Just to update everyone about important changes regarding the territorial battle system. Short story: it's no longer turn based, and NPCs don't attack anymore (perhaps temporarily).
If you've ever tried your hand at this system you'll know that it works on a 2 moves each per team turn basis, and it switches to the other team's turn every 2 minutes, or when all players in a team have used their 2 moves. This is no longer the case. Instead, players are free to move as often as they like, and attack anyone they want once (and again once the target has moved, or 12 hours pass by). It's as live as people want it to be, which means you could take it 'live' and have a mass brawl between the two warring factions all at once, or you could take your time moving when you like. Either is acceptable.
Essentially, it's just the same as regular on-grid skirmish combat, but players are in a single room, and if they die / flee they are out of the battle.
Perhaps temporarily (while we decide how to work it) NPCs will no longer invade other territories. Their existing territories will also be easy targets, as they won't even fight back right now. So for the immediate future, this will be a PVP only system, until we decide if we want to add back in NPC invasions, and we work out exactly how to make that happen.
We realise this is a bit of a 180 on the issue of turn-based battles compared to the views I had about it a few years back, but we wanted all the fighting systems to eventually be one uniform system to make it less confusing. The turn based battles were also a bit convoluted and buggy, so we went with the simple option, which is "skirmish" based fighting.
The changes are untested as of this moment in time, but there shouldn't be any major bugs as it works on Blood of the Vampire just fine. However, we do plan on running some tests shortly. In the meantime, please report any bugs as you find them.
