A Night at the Voodoo

Doc
returned to his old haunt. It had been weeks since his last visit. He used to be a fixture here. He found he missed teh camaraderie he found here.

Doc
entered the Voodoo, his old haunt. But he had not been in weeks. He chose this night to visit.

Kaelyn
wrinkled her brow up a bit as she saw Doc on her way into the bar. She stopped by here every so often just to see if people were around like they used to be. Maybe he had the same idea? "Doc..."

Grumpykitty
and so she enters the place and as doc she has not been around in a coons age, and she isn't all that too happy right now either.

Ariadne
watched her phone as she entered the Voodoo. Her event at the winery had wrapped up early and she had decided to engage with others... specifically Doc. Once she activated the tracking software, it had been a small matter of actually transporting herself to where he was. All tech and no magic. She had become terribly pedestrian...

Mortll
sat at the bar a pair of black framed glasses perched on top of her head and a pencil stuck behind one ear gazing at a invetory list and shaking her head someone was going to get their fingers broken or worse

Kaelyn
didn't come to this place anywhere near as often as she used to, but whenever she passed, she'd make a quick stop in just to see if people were hanging out like they used to. It was rare she'd find that...but tonight seemed to be one of those rare nights. First stop...the bar. She ordered herself a drink and then would sit back and watch for a little while.

Doc
wandered over to the bar, in his usual manner. "Evening Mortll.. you are looking well." He eyed the glasses. Why would she need glasses? Is it just for looks? He noted Chubs presence and flicked at peanut at her, all the while pretending he didn't realize she was there.

Grumpykitty
she made her way up to the bar and right next to doc giving him a good swat on the butt for old time sake. " Hi stranger," She smiled at him and glanced over at her ma. "Bloody marry if you have any please. " Said quietly.

Kaelyn
took a sip of her whiskey while staring at Doc. "You're losing your nuts, Doc."

Ariadne
turned off her phone and stood in the doorway, eyeing Kaelyn. "That sounds most unfortunate."

Mortll
looked up as people entered her frown turned into a smile " Doc ... Kitteh " She stowed the invetory sheet under the bar and divested herself of the unneeded glasses and pencil the finger breaking would have to wait " Its so good to see you guys it Seemed tonight was the night for a gathering as Mortll saw The others enter and bussied herself with getting drinks. "Well its a habbit from the masquerade that i still tend to do ... Why would a vampire need glasses now its more to **** with their heads than anything else i guess my way of disguising power if you know what i mean " she shrugged and sat Kaylens drink down in front of her .

Doc
eyed Kaelyn, then Kitty. "Hands to yourself, if you please." His voice held a note of censure. "I am not a piece of meat for you amusement." hearing Ari's voice, Doc turned to see her, "Doll face! You are looking ravishing as always.. " He crossed over to offer her his arm, "Where would you like to sit, hmm?"

Grumpykitty
she frowns at doc and sighed. "Gee why so up tight? "She grunts and then goes to a table and sits down and places her feet on top of the table and leans back.

Mortll
eyed Kitteh and fixed her a real bloody mary " Thats not tommato juice darlin "

Kaelyn
had been ignored. She shrugged and continued with her drink and people watching.

Grumpykitty
and not before grabbing the glass from her ma. "Thanks. I kinda figured it wasn't. " She shrugs.

Ariadne
took Doc's arm and made her way further into the room. "It is good to see you, and wherever is fine. I am adaptable."

Doc
directed her to a table where they would be out of the way of normal foot traffic, but one with a good view of the other patrons and tables. "Does here suit you?"

Amalea
slid in quietly, as was usual for her, particularly as of late. She stepped aside from the door as she scanned the room. With a slight wave, she made her way over to Mortll, "Evening, bit of a crowd tonight."

Ariadne
nodded and took a seat. "It has been a while. Are you well?"

Doc
Doc helped her with her seat, before seating himself, "Yes. Though I must say it is harder stepping away from the day to day business duties than I thought. And you? Are you well and.. content?"

Ariadne
I have been alone much of the time. I am finding that is it... less than ideal. I visited Psyche for a bit when he came back, but he seems to have faded again...

Mortll
smiled at Lea hey hun " What do you want to drink ? It is a bit but i like it . What are you up to tonight hun we need to do some plotting later "

Doc
Doc looked at her. "Psyche returned?" He had not been aware of it. He knew that Ariadne had a soft spot for him. If Psyche ever stayed any length of time, He had a suspicion he would lose Ari to him. "What has he been up to?" trying to make interested conversation without sounding too inquisitive.

Amalea
Amalea smiled, "Whatever wine you have on hand is fine, I'm not picky." She glanced around, "As do it, it's been a while. I'm free all night so I'm certainly up for some plotting."

Grumpykitty
she gets up from her chair taking her drink with her and not before flipping a peanut in doc's direction she makes her way over to the game she sees over in the corner and starts to play after she places a quarter into it.

Ariadne
shrugged. "I don't know. He's very hard to understand unless we're using MindSpeak. We exchanged pleasantries and he noted that he has missed me, but the last time I visited he was nowhere to be found. He's never around for long." She nudged his foot gently with hers. "I have missed you though. I feel like I haven't seen you in months."

Mortll
smiles" thats good one wine comeing up " Mortll glared at Kitteh as she flipped a nut at Doc and rolled her eyes. She walked back over to the bar "Hey Kaylen how are you tonight ?"

Kaelyn
blinked a few times and glanced up to Mortll. "Hmm? I'm doing alright. How are you?"

Doc
Doc gave her a smile. "I have been turning over the businesses to my manager. I have decided with the fall of the masquerade that.. Vampirekind needs a voice and protection under human law. I have been spending time trying to gain support. I had hoped that Wendell would be the face. However, he was loath the accept the task."

Ariadne
frowned. She not heard from her childe in a very long time, but his reaction did not surprise her based on what she knew of him. "He does not... his form is not one that would be easily accepted by the humans. Nor is his demeanor. My concern is that they would be unwilling to take his word for anything that was said because he is so... intimidating? Yes. Intimidating."

Mortll
smiled at the girl "Im good staying busy... What have you been up to its been awhile since we caught up ?" then something struck Mortll "You still hanging out with that dude that left bugs all in my pool ?"

Amalea
"Thanks," she smiled as she leaned against the bar people watching.

Kaelyn
furrowed her brow even more "A dude that left bugs in your pool? The only -dude- I hang with is Stagger...and I highly doubt he'd leave bugs in your pool."

Doc
Doc gave Ari an amused smile, "Wendell.. Intimidating? Our Wendell?" He leaned back in his seat, "Granted he can be austere and somewhat cold, but I find him to be one of the most level headed in this city. He is not prone to exaggerations, or stating facts that cannot be proven. For that alone, he would make an excellent spokes person. Yes, he could smile more, however, he has his own charisma.."

Kaelyn
"Oh! You mean Kane!. I haven't seen him in like a year. But my camera still picks him up at my apartment. I guess he still lives there."

Grumpykitty
still at the game machine she's playing that, hearing lea's voice she turns and waves at her. "Evening lady. " She gave her a polite smile and turns back to her game and not before taking a sip of that real bloody mary her ma made for her.

Amalea
"Evening, Kitty," she waved at the woman.

Ariadne
chuckled. "I think you have managed to retain more humanity than he has. I have seen his slip away and, while it suits him, I worry that it would not suit your purpose. You on the other hand..." She eyed him up and down quickly before nodding. "You seem non-threatening enough at first glance."

Mortll
"He was quite unusual reminded me of the place i was turned " Mortll smiled "So you and Staggar ever getting bonded ?"

Kaelyn
took a sip of her whiskey "I don't know about bonded, but married eventually, yes."

Doc
Doc gave her an endearing look, as he took her hand and brought it to his lips giving it a chaste kiss. "You are too kind my dear. I could never be the face. I am Tytonidae. That alone, would cause our kind to reject me. No we need a face that can unite our kind.. not divide."

Mortll
"Dont wait a eternity he dosnt have one " Mortll looked stedily at the young woman

Kaelyn
sat up a bit. "I don't see any reason in rushing it. It'll happen when we are ready for it to happen."

Mortll
" I didnt say rush but he is human and from the looks of it intends on staying that way so you will loose him to time unless that changes is all that im saying "

Kaelyn
"I"m well aware how it all works."

Mortll
raised a eyebrow "Yep you do " turned and walked over to Lea " You want another wine darlin "

Doc
Doc glanced at Chub, he had overheard the last bit. He silently applauded her on her response. Well done.

Amalea
Lea shook her head lightly, "Thanks, but one's my limit most nights."

Kaelyn
didn't like being pushed or anything towards how she should handle her life with Stagger. She knew his age. She knew how humans worked. She knew how vampires worked. The two of them would handle things exactly how they wanted to, without the influence of anyone else. The young blonde went back to her drink.

Kaelyn
nodded to Doc

Ah yes, the Ty stigma... I think it's still attached to me, even after all these years.

Mortll
had tried to talk to the girl who apparently had a stick up her *** Not like Mortll knew what to talk to her about unless she snooped around in her head and **** that ****. Kaylen was past being a teenager Mortll was past being nice Kaylen could **** the entire navy fleet and Mortll wouldnt care. She had tried to make the girl feel welcome and got a big **** you so That was that. "Well i cant get you drunk Miss Lea and talk you into bad decisons humm? That could be fun " Mortll winked at her

Doc
Doc looked at her, and held up a hand, "First I do not consider it a stigma. I believe in Tytonidae. But I am not blind to how others view us. Second, Do you truly see it as a 'stigma'?"

Grumpykitty
she smacked the machine slightly and grunts at it. " Stupid fuckin cheating *** machine... " She turns and heads to a corner table and sat down and with drink in hand, which she barely touched.

Ariadne
I do, simply because others see those who were or are in Ty a certain way and, no matter what we believe or how we act, that reputation of simply being in Ty is enough for others to dislike us.

Amalea
She laughed lightly, "Water, diet cola, not really fussy on that." She hadn't been really surprised by Kaelyn's abrupt manner regarding her mysterious boyfriend as she'd made the mistake of trying to talk to the woman once about him. She wouldn't make that mistake twice, "It could be," she acknowledged, "just not on a regular basis."

Doc
And what others think.. means that much to you?

Kaelyn
wasn't being rude. But it was a topic she wasn't up to discussing. Her relationship with Stagger had never been a open conversation with anyone. Ever. If Mortll wanted to be butt hurt over that, then that was her issue. She didn't feel unwelcome. Kae got up from her seat and made her way over to Doc and Ari. She had sat away for long enough. "Mind if I sit? Am I interrupting anything?"

Mortll
caught part of what Ari said " Well you kill people they tend to hold it against you Most dont just shoot you back and forgive " she shrugged her shoulders

Doc
Doc looked at Chub, and gave her a strained smile. What Ari had admitted shook him. "No.. of course not.. Have a seat." He pulled a chair out for her, setting it next to him.

Kaelyn
eyed his smile a moment before taking the seat "Thank you."

Ariadne
Oh I don't care, but that's how social stigma works. It's how society sees a person.

Doc
Doc draped an arm about Chub, before turning his attention back to Ari. "You see it as a stigma. Which means you -do-care.. what the unwashed public thinks." He was gutted.

Ariadne
sighed. Every damn time with her social interactions. Every time. "No, I am explaining a phenomenon based on an accepted social definition that accurately depicts how our people see members of an organization. It is not my definition."

Grumpykitty
she finished up her drink and stood from her chair and heads back over to the bar and lays it on there just so and sighed. " I"m off to rest I think. Or something. I'll see you later. " She said to Mortll and then glanced at the rest of the company and gave a shrug and heads out.

leaned against her Papi some.

Mortll
"Night Kitteh and ill see you tommrow night " Mortll winked at her childe

Doc
Doc started replaying in his mind past scenes that he had aligned a different way, way putting a new slant on things. "Then why is it a stigma to you.. ? If it is not your definition.. then it would not be a stigma." He paused, trying to remain open minded, though truth be told, he was struggling. He played with Chub's curls absently as he tried to get his thoughts in order, "Are you ashamed of your time with Tytonidae?"

Ariadne
closed her eyed and rubber her temples. "How else would you define or explain the way others treat members of Ty? The rudeness, the utter disregard of opinions reguardless of how well stated or logical..."

Mortll
was silently thinking to herself emotional rage at getting slaughtered then smiled

Doc
"How would I define it? Ignorance. Plain and simple." He paused playing with Chub's curls, "The bulk of vampirekind are young and inexperienced. And if I were to let their judgement color my actions? I would be a ******* sycophant like they are."

Ariadne
just folded her hands in her lap and sat.

Noelle
headed into her sister's place, looking around at those who were here. The asshole. The pretty lady. Her sister of course. She smiled and headed over to Mortll, pressing a kiss to her cheek "How are you, hon?"

Mordechai
Mordechai slipped in from the cool night, lifting his stetson and running one hand through the long unruly locks of ebony that waved down over his shoulders, letting his eyes rove over the assempled crowd

Mortll
smilled "Elle im great how about you my dear its a good night "

Doc
Doc's jaw clenched at her silence. Was her silence due to he being right? Or her chosing to ignore him completely because she found him wrong? He stood. "If you will excuse me.. " He headed to the bar.

Doc
Once at the bar, he waited for Mortll to acknowledge him.

Noelle
smiled even wider. Her giant was here! "I'm doing wonderful!" Dark brows waggled at the asshole who made his way to the bar and then she made her way over to the giant and leapt up to wrap arms around his neck and hug tight. Family made Elle a happy lady.

Ariadne
sighed. Clearly her use of a social definition had not been well received even though she had tried to explain it, and his response had been pretty clear as to how he saw her for using it.

Mortll
smiled "What can i get you Doc Whiskey ?"

Kaelyn
chewed on her bottom lip a moment. "Would you like a drink, Ari?"

Doc
Doc could not contain the look of sheer revulsion at the black browed spawn. He then looked at Mortll. "**** me.. yes. To the Brim.. please."

Amalea
She laughed softly as Noelle jumped Mord; she'd say hi later when he didn't have his hands full figuring it was a bit safer.

Mortll
grabbed a double and poured it full of the amber liquid " Here you go hun Hello there Mordechai how are you this night ?"

Doc
Doc tossed back the drink and slid the empty back to Mortll; only then realizing Mordi was there. "Mordi! Let me buy you a ******* drink!"

Doc
"or two.. "

Ariadne
eyed Kae. "No, thank you. I appear to have ruined the evening yet again."

Noelle
was still clinging to her giant. She smiled back at Doc again.

Mordechai
A smile curved the libs of the brobdingnabian as he easily caught his 'mum' and gave her a twirl, stopping to face his friend, "Tonight, things go well. Finally turning to the blond curled around his torso he smiled, "good eve, mum"

Amalea
"Evening," she smiled at the newcomers.

Kaelyn
shook her head "I don't think you've ruined it. Just differing opinions maybe?"

Mortll
spotted a dark figure then smiled it was Llagort her quiet child He didnt come around often but when he did he made a statement She smiled in his direction "Llagort come on in have you met Doc i know you have met Mordechai and Amalea what can i get you to drink ?"

Mordechai
A nod of recognition to the shadow at the bar, as he carried the lithe blonde closer, waiting for her to indicate she wanted down. "I believe they serve my preferred here"

Noelle
pecked his cheek and let go, dropping down to the floor "Evening, darlin. You're older than me ya know."

Mordechai
?me smiled, "age is but a number, every female knows that..."

Doc
Doc was waiting for Mortll to refill.. TO THE BRIM.. his whiskey, when the Spawn smiled at him. He shuddered. Then reined himself in as Mortll introduced him to Llangort, her childe. This one he had not met before. "Well Met Llangort. Come have a drink with us.. lord knows I need it.."

Noelle
Happen to know where Quin is?

closed his eyes, his lips twitched once then he opend them looking into noelles, "Here"

Mortll
eyed Doc and just handed over the bottle without saying a word after filling his glass once more some things you just knew without having to read someones mind "Doc dont know if you can get him to talk tonight he tends to be a silent one "

Mordechai

shook her head at Kae. "No, I think I have done it this time. I think we are...." She trailed off, not quite sure how to finish that sentence.

Doc
Doc should return to his table and Ariadne..it would be the gentlemanly thing to do.. but he needed to work through some things. Then Mortll slid him the bottle and his glass and spoke. Doc nodded, "I need another glass then B.. Mortll..if you please."

Amalea
"Nice to see you again," she smiled at Llangort and Doc. Of course, she knew both, though one not as well as the other.

Kaelyn
nods her head some. "Things will work out how they are supposed to in the end. Everyone has disagreements."

Doc
Doc gave Lea a knowing wink, "Do introduce me Lea.. Let the dear fellow know I am not a threat.. "

Noelle
stared at her giant "Did you just summon her without permission? She's completely out of it." She chuckled a little and went over to Quin, dragging her body to a booth to lay her down and leave her in peace.

Mortll
fished another glass off the rack and slid it to Doc her brow furrowed. She sighed and took to washing a imaginary spill up off the bar

Mordechai
turned towards the titian haired woman that was often in Doc's company, moving closer towards her table. Although she was not a friend, nor even a true acquaintance, they had been introduced, and she seemed more... intelligent.... than many he had met. Resting a hand on an empty chair an eyebrow quirked as he queried, "May I?"

Amalea
She laughed softly, "Of course. May I introduce you to Llangort, one of the Dragons."

Noelle
made her way back over towards people and hops up on the bar. Elle was in a happy mood tonight. "Llangort kicked my butt...."

Mortll
[[Llangort left the chat ages ago he is ghosting not here ]]

Mordechai
"You did well Noelle. I need more practice it seems.

Noelle
Pfft it was a lucky shot with you

Amalea
"Or she got lucky," she smiled, "Happens once in a while."

Doc
Doc gave Mortll a thankful smile as she filled his drink and left the bottle. He turned his attention to Lea and Llangort.. who then .. left without at a word. Doc looked at Lea, "Something I said?"

Noelle
Maybe I'm talented, Amalea >.>

Amalea
She snorted at Noelle, "He's damn good." She shook her head at Doc, "No, he's a man of few words and doesn't seem to hang around long."

Noelle
He really is.

Doc
Doc nodded and took a long pull from his drink. He needed to put things in order. Think things through. He knew one thing, he would not be the face of vampirekind. He was too well experienced in ******* things up.

Kaelyn
looked at the giant man at the table wide eyed. He was huge.

Mordechai
blinked a couple of times, and it seemed as though a red haze lifted fron his eyes. The moman that sat before him was no longer a ginger, but instead she had wavy brown hair raching the midpoint of her back, some of the blood from the last summoner must have coated his cornea. "Hello Ariadne"

Mordechai

Amalea
"Rough night?" she questioned softly.

Ariadne
glanced up upon hearing her name. She and Mordechai frequently ran into each other while hunting in the castle, but they rarely spoke. Still, she knew him, and his size made him unmistakable. "Hello, Mordechai. If you were asking me about a seat before, you may."

Doc
Doc looked at Lea, "It did not start out that way.. " He sighed, "It started out rather well honestly.. But.. " he chose not to go on.

Amalea
Lea nodded, "Things rarely start out rough."

Doc
Doc looked at Lea pointedly, "True. But there are times, and I am sure you have been privy to such, where things are said in such a manner that you discover you have been in error at their true meaning.. until that moment.."

Doc
Doc downed the rest of his drink, and poured himself another.

Mordechai
Taking her silence as acquiesence the massive killer lowered himself into the seat.

Mordechai
shook his head lightly, "Forgive me Ariadne, the night has been long already. I meant no disrespect in the tardiness of my reply"

Ariadne
I am not worried. I often find myself somewhat inattentive during social situations.

Amalea
"Indeed," she agreed, "it is not an easy time."

Kaelyn
took a sip of the whiskey and then decided to question the giant. "Were you this big before you were turned?"

Doc
Doc paused, setting his glass down, "Oh?" He frowned ever so slightly, "You have had problems?"

Amalea
"In this city?

Amalea
" She shook her head, "It seems to be the name of the game."

Doc
Doc wanted to give her a rueful smirk, but something held him back. "It .. seems?" He paused then finally asked, "Things are well for you? If you are having a issue.. " He glanced around and lowered his voice for her alone, "Point me in the right direction, and it will go .. away"

Mordechai
nodded

Noelle
sat back, watching everyone.

Mordechai
"gatherings seem to get... tense.... amongst our kind. PAssions run high"

Ariadne
lowered her eyes and grumbled to herself.

Kaelyn
kicked her feet back and forth some. "I'm starting to think it's not just me."

Mordechai
Turning towards the one that had been introduced as a spawn of Doc, "No, it is a result of an attack upon my person"

Amalea
"Has for years...human mixing with vampires tends to attract unwanted attention," she reminded him lightly. "Though aside from last week's bank robbery, nothing really as of late."

Kaelyn
blinked "So when someone attacks you, you grow? Like...if I shot you right now,t his instant...you'll grow even bigger!?"

Ariadne
That sounds like a terrible idea.

Mordechai
"No, but after that attack.... I grow larger when I attack, for instance, if i were to shoot you. As of now, I have no reason yet, so mostlikely I will end this night of a similar size to when it began."

Mordechai
A true smile graced his lips as he bowed his head to Ari, "I must agree madam, it does not sound good to me either"

Doc
Doc nodded, "I heard of the robbery attempt, but I was unaware you were involved." He looked at her "I never took you for the criminal type. Next time.. do not chose a location in this city. Toronto is better." He eyed her openly, "You look none the worse for wear."

Kaelyn
stares at this man a bit in awe "So one day you'll be like...as big as..." She was trying to think of something really big. " umm...like a brontosaurus!!" She wasn't going to shoot him. It was just a question.

Amalea
Lea stared at Doc for a moment before giggling, "Even I have more brains to hold up a bank at gun point when there are far better and more discreet methods." She shook her head amused, "No, I had the unfortunate misadventure to be in the bank when they showed up. Idiot cops were convinced I had some sort of hand in it too... it was a long, long night."

Mordechai
A low chuckle rumbled from deep within his chest, "Nay, that I doubt. It seems to be slowing, in the last six months, I have barely grown two inches...

Kaelyn
Have you been shooting?

came back out of the basement her brow furrowed "Mordie you get much bigger you will just have to buy tents for shirts and pray they fit.

Doc
Doc gave her a look, his voice still low, "Done properly, it can be quite lucrative.." He allowed his voice to fade off, before making his voice normal. "I had no idea! I am pleased you were unhurt! It would have ruined our date!'

Mordechai
"I have been trying to eradicate a nest of demon spawn, so yes, yes I have been fighting"

Kaelyn
Demon spawn?

Amalea
Lea gave him a mischievous smile, her voice low as she replied, "Indeed, though certainly not wise to engage in a nearby city." She laughed lightly, "I have no idea how I managed that, given everyone else had some sort of wound. I pity the hospital. I'm looking forward to the weekend and injured or not, I will be there!" She paused for a moment, "I did learn something interesting in the bank, our favorite reporter got herself knocked up by another paladin."

Ariadne
fingers dug into her thighs as she overheard Doc and Lea. Of course he had dates. That combined with their disagreement tonight, well... Ari stood, nodding quickly to the others at her table. "Thank you for your company. I am afraid that I left the winery too soon, so I must return and finish preparations for tomorrow."

Kaelyn
Bye Ari...it was good seeing you. Can I come by sometime?

Doc
Doc grinned, "You mean Mona.. ? Yes I ran across her in the city a week or so ago.. heard the distinct sound of multiple heartbeats. And her waist had gone to ******* hell. Someone knocked her up!" He grinned, and unapologetically said, "I offered to help her find a good home for her litter.. " He smirked, "After all .. someone in her line of work.. wont last long."

Ariadne
Perhaps, Kae. Perhaps.

Kaelyn
nodded some

Mordechai
noticed the timing of Ariadne's ubrubt standing and excuse, and slowly shook his head his eyes on the bar. Safe hunting, mz Ari, be careful in the castle, there are many thieves."

Ariadne
smiled a little. "Yes, so I shall be keeping a closer eye on my pockets."

Amalea
Lea nodded, "The one and only. She can fight, I'll give her that. Given both of them seem to be of the same occupation, I feel for any kids they have, if they even last long enough to have more. Hopefully, they don't decide to start a cult with them."

Mortll
found a seat at the table recently vacated by Ari and leaned against Doc with a sigh just listening to the conversation .

Doc
Doc looked at Lea, "Do you really think we would allow that? A cult against us? I would say naught. However.. there is more than one way to do things, .. yes?"

Noelle
hopped off the bar and made her way over to her sister, plopping down next to her.

Amalea
