Taking the chance to study her even as he finished speaking She'd seemed to be contemplating how to begin. Her hands had fiddled idly with the material of her skirt and then moments later and without further ado, the girl on the mat began to explain something of the origins of herself and the bloodline that followed...

As Keara spoke, Lions' demeanour changed. He had been lolled back somewhat comfortably but as She spoke he found himself moving forward and eventually sitting on the edge of his seat, his forearms resting on his knees, eyes round and an incredulous look plastered across his face. The words spoken had surprised him and yet excited him too and although almost bursting to butt in, he remembered his manners and waited for Her pause.

"Did I hear what you just said correctly?" he shook his head, maybe in an attempt to check he wasn't hearing things. "Are you actually saying you're.. well..." There came a noticeable pause " ...you're over two hundred years old?" He quickly scanned Keara over again. Surely this girl.. or should that be woman? ... surely She couldn't be much more than early twenties at the absolute outside? "How is that even possible?" Far from answering his question She'd just unearthed more questions, which in true Lions form he continued to blurt out.
"..and me... I'm Vedarian? ...you're sure? How many others are there in this... this... ...clan?" He liked the sound of that word, he felt it gave him something to tie a root to.

He'd noted the words Jonah and Maddra and assumed they were names, this had been the most he'd heard Keara speak so far and it was taking a little bit of deciphering as well as the fact it was going to take time to sink in anyway.

"Jonah? .... Maddra?" His voice now raised hopefully, if he'd understood Her correctly, then there were clan members that kept in touch with Keara that he might yet meet.

"Older I am than appearance foretells. That much true is. Born I was in late 16th Century England. Life much different was. Half a dozen or so vampires like me there are in city today, Elders the term of phrase is that applies to us I believe. Though while some clans several Elders have, in Vedarian line there is but me."

Her fingers still played with the material of her skirt but her eyes were firmly fixed on Lions as she spoke. He was refreshingly straight forward, especially for one she had only just met, and she liked that. From what she had seen thus far of her bloodline, honesty and straightforwardness seemed to be traits that many of them possessed.

"In answer to other questions. Yes, you of my clan are as my blood, to a lesser extent, flows through you. Though perhaps that not true is, perhaps essence a better word is. Sure of the specifics I am not. Just know that sense that I do.

Maddra Jonah's child is. Both nice people are. No problems have I had with them. No problems have I had with any of my line. Think this perhaps due to fact that most a little secretive are. Sociable as a whole we tend not to be. Though encourage I do that social we are, at very least, with one another. Able to support one another better we can, if relationships with one another established can be."

Keara was quite comfortable on the rug and as it was she didn't mind that Lions seemed to be edging closer to her. It was a typical sign of curiosity and she could hear in his voice that much of what she was telling him was new information and perhaps things had had never considered possible. It wasn't every day that the existence of century old vampires became fact as opposed to fiction. Even in these modern times where supernatural films seemed to fill the screens of cinemas the world over, there were few that would ever contemplate there being any real truth in such things.

Now She'd done it. Up until then Lions had been teetering on the brink of believing that this was all some kind of crazy dream and now ... well ... now. It was a difficult reality to come to terms with. So ... there was going to be no waking up in a cold sweat and heaving a sigh of relief, no daylight was going to banish this nightmare he'd succumbed to.

Lions sat in stunned silence as he began to digest fully what Keara had just divulged,
not only had he retained his sanity clinging on to the ideal that it may be just a cruel dream, also he'd harbored a thought at the back of his mind that if by some strange chance it wasn't a dream ... than at least it might just be an illness ... maybe even connected to the head trauma ... something for which there may have been some miraculous cure that would once again return him to normal and allow him to live as anything other than this creature ... this Vampire.

His addled brain sought to make sense of all he'd been told ... the young looking woman sat quite calmly opposite him on the rug toying rather off handedly with her skirt hem,had just claimed to be from a period in the 16th century ... and what's more She wasn't even claiming to be origin ... theoretically there could be others even older! Lions mood darkened as his mind struggled with creating a new -reality- in which he too might live for countless hundreds of years but for each day he survived a human somewhere had to have their 'load' lightened by an amount of blood that would be his sustenance.

In coming to terms with these thoughts he wondered what the impact of their survival was to the whole balance of the planets scales. " Keara? ... Just how many of us are there? ... I mean how many Vampires are in existance?" It appeared that Keara was indeed the Matriarch of this line and Her mention of Jonah and Maddra gave him hope that there were others that he could maybe commune with ... -should they be so inclined- ... It certainly wasn't sounding quite like an epidemic and he knew from the little he'd explored the City so far that there was indeed many people in relation to the number of 'pires he'd so far made the aquaintance of.

Finally as if resigning himself to the probability that this was indeed a permanent condition he found himself in. " I guess there's no going back then... " It was perhaps a question in his head ... but when spoken aloud it was very definately a statement.

Her fingers stopped as she considered his question, her head tilting slightly to the right as she contemplated what he had asked. How many of her kind were there? She knew the number stretched into triple digits, as she had seen her own line swell to that magnitude in the past and yet many of the young ones didn't make it in the long run. If the numbers came up into the thousands she wasn't sure, as she'd never stopped to count those she knew and recognised, let alone those she did not. If her days in the catacombs had taught her anything, it was that the number of those that had grown in strength was continually increasing, as the catacombs seemed far more crowded with every month that passed.

"An earnest answer I cannot give," she said as she straightened her posture and shuffled slightly where she sat. "Too many perhaps for one location and yet somehow manage we do. Hundreds perhaps best answer I can give you is. As know that there many are that rarely seen are and many who often heard are on public message boards. Should ask you that perhaps...If found your way to Crownet you have yet?"

It was a reasonable question to ask, as if he had to be pointed in the direction of home and she had not seen a post from him to announce his presence, it was likely that he either had no idea what the forums were or he had yet to stumble upon them. Crow was wise in his dealings and Keara was grateful that they had a safe space in which they could communicate with one another. No matter his motives, Keara was certain that if asked her for something he did directly, that grant his request she would.

Listening to Keara attempt to guess how many of their kind were in existance began to put things into a new perspective for him. It was becoming obvious that the numbers were swelling from her reply. At least he would not be alone in this 'adventure' ..... and more importantly .... he would not be the last to be turned either!

As the girl went on to speak of Crownet, Lions started smiling knowingly. Recently .... and quite by accident, he'd found himself privvy to this 'mine' of information and had begun to take tentative 'steps' around it. Only now did it's importance become apparent.

Ah yes! Since an aquaintance saw fit to give me a cellphone and an instruction to watch my bounty and stay out of trouble, I have had a few small forays into this Crownet. I'm presuming that if you're mentioning it, then it's most likely somewhere I should be investigating more closely?

As if to illustrate his point, he fumbled around in his pocket, eventually revealing the cellphone and a relieved grin.... It just wouldn't do to lose this little lifesaver and it's instant connection to the bounty page!

She listened as he explained what he had already learnt and wondered who the mysterious acquaintance was. Whoever they were they had at least made the effort to help a fledgling in need and for that she was grateful. When he began fumbling through his pockets for his phone, she began to consider walking him back into one of the other rooms that contained a computer so that she might walk him through the main boards on there. As it was, she was content that he at least knew to keep an eye on his bounty and waited patiently to see what else his phone was capable of, as if it were good enough, they need not go and sit behind a computer.

"Glad I am that know you do to check your status according to Crow. Know I do not how know he does what we do, or if he a he is. But...like the fact I do, that we the chance given are ourselves to govern. Are you the forums able to access too? If understand his system I do, only those of our kind those forums can find. Meaning we safe therein are our business with one another to discuss are."

She hadn’t actually tested it for herself but she had heard it said. She was grateful for Crow and all his assistance in bringing their kind together. Had she not had the forum with which to connect with her family when the darkness filled her heart, she might have given up long ago and faded back to the realm she despised so much.

As she waited to hear how familiar he was with the system, she considered how she could best help him this eve. He obviously knew the basics already and she was able to advise him further if he had any questions and ye she couldn't shake the feeling that she was missing something. As she casually glanced around the room, her fingers still working the material between them, she decided that if he had the time that she could perhaps show him around the Asylum. If he didn't have the time to spare she would have to make sure that he knew he was free to come and go as he pleased and could explore on his own when he was next home.
