Looking at Stagger I tried to show respect as I examined him. "I don't hack, but I read between the lines. You'll find enough if you read between the lines. If you see a vampire connected to a business then that vampire is connected to that business either through ownership or partnership. This means that it could be a very bad thing for a human. If they are associated with old places then as Harper Rock expands it's safe to presume they're part of the expansion. Maybe they even had a bigger hand in it than the older part. Again, more reading between the lines," people just had to open their eyes. It was sad that I was being the sensible and moral compass in this city.

"You're telling me. Hero of the city. There may not be savin' this place Danny. Talk about going to hell and back, man." My Dark Friend chimed in, but he had a point. At some point I became a morally valid person in the city from a biblical sense. That was just ten shades of wrong. I wasn't a hero or righteous by any definition of the word.

When Stagger brought up war Daniel nodded in agreement. "Nor I. If there's a war the humans have to be outright ruthless and better trained. That will take time. We shouldn't be at war with them. Strike at the worst of them maybe, but not war." A war would have killed the human populous. Stray reports of people being hospitalized hit different message boards. These were the vampires being kind or in small numbers. Imagine if they were mean and in large numbers. The term "decimation" came to mind.

"I would like to learn. Let's find a deserving straggler or a gang banger. We can talk and go from there," I offered when he made mention of leaving. It was time to go.
