Tomb Raiding discussion and feedback

Post by Llangort (DELETED 6420) »

Figured I might as well start a thread about it.

Got to level 7 before I came back from lunch in a minor food coma and walked straight into two errors of judgement. Oh well :)

Delightful addition, definitely loving the setup, process and content. Difficulty suits my play style, and avoids the relative boredom I've had with BnE lately... barring hunting for specific loot needs, another story.

I particularly like how it is at least theoretically possible for a non BnE character to *facepalm* complete a single tomb lol

Feedback:
As a vampire without an armlet, the length of my stay without losing PXP becomes severely dependent on my anima, and other vampires might not have powers to supplement blood levels. Is this an intended limitation? I suspect I would love to see something a bit like the fountains every few levels... or maybe rats to feed on???

Would be interested to find out how other people are finding the tomb break in difficulty.

Made it to B7 and along the way got a 15/9/7 weapon, I can see putting further effort iinto it will be a thing for me. Very much need to clear more out of my inventory for the next trip haha

I didn't even think about the blood issue, but I do agree that maybe something like the fountains should be implemented.

As for my feedback: I enjoy it. I haven't made it that high yet, though. I've only gotten to three before I make a few mistakes and run into those deliciously fierce guardians. I'm hoping to give it another go tomorrow when River my girls are at full energy.

I'll have more feedback as I advance, I'm sure. :)

I'm not one to gauge xp much. How are you finding the xp?
I didn't get very high up, but the loot sucked. I spent 50k for just under five hundred bucks in return. I can't gauge the xp, as I'm m sure I only got to the one floor, due to some key thing.

50xp full clear per tomb first level, got up to 60 or 65 by B7... 225 or so pieces of loot from all that got me about 25k including one weapon worth $2395. The exp is comparable to equivalent BnE difficulty locations... off the top of my head.

So cash wise, the reward comes from deeper levels, and the random good weapon finds.

The exp is actually slightly better than the usual B&E's.

David mentioned that by the time you get lower, you're making ~100exp per tomb.

I really need to get higher to be making that kind of reward, though, for cash. At this rate, I'm not going to be able to afford to keep going because the cash reward isn't adding up to the amount I have to spend of a poor key. xD

Pretty much that. The only ones who can afford to keep going are those that are very well established due to hacking/business/path longevity.

Right?

River is none of those things, and she's bought a couple of keys but can't afford to keep going for much longer if she loses again. xD

The loot is worth it later on, so maybe make the loot a little better on the first couple of baby floors.

does Palterer work on those keys? I might give it a go after tomorrow when I get the house to myself for a few hours of peace and quiet. It sounds like something I'd rather not have to struggle to focus on, lol. :))

I think blood fountains are a good idea. I also think maybe it could use some more EXP, and maybe better weapons at lower levels too.
