She worried her lip between her teeth, chewing on it before she looked back to the woman she was sitting with. Did she have a family? For Saige it wasnt something she normally thought too much about, the fact that her human family had died when she was young and Saige had basically taken care of herself from the age of fifteen and a half. Emancipating herself from her foster care, she went on to graduate high school early and got accepted into a fancy arts program that offered her both the business and imaginative aspects of the study she loved so dearly. Letting her lip go finally, she licked over it before she smiled lightly. Of course the woman had a family. It would have been too sad of a thought for Saige if the woman didnt.

She looked back to the main event, the fireworks starting to pick up in sets of two, to sets of three, and so forth. It was clear the finale was coming, and Saige got comfortable again with her hands planted slightly on the blanket behind her, training her eyes on the night sky Saige grinned at the colors and sparks that make the crowd clap and grow with excitement. More and more explosions came, every color of the rainbow and then some dashing the black night sky in succession as they exploded, like someone was splashing colored fire against the atmosphere. She too sat forwards so she could clap, giving her own gasps here and there before they started to die down, the show itself fizzling out into nothing.

"Hey. Lady." Saige turned and looked, her face instantly dropping at the sight she saw of the people next to her. One was a little boy, no older than 5, and he had this glow about him. Not like an aura, or an ambiance, but a literal glow. He had glow stick fluid all over him. From his hands, to his pants, to his shirt, cheeks and chin. It was dabbled all over him. Clearly he had been chewing on his glow stick which had caused it to rupture and get the what was probably nasty tasting substance all over him. Saige blinked, bringing her eyes up to his mother who was standing next to him, looking up at the woman who looked entirely irate and was gripping the boys upper arm; though it clearly wasnt enough to bother the boy as he gave Saige a glowing grin. She struggled not to laugh at him, clearly the woman didnt think it was funny.

"Oh gosh... you should probably wash his mouth out soon... though they arent toxic, I made sure of it." She nodded at the woman, giving her an entirely innocent look. "What about his clothes?! They are ruined!" The woman wasnt so much shouting as she was just getting loud, and Saige didnt want to make a scene. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her small but thick walled, unsnapping it and riffling through the bills to pull out two crisp ones and offer them up to the woman who looked like she was about to blow smoke out of her ears at any point. "Is two hundred decent to cover it?" She asked honestly, unsure of how expensive the little boys clothes were.

The mothers eyes got wide as Saige held the money out, looking to the bills, then back up at her as if to tell her with her eyes that it was okay to take the money. Saige had plenty of it, and wasnt worried about the measly two hundred. If it spared the boy a beating, she would have given the woman all of the money in her wallet. "oh.. uhm.. sure. Fine." The mother said after a moment, reaching and taking the money from Saige before turning and hauling her trouble maker of a son off to probably wash his mouth out.

Her cell went off again, and she quickly snapped her wallet shut to exchange it in her pocket with her phone. Checking it once more, she smiled again, Kyrian had texted her asking her to stop by for some source codes he had managed to pilfer from a couple of the offices in the Newborough area earlier in the day. She giggled and typed in a quick reply of 'be right there', and shoved her phone back into her pocket. Thankful that she had a pen in her pocket from the documents she had signed at the Foundation earlier, she pulled it out and pulled out one of her business cards. Writing on the back of it, she smiled as she then tucked it safely under the glow stick that was still in between the two women who were still sharing a blanket.

"Thats my card, and thats my cell number on the back. If you ever need a shopping buddy, give me a ring!" She offered, still not knowing the womans name. But that didnt matter to her. She just was being herself, in making sure that the woman had a friend in this cold hard cruel world. She stood up slowly, brushing her skirt down and shoving her hands in her pockets as she smiled warmly at the woman one more time. "Thank you for letting me sit with you. It was a pleasure." And with that she turned, bouncing happily towards the back of the crowd to head to the station and make it to Kyrian's dwelling.

Mortll often wondered if she were just too stuck in her ways she had grown accustomed to being alone. All she had growing up was her great grandmother most of the kids shunned her in school their superstitions about her being a witch had kept many of them away. The many attempts she had made to fit in never ended well ending with the fiasco that sent her running from her home for good.

She had a few good friends here in harper rock the ones that understood her cynical and standoffish attitude . She wasn't sweet ,or nice , but she could not necessarily be classified as cruel either. Obnoxious now that depended on who she was talking to some people never seemed to get her strange sense of humor. She glanced over at the woman that had parked herself on her blanket wondering if maybe she might want to give herself a chance to know her.
She glanced over she was busy looking out at the crowd with a look of excitement on her face. Mortll felt a small smile curling the side of her mouth and quickly looked back up into the night sky as a huge burst of sparks plumed high above in a array of colors .The ohhs and ahhs of the crowd growing louder with each burst of light. The internal debate still raging in her mind. Should she speak to the woman? She glanced over at her again and decided to give it more time,

God she missed Wolfgang this was the type of thing she would have twisted his arm and drug him to. Her old friend had his family now and was wrapped up in protecting them. She had rarely seen him in the last few months then it was a quick call or just a glimpse of him and he was off again

Many of her childer had wandered off and fell into silence. Mason still called and visited. She hadn't seen Kendal in ages Wolfie dropped in then was gone as quickly as she had appeared. The rest had seemingly fallen off the face of the earth Even her crazy little Russian.

A small sigh escaped her and she quickly glanced over at the other woman assuring herself that she hadn't heard her in the midst of the loud booms of the fireworks. Jardin De Fluers was doing well the gardens and nursery there . The Home decorating business was booming .Dragons Lair stayed packed. Even La bete du Gevaudan Cafe Her small sidewalk cafe in Honeymead Market seemed to be doing well .Everything thrived except her personal life.

She opened her mouth and started to tell the woman her name then closed it quickly as she noticed the toddler on the next blanket over chewing madly on the glow stick the woman had provided him . He frowned as the taste hit his mouth wiping it from his tongue with his fingers then he stared at his hand . Mortll raised a brow as the child grabbed the stick and started squeezing the glowing insides out on his hands. as he shook the container it spewed onto his clothes he quickly tried to wipe it away forgetting that his hands was full of the gunk Mortll almost burst out laughing as he tried to wipe the spots on his clothes to only paint them more. His parents were oblivious to him they were wrapped up in the show he could have walked away and been gone in a second in that crowd and they would have not noticed .

Children that was something Mortll would never have no offspring no little ones running around with her eyes or looks Her family line ended with her she was the last of her family line. She glanced over at the woman she seemed to be one of the newer ones to this city. She doubted she had seen all the troubles that their kind had. When they were turned they had been given the the gift of eternity yet Mortll had seen so many burnout leave this life early earlier than they would have ever if they had remained mortal. So many had come in and burned so brightly to just fade away and never come back from the darkness .

Maybe the answers were not in the expectations of eternity but the living of each day and taking each one and its events into stride dealing with each challenge as it arose and let the rest of the world sort itself out. She reached up and gave the toddler on the next blanket a little wave and his chubby goo filled hand waved back at her . Mortll smiled and started to speak to the woman when the toddler's mother turned around checking on it. Mortll felt sorry for the little one as he was yanked up and the stick yanked from him . “This should get interesting” she thought to herself . The woman glared at the mess then turned her attention to the woman sitting beside Mortll as if it was all her fault she had not been paying any attention to her child .

Mortll sat there quietly as the woman glared at her companion , she had to fight back the smile that kept threatening to cross her face. She was half a mind to break in and tell the woman she should get a little more colorful herself it might improve her stick in the mud personality kids play kids get dirty and if you don't put your kids in play clothes dragging them out to the park you're a moron. She was just about as shocked as the cow of a mother that stood in front of them when the woman just pulled out a few hundred dollars and handed to the woman.

Mortll raised an eyebrow and clamped her mouth shut why would she do such a thing clearly the woman wasn't worth it . Then she glanced at the boy yeah but the kid was but she doubted that the money would be used on the kid . She watched as the woman huffed off with her kid in tow It was a shame the fireworks were pretty much done she was enjoying herself and the company had been well worth the time. It would seem odd to just start talking now and carry on a whole conversation . God knows she hadn't been good company . Why on earth would she start now .. she sat back again not that she had moved much when the angry woman had approached she had only laid her hand on the knife that was resting under the edge of the basket behind her .
