Question about Notoriety
I think i inadvertently turned up my character's notoriety in the majority of the districts/neighborhoods of Harper Rock. Practically everywhere i go, the police and soldiers shoot on sight. I understand that in a world where zombies rise again and undead suck the blood of the living, the police will enforce a martial law (shoot and don't arrest)
While this is interesting for RP, the wound penalty accumulate quickly. it is becoming inconvenient to wait a couple days for the normal heal (not counting hunters).
My questions are:
1) is there a way to find out how disliked or vilified my character is at a given location without getting greeted by a military soldier or a police officer with a slug in the guts?
2) is there a way to decrease notoriety, such as bribing the right staff at the police department, hacking into the police database (or hiring someone to do it), or simply vanishing for a period of time until the police gives up the chase?
I suppose that i could stick to sewers and abandoned warehouses, but my character is aware that the life of a blood sucking hermit is bad for the mental health.

Re: Question about Notoriety
1) You can find out your notoriety through police database hacks (or have your character hire someone to do it).
2) Eventually, David and I plan to add a bribe feature yes. For now, the best way to lower notoriety is through hacking the police database (or having your character hire someone to do it). Otherwise the only way to drop notoriety is to wait, lay low, etc.

3. Hack law enforcement databases.
You (usually) need to be standing at a computer terminal in order to hack!
Otherwise, it will lower itself automatically each night that goes by without incident...

Re: Question about Notoriety
A couple things that come to mind:
1) Have you been spotted feeding? If yes, stick to blood bags for awhile. Might not hurt to do that for a bit either way.
2) What critters have you been beating on? Killing gangsters ups notoriety. Yeah I know counter intuitive, but the gangsters are bribing the cops it seems.
3) Have you been doing B&E? If yes, and you've killed guards, that will up it as well.
If none of these maybe describe things you have been doing

Re: Question about Notoriety
Thanks a lot for the quick responses.
It seems that I was shooting myself in the foot. I neglected the fact that doing illegal activities will reset the notoriety level again (B&E, spotted feeding, fighting zombies and gangsters in the streets).
Why do blood bags work? If i get spotted feeding and run away, then feed somewhere far, why would that raise my notoriety still?

Re: Question about Notoriety
As of last night Aero’s noterity was extremely high. I remember seeing him in one of my character’s hacks.
Blood bags work because you buy them in a black market shop so no ones seeing you attack someone.

Also it's not separated by just one part of the city or the other. When your notoriety is high, they will shoot no matter what part of the city you're in. Another good thing to help a little is to kill zombies. Lots and lots of zombies.

Re: Question about Notoriety
The security level of the area has a lot to do with getting spotted feeding, however. If you need cash to buy blood bags, pm me and I'll have Alex send you some. But please, just buy blood while you're still new. It's not worth the risk of getting a critical wound and then losing out on a week's worth of pxp and et all. <3
For B&E, unequip the weapons and set the battle tactics to flee asap and never use powers - while you're in that mini game. Better to run from the guards than accidentally kill them.
Killing the zombies is GOOD. Keep doing that! <3 IT's 'human' type NPC's you gotta watch out for. (Cops, guards, gov. agents, etc.)
