In the gauntlet, Pi against Zo. Zo got close enough to burn and poison Pi, Pi pushed her off and shot from cover. Now that could be due to Pi having next move, her preferring guns? I think. That's about the only thing I've seen. I also noticed my shadow has alot of powers that work from a distance, if she uses them it keeps her away instead of charging in. I'd love to test some melee options w/ cc. See what the odds are to get them close.

Yeh, CC and Blake - Blake got in close and burned CC with his flaming hands. CC had next move aaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnd............ shot at him.

LOL

I was just all wtf. Stab him woman!

And sure. I can chuck her in the gauntlet for you to mess with. I'll let you know how she's set and if you want me to change anything, let me know. Keep a track of all the battles - maybe in the bug thread - and maybe we can see if it's not working. :)

I don't think I'd call them saps. I get what you're trying to say, but I would have to disagree.

If CC is going up against someone who doesn't have a gun on them and does have a sword, she's going to charge straight in - and I presume they would do the same.
If CC is up against someone who has much lower dex than her, she's going to charge straight in, close the gap, get shot and not care just to get in there with the sword.
Even against someone with higher dex, she's going to activate celerity and try and charge right on in there to get up close.
If CC is forced into a gun battle, she's going to shoot for the legs to cripple them, so she can get right on in there and engage them in melee.

I would presume that the above is the same for all melee fighters. They're not going to piddle about with a gun if they don't have to. Problem is, the code doesn't seem to be allowing for any switch from one to the other from what people are saying here. Hence, wondering if it's a bug.
Yeah, but that's essentially ignoring the other fighter's stats. It's easier to maintain distance than it is to charge, and so not only are melee fighters at an initial disadvantage, but they also lose out on a turn in regards to attacks in order to close the distance between them and gun pref person. In losing that turn and attempting to close multiple times, gun pref person has the distinct advantage of just pounding the charger with bullets/powers.

I'll stick Ariel in there now, with no pref.

ETA: Yeah, it's bugged :)) Switching from firearms to guns or back does not happen at all.

As far as the Dex? I don't recall what the diff between Madison and Alexandrea was but I know for sure Alexandrea had higher dex than Odin. And only two out of 8 battles went to her preference of Melee.

I'm pretty sure Nix is right and it is bugged somehow, I don't think I have EVER seen a switch from guns to swords or swords to guns.
