Re: Thank You Brick (Open to All)
"Business in what?" Simon asked and he pointe at several stores. If she wanted to hit any of them for something. He looked to her, "Why the blanket and pillow?" he was curious why she picked those few items. Everyone was possessive over different things.
"I like to wear a lot of black but purple is a good accent color. Black is stylish but I find myself always trying to pair purple with it." His dark eyes ran over the area then looked back at the Renee, "The beliebers wouldn't make it out. Like I give the little **** credit. Justin was passionate about the music before the fame went to his ego," Simon shrugged a little. He wouldn't go out to a concert by the brat, but the devil had to be given his due.
"Questions for me?" He had done so much talking Simon didn't want to bombard the poor woman. A breeze caressed the back of his bald head. Breathing hard his breathe danced on the wind, "What do you think of 'The Rock?" again Simon's name for the city came out.

"I owned a bar. I might open it back up some day." She did miss her bar and the income it brought but she ad other ways to make money now. "Well I've had the blanket all my life. It was given to me the day I was born and I have to have a pillow to sleep." She let out a giggle.
"Purple is a very pretty color. Stands for royalty and power." She could not help but laugh at the thought of the fans dieing. She could not even try to hide her feeling for them. "I like 'the rock' as you call it. It is very different from my home town."
She had plenty of questions for him but the hard part was where to being. "Are you from here? It seemed like the easiest question to start with

Re: Thank You Brick (Open to All)
"No I'm not from here, but I've lived here long enough. Harper feels like home now," Simon said with a cheery smile. His eyes looked toward the woman, "Why a bar? And what kind of bar? There's several. Was yours a pub? One of those trendy clubs that serves you drinks using more of a sensory experiment than anything else?" What kind of bar Renee ran would have told him more about Renee's person. The type of business she wanted to run would have told him what she was into. Business owners, especially small business owners, put their heart and soul into the business. What they sold, how they sold it, colors of the walls, etc. said something about the owner.
"Congrats on being able to keep the blanket. We should all be so lucky as to have something that is a window to our past somehow. It seems you have one of the oldest trinkets for your personal history." And he meant that. Being able to hold onto a tangible part of your past was no easy feat these days.
"Where were you from before? I spent a loooong part of my life in New Orleans then decided to hop on a train, see where it takes me. Got off and found myself in Harper Rock and that was a little over two years ago," he smiled to the woman then bowed his head. "I came out here for opportunity and found it in spades. Some of it good opportunity, some of it bad. Either case I'm no longer the homeless performer that sauntered into town needing food and money. I'm not rich these days but I'm well off," and that was true. Simon was probably never going to be like some people int he city. Some of them reminded him of the Dragon Smaug. How he lorded over a large pile of wealth that seemed endless. There were those here that felt like they had their own endless wealth. Maybe one day Simon would have been like those people but not any time soon.

"It was more of your 'come in, sit down, drink if you want, if you don't its cool.' I'm not much of a drinker but back home we had places like that where people could just hang out and relax and I wanted a place like that here." She smiled think back on how things where.
"I'm from a small town in Virginia. It was quite but not much there so after college I left."

"Where'd you go to college? What was your concentration in?" Simon was kind of quiet when it came to education. He had a GED and nothing more. Still it was interesting to hear what someone studied and why they did it.
"How did Virginia treat you? And I like the sound of this bar. You should consider building one here. Just a place that people can kick back, and all that jazz. Sounds like heaven with a tap," he smiled at the woman. "Tell me something random about yourself too, whatever you feel like sharing."

Re: Thank You Brick (Open to All)
OOC: Doing replys on my phone so (computer isnt wanting to connect to the interwebs) so they wont be as pretty as I would like them to be. She thought back to time in college. She had ben younger then the others there mostly due to the fact that because she was homeschooled up untill that point that she started earily and finished far ahead of what was 'normal'. Hell she was done with her masters when she was only 20. "I went to Sweet Briar College for my undergrad and then Colmbia International for my masters programe. My majors where in archeology, anthropology, and religion and my minors where in tech theater, philosophy and the harp." She knew she sounded like a smarty pants when she named them all off but truth be told she was proud of her hard work she put into it."VA was fine. I lived mostly around farm land and there where churchs everywhere. Its pretty up in the park way." The last time she was there it had changed a lot but she chose to remember it as it had been. "I'm trying to save up money now to open one but that is easier said then done." She smiled at him as she started to laugh "Something random...hmmm...I have never been on a date in my life."

Re: Thank You Brick (Open to All)
"Well it's because you spent all your time making men like me look more foolish than we already are," Simon replied with a grin. He did not mind mocking himself once in a while. "But I've got to ask...Why the Harp? Is it just a passionate love for the instrument? Surprisingly good at it? Or were you able to break down the instrument and the notes in a type of numeric formula like some brainy based composers do?" What Simon referred to, in his oh so eloquent words, was that various mathematicians and the like would come up with original composed pieces based upon a numerical solution.
For a moment Simon tapped his chin and tried to think of something random, "I only have a GED, but I was a private school brat for many moons," he shrugged. Typically he didn't like to talk about himself in those times. Hell, back then he wasn't even called "Simon" even. The name "Simon" was chosen like a promise to himself that the old life was over. Vampires have often made similar promises over time given their immortality.
"How much to start the bar? How many figures will it set you back?"

Re: Thank You Brick (Open to All)
Renee smiled and let out a small laugh. "That could have something to do with it, though most of it is do to my father. He's a pastor so I wasn't allowed to 'date' and because I was homeschool I really didn't get much of a chnace to meet boys that I was not related to." She let out another chuckle as she pulled her jacket tighter around her. "Well truthfuly, the harp has a warmth to it that I have a hard time finding in other insterments. The drumbs are a bit too harsh for me. Your insterment, though I enjoy hearing it played, has a twang to it. The piano is cold to me. The violen has a whine to it. But the harp, even if it is a happy joyous song, a love ballet, or a sorrow filled mornful song, I still find a warmth to it." She laughs again "Its almost as if the sound is alive and wraping around me the way I have to wrap my arms around it to to play it." In truth she was unsure how much it would cost her in the end to have her bar, she new just the building alone would cost her about 50,000. "I just had a cousin donate 12,000 to it. So hopefully not too much more before I have enough saved up. Ive already got about 42 saved up.

Re: Thank You Brick (Open to All)
"I'll front you the other eight. I made about forty-five hundred in profits today and that was after spending money on the lotto, y'know the high class ritzy lotto and not the dollar scratcher stuff," he shrugged and figured the money could be earned back in time. He was saving up for something big so what was an extra week or two for that.
"We'll work out the arrangements of meeting or I'll wire it to you," Simon looked to Renee, "So your Dad didn't want his daughter 'defiled' because of what could happen due to the whole ten commandments deal. What would he say to you now all grown up?" the question was honest but a bit personal. If she didn't want to answer he wouldn't have minded. "And the Harp to you is the guitar and a few other instruments to me. Their sounds summon you like a siren. They can just engulf you, make you a slave to playing them. I know that sensation quite well," he grinned then his face soured as he remembered something. His eyes furrowed into a glare, "The violin is not whiny!" Oh he would defend that instrument but Simon did play it in private. However, everyone had their own opinions.
"So what's an instrument you wish to learn but have not? What has stopped you?" Simon had to remember he wasn't sure what Renee was. One could easily presume that a Rock Resident automatically equaled a vampire but that wasn't always the case.
As he walked Simon began to sing a song by David Bowie,

the damned Louis Vitton commercial had that catchy re-recording of the song. Simon figured someone just had to be high to pay that much for a purse."I'd ratherrr be hiiiggh. I'd rather be flyyyinnngg. I'd rather be deadd. Or outta my head,"

Re: Thank You Brick (Open to All)
Her eyes widen as he offers the money to her "You don't need to do that. I'll have the money soon enough." She thought about her parents for the first time in months. She was unsure why her dad didn't want her to date in all honesty. "Well if I were to ever talk to my father again I'm sure he'd want to know why I wasn't married and had kids yet." She had to laugh at the thought of what her father had said to her before she left. He had told her that a woman that was unmarried by the age of 20 was worthless. She busted out laughing when he brought up the violen. "I played as a child before I learned the harp." She thought of the bass. She did love the bass almost as much as the harp. "Well I always told myself that I would learn the bass but I guess I've just never had the time." As he sang she thought of reasent event in the city. She knew she should find out some more about him before she started to revile too much and possiably the fact of what she was. "Say do you believe in the supernatural?"
