So.. from a players point of view.. who is new to the game..
It makes no sense to the players of vampire characters.. that a Human can Crit a vampire; but a vampire cannot crit a human.
That in a nutshell
Makes no logical sense. And that is why it keeps coming up.
Humans were added to the game later.. after the powers were set up. So I understand the mechanics of it.
But from the point of view of a new player - a human cant be crit'd is 'wrong' (for lack of better word) and then the discussion automatically turns to 'humans are over powered' etc.
Humans and critical wounds.

Because it took a few days for someone to find and send it. It was replied to the thread for general acknowledgment after being sent to a mod.

They do receive consequences of their actions by getting attacked in retaliation and injured. Even if they did get them on grid, there's pretty much zero need for it as they don't feed like a vampire does. You're welcome to play out your own wounds to be critical, I'm sure, and I do know there's an amputee curse but it'd be an unnecessary mechanic imo.
Sorcerers and Blood thieves are able to heal any trace remaining wounds, any how? With how many vampires and violence run around in the city, I'm sure HR would have had some of their species on staff.
Path is not a grid based game, either. You don't even have to acknowledge it if you really didn't want to other than to make sure your character hasn't gone into inactive or vacation mode.
But grid big part of it. Like talk smack, only fair way hand it with gird action . As well you cant have a power to rp if don't have them on the grid. Grid makes fights fair without it what happens is horrible godmodding an power spamming. One reason I like this game. Not rping out some killed you for actions you chara did in play or on grid is kinda like ... in my mind disrespecting the whole game David built.
But at the same time, people don't have rp with you if they don't want to. But can make in-game actions the effect your chara via the chapter and getting in play things the effects the world. But you cant take from them or stop them from using it. Not be mean but seem like hiding hide behind rp be not rping out things when they do that. But the did earn them on the grid not right to just rp rip them from the either. So again grid plays a big role so have to acknowledge it and rp. Rp effect the grid and grid effects rp.
So as well grid action helps balance it out in my eyes. People can come find you on the grid a make pay for actions they know Ic you did but don't want rp it out and likewise. its great was deal chara conflict too. Why I like fight forum thing David added too. You cant be the big boy on the forum not deal with action there either. If was just rp game there point to the grid at all. It be forum based rp site like many all over the web. The grid and story make this game very different and adds a huge importation part to the game style to it.

Re: Humans and critical wounds.
That's not true, at least not any more.
Path has a roleplay battle system in place now which David created that takes place specifically on the forum - Blood on the other hand focuses on grid and PVP aspect. I'll admit I haven't used the roleplay system yet nor am I completely used to ARES or the GM system, I may in the future, but for me right now, grid is easier. I don't like new things, change takes time to be adapted to.
But just a note, we should probably have this stay on the topic of humans and critical wounds - which I do believe it's been answered now?

Powerplaying and godmodding has nothing to do with not acknowledging another player or characters actions on the grid; it means that someone is playing their character stronger than they actually are in the game or that one is controlling another character without permission.Aden-OCarrol wrote:But grid big part of it.
