I'm curious about this - if the intent was to blow things up, what was the point of placing sensor turrets, bear traps, poison traps, and other things that don't go BOOM all over the place?

Ditto that.
None of mine got hit, surprisingly, but couldn't this have also just been rp'd out without making tons of characters on grid actually step in them?

Grid and rp doesn't always have to match.

It's more fun when it does.

I tend to remember things better when it actually happens in grid to my character..

My character stepped on a bear trap. Hardly a big BOOM event.

Sure, you remember them more, but again....I'm not sure I follow the logic of bear traps being put down to blow up some chambers or w/e.

I tend to try and match grid to roleplay when possible. Alex's first death that happened on grid was driven by roleplay. (Birthing a fadebeast) And I have used things that happened on grid to add flavour to stories. I don't think everything HAS to match grid but I think it adds something when it does. And even though we are not suppose to use bugs ic, I am sorely tempted to write about Alex being haunted by the 'ghost' of Thomas. :))

Bear Traps and other traps are a bit 'underwhelming' in this case but until/unless David gives us or lets us make REAL bombs... better than nothing? The point imo was that innocent bystanders were injured due to the actions that were intended to damage the catacombs and bring about a change. What that change might be or could be is anyone's guess but irl terrorists don't care about who gets hurt when they are taking drastic action.

I don't think your charry has to have been injured to participate in this thread and I don't think you have to participate if you had a character that was injured. But it might be fun to channel that injury into a roleplay, have a place to vent whatever ic feelings your charry has about having had something so random and unfair happen to them due to the actions (whatever the intentions) of someone else.
