Day three
Kyrie sat utterly still staring into the distance, seeing just ash and shadow. His face a completely void and loss. The first day he was filled with fear, and some with pain. His wound remained. A hole in his side, it would heal. Like everything. He barely realized he was unclothed. Seating still and staring into the distance. He had chosen to become merely another part. Becoming silent and letting his mind drift so far away that he sometimes forgot where he was.Sometimes, one can just bite off more than they can chew. He didn't even remember what it was he did. Just that, whatever he'd done. Resulted in his death. And now here he was. Not exactly dead. But definitely not in the world of the living. It resembled it, somewhat. He saw walls he recognized. Sometimes the environment looked similar. But it was like it was...undone. Accelerated into a dismal future perhaps? He wasn't sure. It didn't matter.
Day five-nine
He had found he could take spirits, giving him this feeling of more energy. And also finding it could help heal his wound. And as he did, passed by something that felt...like a way out. But he couldn't leave yet. He continued. And continued. Perhaps far longer than was really necessary. Spirit after spirit. Even when it no longer did almost anything. He kept going. Stumbling his way through the shadows as he gripped for anything that felt like it did was not simply another part of the environment.Day 14
He had finally regained some semblance of awareness after his time. He had overstayed his necessity of being here. And was plenty ready to leave. He spent hours trying to re-find his way out. Until finally, there it was. He felt like he was pushing himself through a wall, a wall that opened up to reveal light of a moon, shining until he finally cut his way through completely stumbling onto the ground and feeling the air brush over him.
At which point it occurred to him, he was utterly naked. He shut his eyes and let out a sigh staring at the ground, just grateful to at least be out. But at the same time, "Guess it was too much to ask that my clothes would come with me." he muttered quietly looking around. There was nobody here. He was in the Quarantine Zone, he saw that much. There was a river nearby, and the walls. He knew there was a transit nearby that he could take to a clothing station. But, on the other hand, he also knew that to get there he'd have to pass by numerous people.
And he was starving. His stomach called his attention, his thirst for blood overwhelming the reminder of his clothes. But then also came the fear of failing to feed, in this state, he'd be easily seen. And easily shot. "Marley." he muttered. He crawled his way, keeping to the shadows.
He focused his mind, and his body began to shift, taking the form of a Brown Pelican. His body seeming to shrink and his arms turning to wings. He looked around. Definitely true you were not liable to find a pelican here. Then again, a naked man running around wasn't a great thing either. he just wanted to stay hidden, pelican was smaller, to him and his thirst ridden mind that made sense. With that he rushed his way to the edge of the fence, gliding over the water to the other side.
Come on Marley, where would Marley be. He rushed his way to the forest. In this form he should be fine. But now what, he was still thirsty. And the thought of just going right in to feed on people was getting more and more tempting. He flew his way along the edge of the forest looking into the city, hoping for some reason as if he could see Marley.
Wait, he didn't need to. He just needed to get to his apartment. He could contact her from there. There was another ability more suited for that. He rose into the air, celerity was such a useful power. He shot across the city. Just about missed the apartment building. It was a useful ability, but hardly accurate. He rushed his way inside, into the elevator pecking his floor. Up up, down the hall, to the room, do the lock, inside, lock the door. Not an easy feat with how he was right now but he managed to do it without getting noticed. That was especially hard.
From there he took his time trying to get into contact with Marley. And then he sat down, and waited. His hunger ever constant, and yet somehow being the very thing that gave him an incredible amount of patience. As he'd had it so long in the Shadow Realm it almost became partially normal. It was much different here however. Perhaps because it was so close.
By the time she came through, bursting through the door and shutting it behind her locking it, unlocking it, then locking it again in frustration. He'd already shifted back into a human form, just laying curled up and staring blankly at the wall until she rushed over to him grabbing him by the shoulders.
His eyes shot to her neck, and his fangs grew. There was a released breath from her as the fangs dug in and he gripped his arms around her back.
"I thought you were gone. I didn't know what to do." She said. Marley wasn't supposed to be a thrall, it had just...happened. He had been, well truthfully, trying to flirt. He wasn't entirely sure what he'd done then. He wasn't exactly himself at the time. And then this just kind of...happened. A thrall. After that he felt too bad to actually try and continue any real relationship with her, assuming any sort of affection from her was due not to reality but due to his own powers. Not that he didn't try and be friends with her, but that was as far as he had been willing to go after his mistake. He had kept a bit of a better hold on his powers after that.
However in this moment, he was too hungry to consider this taking advantage. Sucking blood, pint after pint, until he felt he grip turn weak as he grew stronger. Until he realized that her life was starting to be sucked away by his own hunger he finally regained his mind and stepped back realizing she'd fallen unconscious. Holding his hands over his blood covered mouth as she fell against the ground from her sitting position.
He pulled her up, she was still very much alive, she seemed fine. He carried her into the bedroom and laid her down. "Well...that wasn't pleasant." He said before looking again at the fact he was completely lacking clothes, now that he was finally at his home and had his wits back and went to the closet and started re-dressing. He was back at least, in truth he was still hungry, but now that he was finally properly conscious, he needed to find a proper way of finding something to quench that thirst. Blood bags most likely. "Sorry Marley. I wish I hadn't caused so much trouble for you. We're both lost now aren't we. You're lost cause you're stuck with me, and I'm just lost in general."
He sighed and headed to leave the apartment, locking it behind him. He'd need some new weapons. And he'd have to find a new phone. Probably be a good idea to replace the spare clothes too. Finally, freedom again. And yet, he was still locked in this city. Well, life was going to be a little bit different now wasn't it. He wasn't sure yet how he had been effected by the shadow realm. His wound hadn't fully healed, that he knew for sure. But what else could be a problem.
