractive to you.”

Levi:
Levi let her first comment go even if he did want to jump down her neck about how he’d never say that to just anyone. Granted, he did include Prudence in his pleasant greetings from time-to-time but that was because he was trying to be nice and convinced himself that it was effective. Besides, he rather doubted Prudence knew what the **** he was saying because if she had, she probably would have questioned it by now or punched him in the face. Thus, it was easy just to let it go.
“I’m far too shallow to put up with you if you weren’t,” he said with a smirk. He wasn’t joking.

Lorelai:
She lightly shook her head and sat up so that she could look him in the eyes.
“Oh no. I don’t believe you to be shallow. You are too thoughtful for that.”
Lorelai climbed onto his lap and wrapped her legs and arms around him before hugging him tightly.
“We so rarely go out Levi that I cannot believe that you are with me, purely for the way I look. Not that you are with me. Well you are. You are here. Physically. I just mean… please don’t leave.”
Lorelai still believed he’d pushed her away because she’d said she loved him and so by saying what she’d said, she feared that she might once more upset him by implying that they were in a relationship when he was adamant that they were not.

Levi:
He had a feeling she wouldn’t believe him when he admitted he was shallow, so he plainly shrugged his shoulders at her. When she decided to straddle him, locking him beneath her legs, her wrapped his arms around her, his fingers lacing together at her backside, palms facing inward. As Lorelai continued to talk at him, Levi steadily started to frown again. He felt like she was starting to pick at him and he didn’t take it well. He wanted to grumble at her again, but her sudden, desperate plea just made him sigh and avert his gaze. “I’m not going anywhere,” he murmured.

Lorelai:
“Are you only not leaving because I’m sitting you?” she asked, pulling back to look at him, her eyes filled with concern. “Do I need to move?”
She wriggled on his lap but she didn’t really move much at all. She didn’t want to let him go and so her cheek was once more against his as she hugged him to her.
“I don’t want to move. I want you here.” She pressed her lips to his cheek. “I’ve missed this. I’ve missed you.”

Levi:
Levi let his head fall, feeling the friction of their flesh glide against one another as his lips come to rest on her shoulder. He kisses her gently, breathing long and slow and heavy. He didn’t have any words for her though.

Lorelai:
She didn’t mind the silence. He neither confirmed or denied his intention to leave, at least not vocally. The fact that he now kissed her shoulder however told her that he was willing to stay for now and that was the only real commitment she ever got from Levi. She could rely on him to visit every day. Several times a day even. But he generally came and went on his own schedule, something she understood and accepted as he was a very busy man. She felt lucky that he carved out any time for her at all and luckier still when he’d come and see her when she needed him; which she sometimes did, even if it was mainly because she was upset because Pru had not visited in a couple of days.
“What were you like as a boy Levi?” she asked out of nowhere.
He didn’t seem to like to talk about himself at times but she was curious. She could picture him as an obstinate child, full of curiosity and frustration because he didn’t already know all there was to understand of the world around him.

Levi:
The question came out of the blue and his breath stilled across her skin as he thought over a response. It wasn’t that he was busy searching for a lie, just that he didn’t know how best to sum up his childhood when in reality, he hadn’t changed much. He just learned more, perhaps became more cynical and smarter about his choices, but deep down inside he was still seeking out the same things. Levi nuzzled against the crook of her shoulder, still buying time to come up with some magic explanation, but all he kept coming back to were the same few words, so he voiced them unashamedly. A part of him knew that she wouldn’t believe him anyway, so there was no point in trying to put a better spin on things. “Not much different to how I am now,” he breathed, his low voice rumbling across her skin. “Just stupid and naïve and ballsy.”

Lorelai:
She enjoyed his attention and was completely unaware of the fact that he was stalling for time. But he was right. She wouldn’t believe him. At least not about part of it.
“I can imagine you much as you are now. Only as a child. Though stupid and naïve are two words that I would never use to describe you Levi.”
She withdrew her arms from about, her delicate hands coming to rest on each of his cheeks before she kissed him ever so tenderly.
“You are very intelligent and responsible. You take very good care of me. You almost always take away my hunger so that I don’t have to try and drink blood packs. You have no idea how much that means to me.”

Levi:
Umber eyes rolled in his skull at the word ‘almost’, like she’d just delivered him a slap to the face and he was expected to take it. He couldn’t hide his reaction from her though, not while she was staring right at him. Levi took hold of her hands and slid them down his face, down into the shallow space between them. “Glad I help,” he said rather indifferently.

Lorelai:
“Oh Levi. What did I say?”
Her eyes stared into his, a soft sadness hidden within.
“I never mean to upset you and yet I always seem to say things that do.”
She thought over what she’d said. She’d caught the eye rolling and was only now realising at what point in the conversation it occurred.
“You can’t always be there for me Levi. You’re a very busy man. I know that. I accept that. I appreciate everything you do for me.”
She leans in attempts to kiss his lips.

Levi:
Since he didn’t have much to say that wouldn’t make things worse, he hummed and nodded. Lorelai leant in to kiss him once again and he kissed her back – fleetingly. He would have liked to change the subject, but unfortunately, he had nothing to say.

Lorelai:
She set her forehead against his, trying to maintain the intimacy between them. She gently squeezed his hands and sighed ever so softly.
“Levi… if you had a child. A boy. What would you name him?”
Lorelai it would seem was full of questions. She wanted to know what he was like as a child and now she wanted to know what he’d name his son. While it might have seemed odd to most people, Levi included, Lorelai had her reasons. She wanted a child. A son to replace the one she’d lost and she could feel that the time would soon be right to accomplish this goal. She’d been planned out many ways to get a child but this latest idea seemed the best she’d had yet and she was only days off putting it into action; not that anyone she loved knew this.

Levi:
The characteristic frown of his made its grand appearance; a look between serious consideration, confusion and frustration. Levi watched the blue of Lorelai’s eyes, hoping to find the motives behind her questions tonight. She was clearly clinging to the child issue, to the love issue, to him not leaving her. It made it sound like she was trying to create a family with him. If it wasn’t bad enough that Lorelai barely knew anything about him before she’d threw the L word at him, now she wanted kids? And of course, with her being the traditional type, that probably meant marriage too. ****. Lorelai was crazy. Levi sighed heavily. “Why are you asking all these questions?” he asked her cautiously.

Lorelai:
“You said I didn’t know you. I want to know more about you. My sons name was Leo. Not that he ever heard me say it.”
She was all too quickly fighting to hold back tears and so rather uncharacteristically withdrew from him. Lorelai moved form off his lap, climbing out of the bed and ever began to set about the task of dressing in a fresh set of underwear; something she could sleep and wake in the next day without embarrassment.

Levi:
He felt like biting off his own tongue for having asked, but it was a valid question even if having her answer had upset her so much. Levi didn’t move from his place on the bed, but he watched her carefully as she set about getting dressed. He wasn’t good in these situations. This was completely out of Levi's range of skills. He didn’t know how to comfort this woman before him, wounded and abandoned. So he watched Lorelai’s hands, wondering if he should answer her earlier question, though the chances were slim that anything he could say would make it better. Truth was, he never really thought about having kids. He liked kids, he just didn’t have the time for any of his own and he couldn’t imagine that he’d do a better job than his father did raising him because they were exactly alike. Levi didn’t like the idea of his own child hating him, yet he didn’t think that concept even registered in his father’s mind.

Lorelai:
Levi was being quiet but no quieter than usual. Having dressed or bed, she set about tidying the clothes that lay strewn around the bedroom. She deposited certain items in the laundry and hung others on pegs on the back of her door. Levi’s clothing was hung on hangers and then the hangers were placed on the hook.
Her own silence wasn’t frustration filled as one might assume. It was emotional. She knew that if she opened her mouth to speak at this point that the tears she was holding back might escape and she was reluctant to let that happen. Not now. Not with Levi here. If the desire to cry persisted she already knew that she would have to excuse herself and shed those tears in private; probably under the pretence of needing a shower; something that would seem strange what with her already having put on fresh underwear.

Levi:
Since Lorelai wasn’t quick to say anything at all, Levi had to assume that this problem between them wasn’t going to blow over that easily. If he wanted to help her out, ease the tenseness and sadness, he would have to meet her half way and say something. But **** if he wasn’t dry for options. “Leo’s a good name,” he managed. “A strong name.” He rubbed the back of his neck before crushing his back into the pillows. “I never thought about having kids, so… I don’t… I haven’t got a name to give a kid.”

Lorelai:
“Oh,” she said with a slight nod in his direction. Her hair had all fallen forward and she was yet to push any of it from her eyes. “I would explain to you my child’s name but I’m not sure you want to hear it.”
She knew he didn’t like her talking about CC. She didn’t much like talking about the woman herself but Leo… She’d liked Leo. Truly liked him and was rather saddened by his death.
The tears began to well up and as much as she tried to hide her feelings, it wasn’t long before she was trying to wipe the salty water pools dry with the backs of her hand. Gestures she tried to do as discretely as possible.

Levi:
Maybe he should have done more to control himself, but it was too late for regrets as he let an angry sigh loose. If Lorelai knew he’d be pissed about her mentioning it, that probably meant it was to do with Pru or CC. Wasn’t everything? On the plus side, at least she recognised that it pissed him off. He should probably have asked her to explain it regardless of his feelings, but Levi was a creature devoted to its own needs and the thought barely registered with him. So, once again, he sat there in silence watching her dither about.

Lorelai:
When he didn’t urge her to continue, she simply nodded to herself. The woman came across as slow and she knew that her knowledge in a great many areas was lacking but she was far from unintelligent. However that wouldn’t help her in that moment. Neither would her unusually high willpower, as the loss of a child was something too painful to be ignored.
“Please excuse me,” she said as she moved to the bathroom door. “I need to wash my face.”
She entered the bathroom, closing the door behind her. Switching on the water, she waited for the sound to echo in the smallest room in the flat before she seated herself on the side of the bath and let the tears begin to flow.

Levi:
Levi wasn’t good with people and he sometimes missed those basic signs when someone was upset or feeling vulnerable and needed help. On the other hand, maybe it wasn’t that he missed those basic signs, but blatantly ignored them. In the face of such discomfort, Levi didn’t know what to do or if he should even do anything, and besides that, it became a matter of calculating the difference. Should he sacrifice for someone else? Battling with his pride wasn’t something Levi enjoyed and besides that, it was stupid. He watched Lorelai conceal her tears and disappear into the privacy of the bathroom to shed them properly, then he sank his gaze into the duvet. It took about four seconds to will himself out of the bed and by the time he was standing he was questioning his motives.
Just what was he going to do now he was up? Getting dressed would be a good start. It also gave him more time to think, more time to form a plan. By the time he’d pulled on his shoes and laced them up, Levi had determined that now would be a great time to leave. Lorelai obviously needed her space if she retreated to the bathroom. But, he’d learned that leaving Lorelai was asking for trouble, so he found some paper and wrote her a note before he left the apartment: Won’t be long, needed to get something. It was a good enough excuse to get him out of there.

Lorelai:
Had the blonde considered her actions she might have realised that it was kind of obvious what she was doing and even if it wasn’t, vampires had heightened senses and Levi could probably hear her crying over the sound of the running water.
When she emerged from the bathroom more than five minutes later, her cheeks were flushed but her heart was lighter. Until she read his note that was and realised that her actions had driven him away. She hadn’t meant to let her grief overshadow her, but then people rarely did. If she were honest with herself she’d realise that she was actually doing better now, since her turning. That her grief, while ongoing, had lessened a little.
With Levi gone, Lorelai set about the task of making the bed and then seated herself on one of the corners while she waited to see if he’d return.

Levi:
Typically, the thing that came to mind in the face of a grieving woman was to present her with flowers because pretty things apparently had the strength to console a damsel in distress. As it happened, Levi had tried that **** before, however, and Lorelai did a terrible job at feigning gratitude. That memory soured in the Italian and he smoked his cigarette down to the root before tossing it into the street. Heavy footsteps punched into the asphalt as he crossed the street toward the florist he’d visited once before; on Valentine’s Day as it happened. This time, Levi decided he was going to get her a living plant, one she could add to her collection.
Levi didn’t really like flowers since he’d had hay fever as a Human, but his discerning umber eyes were drawn to the bell-like projections of pink flowers hanging majestically in a mass of emerald leaves. He recognised the plant as a Fuchsia, but that was about all he knew and he couldn’t even remember why they looked so familiar to him. He just had this feeling that he knew someone who liked fuchsias and if it weren’t Lorelai, then maybe she’d come to love it. Levi shrugged his shoulders, picked up the large heavy plant in its decorative porcelain pot and took it to the register.
He didn’t really want to chit-chat, but the woman insisted making a spectacle out of him; some large, scary looking man carrying such a pretty pink plant was something funny apparently. She was lucky he didn’t shoot her. He got out of the shop and around the corner, making sure no one would see him as he tomed back to Lorelai’s apartment.

Lorelai:
She heard his arrival, soft as it was. Even if she wasn’t attuned to him in some ways, she’d of recognised his return due to the additional signals that came with him.
The blonde fidgeted on the bed, her fingers running over her legs and smoothing out the material of her skirt.
What are you doing? Aren’t you going to go see him?
No.
Why not?
He may not be here to see me.
Oh. Well I guess that’s true. He could just be stopping by to use one of the portals.
Mmhmm.
But he might not be.
I’ll just give him a moment.
Nice. Wait and see. I mean he knows where he left you. Us.

Levi:
He was expecting to see her where he always did, sitting in the living room or tending to something in the kitchen or whatever. When he didn’t see her there, he put the plant down and headed for the bedroom. He wasn’t sure if she was still in the bathroom or not, but he had to check. The chances were that once she noticed he’d gone, she might have run off to find Prudence or whatever. Least he could do was check. He made it to the bedroom door and stopped, deciding it was better to knock and call for her just in case. “Hey, you in there?”

Lorelai:
She heard his voice as he knocked and smiled to herself. Jumping up from the bed she practically ran to the door. Before opening it, she took a second to compose herself, her hands running through her hair to smooth the unruly locks. Pulling the door open, she gave him a humble smile.
“I… I wasn’t sure if you were coming back.”
She stepped forward and took a hold of his hands, bringing his right hand up to her face before pressing her cheek against it.
“I do hope you aren’t upset with me.”

Levi:
She opened the door and instinct made him step back like she might be coming at him with a knife; chicks were crazy after all. When she came at him with delight in her eyes though, Levi had to relax somewhat. She took his hand, raising it to her cheek, but he didn’t need her to guide him. His ran his thumb down her cheek to her jaw line, lifting her head up a little more than it had to just to look into his eyes. He stepped closer to her then, an arm slipping around her waist and pulling her against him. He leant down to kiss her, to break off the tip of her words which would cut like a knife if he let them linger in their thoughts. “You ok now?” he whispered once the kiss ended, but he hadn’t really backed up much.

Lorelai:
Lorelai was more than a little thrilled to be back in his arms. She hadn’t really been expecting him to be so kind to her. They had a way about them, or rather Levi did, blowing hot and cold from one moment to the next. While most women might pull away and give up on a man like that, Lorelai preserved; always hopeful that the next time that she saw him would be in one of his hot moods.
“I’m much better now thank you. You are so kind to ask. And you? Did I upset you? Are you okay?”
His lips against hers had almost pulled all her thoughts from her mind, so her words while always soft, took on an almost ethereal tone as she spoke them.

Levi:
“You didn’t upset me, don’t worry about that,” he said, keeping his voice low as he nuzzled against her.

Lorelai:
The way he was acting made it very difficult for Lorelai to think about anything of any substance. His closeness put her immediately at ease. As he nuzzled against her, she wrapped herself around him as much as was possible and just allowed herself to enjoy the moment.
“I… made the bed… But we could unmake it if you like?”
Her tone didn’t change, but she was unable or rather unwilling to look at him at this point. She didn’t need him in the way she had earlier. She’d be just as content to curl up in his arms and just rest. Though the meaning of her words were open to interpretation, and she’d happily go along with whatever it was he desired to do with her.

Levi:
Levi moved to kiss her softly on the forehead. His hand slipped down from her chin, along her arm and to her other hand, clasping it warmly and intertwining their fingers. “Maybe in a bit,” he murmured and then stepped back, letting go of one hand so she could walk alongside him. “Come into the kitchen for a minute.”

Lorelai:
The timid female was a little disappointed when he pulled away but she didn’t let it show, choosing to follow at his side as he escorted her back to the front room, to the kitchen area. Her eyes fell upon the plant almost immediately what with its pretty shades of pink and ornate pot. It was very pretty but even though it sat on the counter, in her kitchen, she didn’t assume that it was for her.
“Did you want me to make you something?”

Levi:
As they entered the kitchen, Levi kept an eye on her expressions to see what she would make of the gift he’d bought her. Truth be told, he was a little anxious about what she would think about it. The last time he’d bought her a gift, after all, it hadn’t gone down too well. He clearly wasn’t all that skilled at making gifts to people, or at least not to this person in particular. Weren’t women supposed to be balled over by flowers and ****? Mio dio. Why did Lorelai just have to be one of the awkward ones? Levi sighed a little frustrated when she ignored the plant and asked if she wanted him to make something. What the **** was with that reaction?
Levi held onto a growl in his throat, wondering if this was a product of her upbringing or the way he treated her, but as far as he could tell, he never asked anything of her. “No,” he said finally, trying his damndest not to sound as pissed as he was. “Over there.” He pointed to the plant then. “Do you like it? I thought it could add to your collection… or whatever.”

Lorelai:
Lorelai overlooked the frustration in his voice. She had always preferred to see the best in people and with Levi, she had noted, a lot of the time his moods had nothing to do with her. When he gestured to the plant she smiled and squeezed his hand.
“Oh! That’s for me?” she said as released her grip on his fingers and went to admire the plant.
She practically hugged the thing, as she held the pot with unnecessary tenderness and pressed her face in close to the flowers so that’s he could take in their scent.
“It’s lovely,” she said without looking back at him.
Her fingertips lightly caressed some of the petals and then fell to inspect the leaves before she pressed them into the soil to see if the plant needed watering. It didn’t and her fingertips came out stained with the rich, brown substance.
“Did I do something to deserve this?” she asked as she moved to rinse her fingers under the tap.

Levi:
Finally, she realised the gift was for her. Levi let out a relieved sound and just watched her from the doorway. At least she seemed actually happy about this plant, even if he had just technically bought her an extra burden. That’s the difference between buying flowers and buying plants as far as Levi could tell. With a flower, they’re just pretty until they’re dead. With a plant, you have to look after it. Mind you, it couldn’t hurt to have Lorelai put her mothering instincts into one extra plant. Levi shrugged at the thought immediately, but took his time in answering her question. “You were sad. I wanted to do something for you.”

Lorelai:
“You are so very kind,” she said as she dried her hands.
The blonde looked at the plant once more and then ran to Levi and threw her arms around him.
“Thank you for my gift. I truly appreciate it. And I promise to take good care of it.”
She nuzzled his neck before trailing soft kisses up his throat before pushing herself onto the tips of her toes so that she could kiss his lips.
“Thank you Levi.”

Levi:
The sudden attack wasn’t exactly unexpected, so Levi braced himself for impact as Lorelai ran up to him and embraced him, smothering him with kisses. It was a little much, so the Italian patted the small of her back in return and then stroked the waves of blonde hair that fell down her back like a sunlit waterfall. “Prego,” he said immediately before addressing it in English. “Don’t worry about it.”

Lorelai:
“I love the way you speak,” she said smiling up at him. “Will you stay with me today?”
The question came seemingly out of nowhere, but dawn was approaching and Lorelai could think of nothing better than leading Levi back into the bedroom, even if it was just to curl up beside him and sleep. Of course she wouldn’t know if he was there or not and she would be gone by sundown when her curse pulled her to the sticky table top across the city.
“I’d very much like for you to stay,” she added, in her familiarly innocent tone.

Levi:
Levi frowned at her first words, but was a bit more comfortable by the next. To his knowledge, she barely ever commented on his speech. It wasn’t odd for her to ask him to stay over though and he had agreed to from time to time. When Levi had moments to spare or just couldn’t be bothered to get up, he would stay over, awake through the dawn hours. He’d maybe watch her sleep for like half a minute before boredom would take over and his brain would call him to do something productive. Since movement was limited during the daylight hours, he would have to be careful about where to go. Often he would find a place on the couch to do some work over his phone – pretend like he wasn’t some Vampiri. Levi nodded his head and took hold of her hand, leading her back toward the bedroom. Her tone suggested that she just wanted to sleep, so, he was comfortable with that.

Lorelai:
Lorelai moved into the bedroom with Levi and set about the task for readying herself for bed. She stripped herself down to her underwear, placed her clothes over a chair in the corner of the room and slipped between the newly made sheets. She enjoyed falling asleep with him. She missed this kind of interaction more than anything else. It was perhaps one of the things she missed most about her relationship with CC; this closeness. She would curl up on the woman’s lap and just be content. There was something enjoyable about the whole practise that Lorelai just adored. Of course Levi wasn’t CC and she didn’t want him to be. But when he indulged her in these sorts of requests, she really couldn’t have been happier. Once he was beside her, she closed her eyes and allowed herself to enjoy the intimacy of the moment before the darkness claimed her.
