Archiving question

Last week I was asked if the forum runs slow for me. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I was wondering if that was a site issue (as in whoever hosts the site for the game), but then saw that we have threads from 2013 still around. Is it possible that there may be too many on this site and not the archive site/area and that's why the site has been running slower and slower lately?

I haven't had go slow problems with either the forums or the game (other than during territory battles where lots of things are happening). I would have thought that if number of threads were a problem it would be consistently slow. That and I expect the forum to load the minimum needed to create the current viewed page, so number of threads shouldn't be a general issue. Searching, for sure, general forum browsing, not expected. That said, I am not exactly a "forum running" expert.

That sounds accurate, I believe. Though yes, it never hurts to archive things a bit more than we have been.

Yeah, idk anything about forum stuff really. I know a couple of times people have talked about getting to pm's on the forum seem to take a long time loading. I also do notice on that from time to time. Any idea what that might have to do with? Is it too much stuff on the site, or something completely different?

It could just be the server itself lagging. When this happens, check the game out and if the game isn't lagging at all then it could be a database issue, yes.
