The killer eased deeper into the recesses of the power plant. Eyes constantly scanning the roof and wall, ensuring they were stable. As he started a looping circle to bring him back to the small group that was trapped with him he heard a low moaning. Zeroing in on it he silently stalked forward. Another of Harper Rocks unfortunates lat trapped beneath a section of fallen concrete. The mans eyes were closed as small moans slipped from his lips. The concrete had landed just below his pelvis, everything from mid thigh down was crushed flat. There was no saving him, he was already dead, just didn't know it yet. As soon as the concrete was removed, he would bleed out out immediately. The weight of the block kept the severed vessels pinched shut, but it was offer for him. There was no remorse felt as Mordechai knelt next to him, fangs dropping into place. Lowering his head, the killer began the exsanguination early. There was no point in letting the blood just run out on the floor. At the last beat of the man's heart Mordechai rose, retracting his fangs and continuing back to the front.
A glance towards the group in the doorway showed them all still together, Suzette sitting beside Aly and talking with her, Azraeth keeping an eye on all. He did not know Suzette well, but if she had won Pru's trust, it was good enough for him. Once more he studied the pattern of debris over the entrance. There were two large slaps, pining the smaller pieces in place. He had often sat overwatch, the cross-hairs of his scope panning the area as combat engineers and sappers placed shaped charges to blast away debris, opening up areas for search and rescue teams. A few times the overwatch position had become lively. He had rained shot after measured shot, taking out would be assailants giving the engineers the time they needed to complete their jobs. Though he was only given rudimentary education in the use of explosives, some of the grateful engineers had spent time explaining to him what they did, how and why the charges were set, and what the expected results were. Picking up a rock from the ground, he worked his way to the first slab. A few more moments of study, and he made an 'X' on the slab then dropped the stone. There had been no after shocks for a while now, and closing his eyes he drew and focused his energy. Opening his eyes, he exhaled has he slammed his bare fists in to the concrete, releasing the stored energy. A cloud of dust billowed as a resounding ~CRACK~ split the air.
Standing, Mordechai grabbed the broken pieces and tossed them easily to the side, nothing left of the once immense slab weighed over four hundred pounds. This was a unique application of his power, always before he has used it to bore straight downwards into the sewers, but it appeared to work sideways just as well. Moving to the second slab the killer again studied the angles, then marked an 'x' with another stone. Settling down to his knees, Mordechai closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he focused his energy once more. Opening his eyes he stared at the "x", then with an exhalation slammed his bare fists into the concrete slab, shattering the center and blowing the edges out of the way. Rising again he set about clearing more of the mid- sized chunks, tossing them to the side. Dusting his hands, the killer glanced back at the other three, then turning back moved to the side of the remaining pile. Carefully he made four more 'x's, then moved back towards the group.
Reaching out with his mind as he moved, he again appraised his kennedy. She still faired well. "We are almost clear, I will be to you soon." He whispered to her mind. Mordechai slowed as he neared the group, squatting on arrival. "I think four more hits will clear the rubble from the door. I can do at least one more, if you could assist with the final ones, Suzette?" His eyes turned towards Aly, I found but one other, a human. He was beyond help. I eased his passage." Standing again the killer stretched flexing slightly to ease his muscles as he nodded to Azrael. "I am sure most of us could have easily left here, but this is a good source of food for those of us that have no desire to feed on weak blood. Left to the humans, they may never have reopened an entrance, and without one the derelicts cannot gather." He gave a shrug as he turned back, a memory slipping to the surface. "My apologies Suzette, my mind was otherwise occupied when I made introductions. I was more concerned on the stability of our situation, and our ability to clear the door. Azrael, Aly, this is Suzette. Though she is not of our lineage, Pru has 'adopted' her, and put her under her protection." Once more he nodded to Suzette "No slight was intended, you are instrumental to our situation."
