FLYNN Flynn deadpanned at Dhara as she asked if that was what he wanted, because clearly that much wasn’t obvious enough. A kiss here and there clearly meant that he was only looking for a good time. It was then that she sighed and settled her head on his shoulder. There were no words coming to mind to assure her that everything would be okay, because he wasn’t sure that it would be. So, while she mulled things over, he simply continued to hold her close and traced abstract shapes on her back.
The lifting of her head had him wincing, only because he half expected the worst to come out of her mouth, if only because the worst ‘what if’ scenarios were running through his head. “You...don’t...care…” he repeated, slowly, unsure whether that was a good thing or not. Shouldn’t she care, due to the risk it put them both in? Regardless, she had a solid point. He would do his damn best to keep her out of harm’s way. And while he appreciated her offering the same, he smirked at her, “I’m not sure how you manage keeping me safe when you don’t even know how to protect yourself, but I appreciate the sentiment,” he replied with a soft sigh, staring into her eyes for a quiet moment before he finally nodded.
If he was going to hell, he might as well do it to the best of his ability.
Dhara “Well… I can certainly try at least.” She said with a smile. When he nodded, she grinned like an idiot and hugged him as tightly as she dared without jostling his wounds. “I do not know how this happened.” She admitted, still smiling at him. “We have gone from ‘maybe I will run into you again.’ to making plans to see each other on purpose, to being in a relationship…” She sounded mystified over the whole process. “But I cannot say I am unhappy with the results.”
She eased herself into his lap and lightly kissed his cheek, then the corner of his mouth. She wondered what it would be like to really kiss him, not the small, chaste kisses they had exchanged thus far. Giving into her curiosity, she let her lips find his. There was a little more pressure in her kiss this time, just enough to discover his mouth seemed to be a perfect fit against her own.
FLYNN Her excitement at his nod wasn’t an unwelcome thing, but the hug still made him wince. Doing his best to hide the momentary pain, he smiled at her as soon as she pulled away. She was so happy, and he didn’t want to ruin the moment for her. “It’s the rakish playboy persona, Dhara. It draws women in like a moth to the flame…” he sighed, nodding as if it was a true shame to be as charming as he was. Of course, now that playboy attitude would have to be kept in check. Not that he minded keeping it under wraps when he had Dhara to focus his attention on.
As she made herself comfortable on his lap, he hummed with a smile just for her. That smile was soon covered by her lips, more insistent and firm than the few before. A groan escaped him, muffled by their lips pressed together. His arms pulled her in, ignoring the protest of his injuries. They could be worried about later, for now, he was more than happy to soak up the taste of her lips.
Dhara She couldn’t say how long they sat there kissing, at some point he or she deepened the kiss. His fingers were in her hair and she was bent slightly back over his arm. For as heated as their kissing had become, they were still well behaved. His hands didn’t wander, nor did hers. By the time one of them broke the kiss, and she couldn’t say who it was, she was breathless and dazed. She blinked at him and gave a dopey little smile. “I like kissing you.” She murmured softly.
She wasn’t sure what made her do it, but her eyes found the clock on his cable box and she frowned slightly at the time. “You should get to bed.” She said reluctantly. She would have been quite content to sit on the floor kissing all night, but he did have a day job. “I would not want you to be falling asleep at work.” She stroked her fingers through his hair and grinned at him. “And I think you are right about the rakish playboy thing.” She chuckled softly and gave him the briefest of kisses. She didn’t bother asking if she would be the only woman he would be with in this relationship. He might be a playboy, but he wasn’t a player, something he’d made quite clear the second time they’d hung out together.

Re: Yes, Dear [Dhara]
FLYNN When she pulled away from their heated kiss, he practically whined. The loss of her body close to his felt a bit like a loss of a limb, but he didn’t fight it. His hold on her waist loosened, but only fractionally. “You are welcome to do so any time you like,” he replied with a slow wink. There was something about her cheesy smile, the way she looked at him with only pure happiness in her eyes. “You are beautiful,” he told her, leaning back just enough to get a better look at her from a further distance.
Mentioning bed, he glanced at the clock and saw that she was right. The next day was quickly approaching, and despite his injuries, he would still be expected at work. He was not the type to skimp out on his responsibilities. With a grumble, he rest his forehead against her shoulder, “I don’t want to sleep…” Quiet for a minute, he began to snicker, “I can see this being quite a drawback. You get to stay up till dawn, and I have to be forced to bed. Lame…” There was no point in arguing the point, though, because he knew that he needed the rest, if not for work tomorrow, than for his injuries that needed to heal.
In a surprising show of balance, he managed to drag them both into a standing position without letting her drift too far. “I don’t want to leave you out here.” That was probably more to do with his desire to have her nearby, now that she was officially his. But, on the other hand, having her beside him would likely result in little sleep. “Do you plan to stay until I head off to work, or should I expect you gone by the time I wake up?”
Dhara “That is a problem.” She said with a soft chuckle, her arms around his waist, head tipped back to look up at him. “I do not want to stay out here either. But if I come to bed, you must promise to sleep. Because you have work, unless you are calling in sick to spend the day lounging in bed with me.” She teased. It was funny how she’d gone from being able to sit on opposite sides of the same couch with him, to not wanting to leave his embrace.
His next question made her nose crinkle. She really hadn’t thought it out when she said she was coming here. She could leave now, before dawn, or be trapped in his apartment all day keeping Athena company. “Well…” She drawled out. “I cannot leave when the sun is up…” She pointed out slowly. “And I do not wish to leave right now… unless you come with me to my place.” She sighed, softly and looked up at him. “I would have to stay inside until the sun went down. Apologies that I did not think things through. How would you like to handle this?” She looked crestfallen at the idea of having to leave him. Afterall, she’d come to his apartment to keep an eye on him, and even that would have presented the same complication.
FLYNN As she explained their choices for the rest of the night, he frowned and tilted his head from side to side, considering what might be the best course of action. He didn’t want to leave Dhara to her own devices in his apartment all day long, especially when her work was at her apartment. Athena would be here, sure, but that still didn’t seem like a good enough reason to expect her to stay. Sighing, eventually, he released her from his embrace. “I wouldn’t feel right expecting you to stay here all day long. That’s hardly fair. So, as much as I would love to have you stay...maybe you should go home for the night. You can get your work done, and I can get some rest….without distraction.” he finished with smirk, a finger hooking under her chin.
For the briefest of moments, he considered taking it all back and asking her to stay. But, another moment later and he shook his head. Taking her hand in his, he laced their fingers together and placed a kiss to her forehead. “I promise to call you tomorrow after work, though?” he asked, wanting her to be okay with the decision. It wasn’t like he was sending her off and disappearing on her, like so many others, apparently.
Dhara She sighed quietly, knowing it was the right choice and not liking it as much as he didn’t like it. “If I had been thinking, I would have brought my work with me.” She murmured, it was her way of agreeing with him. Her eyes closed at the soft kiss and she smiled. “Just a phone call?” She teased, knowing it would probably be a phone call to make plans.
She released his hand reluctantly and retrieved her bag, changing back into her clothes and returning back to him, her bag slung over her shoulder. “We should figure this out.” She said, moving over to say goodbye to the sleeping Athena. She moved back to him and took his hand, walking with him to the elevator. “I should very much like to spend the night with you at some point.” She smiled up at him, then stepped into the elevator, giving a small wave as the doors closed. She couldn’t shake her smile as she went to her car. And even when she got home and saw the mound of paperwork, she was still smiling over the night's events. Before she got into the thick of it, she did take up her phone and send a quick text to Flynn. Home safe. Sweet dreams.
