Parasites and Guns go hand in hand [invite]
It all happened so fast that Gideon had never seen it coming, until he felt the impact of bullets hitting him square in the chest. Earlier in the night, a woman—correction, a blood sucking parasite had come seeking revenge against him for a shot he had taken at her in the castle. They were both equally terrible shots, both shooting the other in the leg.
Gideon had been sitting with some fellow paladins (read: Defunct, wanna be paladins who were too scared to do anything other than talk ****), regaling in his antics with them while they drank a few beers, when a vampire he had taken a couple of shots at, earlier that night came in from the cover of shadows and started firing at Gideon. Chances were, she not only shot him, but damn near everyone around him, given they were so close in proximity to the other. The first of her shots struck Gideon in his chest, sending him reeling from the seat he was in and to the floor. As he reached for his own gun, the vermin let out a few more shots, a stray bullet hitting Gideon in his cheek.
Gideon attempted to keep the blood that was coming from his chest and face, from flowing out, but she struck him again in the chest and Gideon was down again. Hands reached out to the gun that flew from his fingertips and landed on the ground, but she was quicker. This one—this one, he needed a few friends to help with this one. She was strong, but with a few friends, they might stand a chance. That was the last thought that struck Gideon, before the sound of more bullets were heard and it was lights out.

Re: Parasites and Guns go hand in hand [invite]
It had been two weeks since she had met Gio at the Handle bar. Two Weeks of wondering if she should go look him up. With her head hung over the toilet the blatant realization that they might have fucked up royally struck her. She washed her face with cold water in the sink and looked into the mirror her face pale with the realization that she might be pregnant. This wasn't any hangover or the flu and she was late. Something that she had never been. She kept telling herself that it may just be a stomach bug that it wasn't possible. Something deep within her knew differently.
She shrugged on her jacket and gave her bike a glance as she walked out of the Garage on her way to the corner drug store. She looked at the wall of pregnancy tests. This one did this or that Mona grabbed 3 different ones that all said they gave earliest possible results. The old biddy down the aisle was looking at her with a air of disapproval. Mona flashed her middle finger at her and walked toward the check out counter.
The walk home seemed to take forever. She tore the first package open that promised the fastest results. Then went to the bathroom. The ******* balancing act of pissing on a stick was embarrassing. Mona laid it on the back of the toilet and washed her hands. The 3 minutes it said to wait seemed like a eternity. Mona snatched the stick up and looked at the little window. The + sign glared back at her. It wasn't faint or part of it missing it was bold as **** glaring back at her telling her she was fucked.
She spent the next few hours drinking water and taking the rest of the tests ... each one with the same results telling her in a different way showing up lines ... showing different colors. She sat back in defeat as it sunk in. She was going to be a mother. No way was she getting rid of it ... No way was she going to ******* abandon her child like her pops had done to her. Not that it had been his fault. He hadn't even known he had a daughter but try telling that to a kid. Ohh **** ... the kid wasn't going to have a father ... Jesus ******* Christ what had she done ... She didn't even know this guy now she was having his kid . It wasn't necessary that she even have him around but she owed it to the kid to find out something about who its father is.
First thing first Mona needed solid proof to this guy that she was knocked up ... She made the Dr.s appointment for the following day . Then she looked up the Hotel where he said he was staying. This was going to be met with a lot of disbelief even questioning her sexual activity would be in doubt ... Like she fucked every guy she laid eyes on . The first guy she had fucked in 3 years ended up in this mess. She at least owed it to him and the kid to let them know each other existed even if it was met with Disbelief.

If there ever was an out of body experience, Gideon felt as if he was having one right now. He could hear everything that was being said, but couldn't reply in any sense. he couldn't speak, grunt, or even raise fingers or legs when people were asking him to try and do these things, while being transported to the hospital. he heard that much, but everything sounded so far away. Some numbers were thrown out; maybe his pulse? Blood pressure? Gideon stared having trouble focusing on what people were saying, and why they were saying things, while he felt the occasional jarring of his body from below as the ambulance raced away from the scene and to the only place with the only people that could help him make it through the night.
Silky strands of red buried his face, nose and eyes while he slept. With a roll to his side, his bare flesh hit against something equally as soft beside him, his ankle draping over the softer, smaller ankle besides his. His hands curled under the pillow his head claimed, and wrapped around the top of it. The woman beside him was nothing special; just some woman he met during his time here with his church group. Every few days she called, or stopped by his hotel room and usually ended up like this. Occasionally, the woman would stay until early morning, then sneak off before the world woke up around them; just like tonight.
A hand rubbed at the hair that remained on his face, even though he had shifted sleeping positions. Another wipe and the mild irritation to the crevice his nose was gone. His body came to rest in a new sleeping position, unaware of any real threats in the city around them.
"Got a male in his early thirties with multiple gun shot wounds." The memory of a few years ago vanished as a voice that had never been there before was heard. "O2 at forty-eight. Bp dropping, but stable at the moment." And just like that, a few alerts went off around Gideon, the paramedics and the hospital staff. "He's crashing!" A nurse yelled, before continuing. "Page Dr. Olsen." The metal portable bed was rushed into a room as they began their life saving techniques on the paladin that pissed off the wrong vampire.

Re: Parasites and Guns go hand in hand [invite]
Mona sat on the edge of the exam table her *** to the wind and the crappy *** paper they used to cover it sticking uncomfortably to her legs . There was a neon band aid stuck to her arm where they had taken the blood to make sure she was pregnant and with the results roped her into having a full exam. It had seemed like hours that she had been there when in all reality it had probably been 10 minutes. There was a knock on the door and a tall olive skinned man in a button down shirt and lilting Indian accent introduced himself as Dr Bakir. A skinny pale woman followed him in with a tray holding some boxes of tools . He introduced her as Nurse Cathy and explained that she would be present during the exam and asked if that was ok . Mona had already singed all the waivers and **** she didn't care whatever it took to get this **** over with and her clothes back on .
He started to ask her questions then rubbed his hands together as if he were trying to warm them a bit before he touched her ."Ok Miss McGee Lie back on the table for me " he said in his sing song voice. Mona tried to lay back on the table without showing the world her wares She didn't know why he was fixing to get a full face of what she had down there He started to press on her stomach and had a look on his face like he was concentrating while Nurse Cathy stood over in the corner with a bored *** look on her face like she wished she could be anywhere but there. Mona pretty much was thinking the same thing as he Told her to scoot down to the end of the table and bend your knees and to place your feet in the stirrups.
"Ok Miss McGee you might feel a little Discomfort" The sing song Indian accent proclaimed as he picked up the plastic speculum off the tray and divested it of its wrappings. Mona personally thought that was the ******* understatement of the century as his head disappeared between her legs and she started to count under her breath .
Sometime later she was walked down the hall of the hospital She was still trying to regain what little bit of dignity that she felt she had left back in the exam room They had went over all the does and don'ts what she could and couldn't do . This was going to be a long ******* 9 months most of the **** she loved to do were on the don't list . She had decided to take a trip to the maternity ward to view the newborns. She was going to have to get used to the idea of having one of the little shitters. She figured actually seeing them might help sink it in. She walked down the hallway apparently she had taken a wrong turn . She was passing room numbers as she turned to go back and find the elevator she caught a glimpse of the man in the room on the right the door open. What the hell it was Gio his head was bandaged and he was pale ... there was no shirt and Mona saw that he was being monitored closely. She looked around and walked into the room. It defiantly was him. She approached his bedside "Gio ?" she said softly as her hand touched his .

Re: Parasites and Guns go hand in hand [invite]
The nice thing about being a supernatural human was that what seemed physically and medically impossible--just wasn't for people like Gideon; or rather...Marcus Barnes. Most people wouldn't recover from what he went through. Correction. No one could survive being shot in the chest multiple times, and being shot in the face twice. Yet, here he was, hanging on to whatever life he had in him. Doctors couldn't explain it. Some nurses called it a miracle. Science and religion existed side by side into the minds that were primarily scientific based.
By the time Mona had come to see him, most the wounds on his torso, legs and chest had healed; the only reminisce of them were a couple entry points on where the stitches once were after the bullets had been dug out of the guy. It had been two nights, and three days since Marcus Barnes had been admitted into the E.R. thanks to a call by an onlooker where the **** went down.
His head wounds still existed, with the exception of the bullet hole that had been in his cheek from a shot that had missed what was probably intended to go into his skull and brain. Two nights Marcus had dreamed of her; who the woman was, how they met, her story, and then his story that had been made because of the woman who was unknowingly a sorcerer with a vengeance against vampires.
It wasn't the mention of the name 'Gio' that caused the male to groan, but the fact that someone in the world that Marcus wasn't lucid in yet, was doing something to bring him out of his coma induced state. The hand jerked when Marcus felt the weight of it against his-while he wasn't able to interact vocally with the world, he knew damn well what was going on around him. The voice didn't sound familiar. The voice didn't belong to the woman in his dreams. And who was Gio?
Slowly, an eye cracked open but shut instantly when he was blinded by the bright lights in the ceilings. they probably weren't that bright, but being it had been a couple days since his eyes had experienced a light source, the light irritated his eyes. "Hrmph?" He grunted as the arm that belonged to the hand that Mona had been touching draped over his eyes, protecting them from the light.

Jesus ******* Christ what the **** had he done to get himself in this state ...Mona needed to talk to him . He was fucked up and seemed out of it. She could help him but she didn't know what using her powers might do to the child that was growing inside of her. It couldn't be nothing bad though Mona as she reached up and touched his cheek and repeated the incantation. Her hand felt warm as the heat passed into his body and started to do its work healing his wounds. She couldn't do them all at once but she would return again that is if he didn't show his *** or even remember who she was .

Re: Parasites and Guns go hand in hand [invite]
Gideon could feel the slow burning sensation on his cheek and that spurred a reaction from the paladin. The hand closest to her jolted out and grabbed the wrist as both eyes flew open. His dark eyes bore into the direction of her face as he took in her facial features and the reaction as he tightened his hold on the dark haired woman. Cracked lips parted, then he cleared his throat before a scratchy voice asked. "Where?" The hand tightened and pulled her down towards him so he could try and see her better. While Gideon might not be lacking in the mental area, his strength and need to defend himself wasn't lacking. "Am I?" He asked, eyes still locked on her, ignoring what was going on around them. Even the occasional beep that came from behind him on a monitor that observed his heart rate didn't make the paladin take his focus off the woman beside his bed.

Re: Parasites and Guns go hand in hand [invite]
Mona McGee: Mona froze as his hand held her wrist . It was a firm grip but not hurting her or anything of the sort. His intent gaze seemed to burn through her as she stammered. "You are in the hospital it looks like you had a fight and lost."
Gideon: Gideon nodded his head, then released his hold on Mona. "Lost implies I died. You can see I'm not dead." He said before he coughed and then cleared his throat. A hand went to his head, and rubbed at it, hearing a high pitch ringing in his ears as his head throbbed. "I need something. Anything." He closed his eyes and leaned back against the soft, but welcoming pillow.
Mona: Mona went over to the fake wood night stand and got the little cup. She went over to the sink and ran him some water. " Can you sit up yet or do you need me to raise the bed " She had been through this before if she had rang for the nurse it would have taken forever to get some ice and water. "Its not very cold but it will do for now. Do you want me to call the Nurse ?"
Gideon: Gideon hadn't gotten a really good look at what the woman was wearing, he had only seen her face. Which meant Gideon, or rather, Marcus, had assumed she was the nurse. When the woman asked about the nurse, his eyes shot open again, then he squinted, growling at the intensity of the light. "No." He watched her through squinted eyes. "Can't trust anyone just because they have 'nurse' on their badge, or a smiling face. Or a pretty one." He nudged his head in her direction. "Sorry, who are you?"
Mona: Ohhh ******* **** ... Great Mona thought he dosnt even ******* remember who i am . This is going to be a ******* blast .... Ohhh hi we fucked and im pregnant while you just woke up out of a ******* Coma .... Really ******* brilliant. OK Mona dont freak .... One step at a time he just woke up give him time to adjust ... "I'm Mona... Mona McGee we met a couple weeks ago I'm a Paladin as well ... I own The Sun tabloid we met at The Handlebar " She watched his face searching for any sign of a light bulb going off "
Gideon: There was a delay in talking with the woman, which had Gideon watching her that much more. When she said 'paladin,' he nodded and then pointed a finger. "Right. Mona. The name sounds familiar." He coughed again, sure he had heard that name before at some point. The name of tabloid was hazy, so Gideon didn't comment about that. Then, two and two came together. At least, he thought so. "You're friends with uh," Gideon was struggling to think of the redhead's name, but it made the most sense. "Sapphira, right? You were at the club with her that one night, right?" Gideon was trying to piece together parts of his life that were temporarily blank and make sense of. "Where is she?" The tone in his voice changed suddenly, growing harsh as Gideon struggled to sit up in the bed.
Mona: **** Mona thought to herself as she reached over and hit the arrow button on the side of the bed and the wiring started as the back of the bed started to raise lifting the man up. " Say when ... and no not quite ... You were hunting for some chick named Every and I kind of helped you out a little. Is that the reason you are here did she do this to you ?" It could have been any number of vampires that had taken a notion to get rid of him ... but her money would have been on that one .
Gideon: Every. Another name he recognized. "When." Gideon said after he cleared his throat, while the bed rose. "No. I don't think it was her. Maybe." Gideon rubbed at the side of his temple as he tried to think about what happened. Flashes and bits came to mind. he was sitting at a table, and a dark haired woman shot at him. "I think so." He said, because the only dark haired woman he remembered was Every. Well, and Mona apparently, but no Paladin would shoot another Paladin. Not when there were other things to be shooting. "I can't remember." Gideon admitted.
Mona: Mona held the pink plastic cup up for him his hands didn't seem to be shaky but she wasn't taking the chance . "Here drink ... You just woke up if i do a couple more chants on you , You will be fully healed ... it may come back to you ... Thing for now is to get you better. You might be lucky that i happened to see you. This isn't his hospital he works at the one across town but that one Vampire ******** has a penchant for doing Paladins in... i wouldn’t put it past him to either murder you and make it look like a accident or turn you into one of them hes done that **** before too. So you might not be too safe here. I can sit with you until you are better or.... " Mona couldn’t believe she was about to say this . "You can check yourself out and stay at my place until i heal you up . I know you don’t know me right now or much at all really but You trusted me enough when we first met ." she shrugged her shoulders .... "Its up to you "
Gideon: Gideon didn't have any clue who the vampire ******** was, but his gaze went to the door of his room. No way in hell was he being turned, but murder seemed to be a good possibility right now. And Gideon wasn't ready to kick the bucket yet. He needed to take care of Every and maybe even find Sapphira. She had what was coming to her too; though he doubted he'd see her again. She came into his life, and came out of it just as quick once she made him into what he was now.
Gideon nodded his head, letting Mona know that he heard what she said. That he was thinking. “Where did we meet?” He asked, eyes back on Mona. “And why? Why would you take me back to your place? I could be anyone.” He stated honestly, because he could be. Anyone could.
Mona: And there it was ... could the elephant get any bigger ... "Yeah you could be anyone in fact you were anyone when we met at the bar and came back to my place ... This wont be the first time you have been there ... Just don’t break my new table that you paid for this time " She didn't know if she was going to have to come right out and spell it out to him that they had fucked but she would if she had to. It was up to him if he believed it or not or even accepted her help. She would be fine if he did or didn't . Only reason she was here was because of the kid. She didn't want it to be like her growing up not knowing.
Gideon: More things said that Gideon couldn't remember, but sounded like part of a dream he had. Would he have gone 'home' with Mona? He looked her over again and knew he would have. Which means he probably had. Especially with the statement about the table. Then a snippet of a memory came to him, as Gideon racked his brain. “You have a garage.” He commented, scooting his back to the bed. “Think they'll let me out of here tonight?” He asked her after taking a sip of water from the pink cup he had taken from her a couple minutes ago. He coughed again, letting his throat get used to working again. “Or are we busting out of this joint?” Gideon said as both feet swung to the edge of the bed and dangled there.
Mona: Mona laughed "Well it all depends if we can find your pants Though i wouldn’t mind seeing your *** again.” She opened the doors on the night stand and bingo a bag with his personal effects but there were no clothes . They must have just cut them off of you when they brought you in . Do you want to check out and me go get you some clothes or Do you want to just leave *** to the Wind ... I wont mind walking behind you ."
Gideon: No clothes. It wasn't a deal breaker for Gideon. “Think I'll take my chances with the wind. I don't want to stay in a place that may or may not have vampires working for them. Especially, Doctor Death.” Someone Gideon would have to look into later. He placed both feet on the cold tile floor and then used both hands to push off the bed. “Woah.” Gideon said as he wobbled and then found his *** back on the stiff bed. “Why don't you see if we can get the check out started while I work on..standing.” He suggested, wondering what was in the bag that he had seen in the nightstand. “Grab the bag for me?” He asked, then added in, “Please.” Women liked that.
Mona: Mona tossed the bag on the bed "Wait here i think i have a idea. Ill be right back don’t go anywhere.” She left the room leaving him to go through his things It wasn't long she came wheeling a wheelchair into the room. "How about it you want to go for another ride with me ?"
Gideon: Gideon went through the plastic bag and found his wallet and tennis shoes. Shoes that had drops of blood on them. His blood. Gideon tossed the shoes back in the bag, grabbed his wallet and then looked back at the door. He grinned in Mona's direction when his eyes fell on the wheelchair. “Not the ride I was imaging, but...” Gideon shrugged his shoulders as he slowly moved to the parked chair. “How did you know I was in here? Or are you just getting out too?”
Mona: Mona looked at him how the hell was he nailing all the questions that was going to make her tell him something that he wouldn’t believe not in these circumstances maybe if he remembered what they had done at all ... "Well something like that I was on my way out from a appointment and took the wrong elevator believe it or not. "Lets get you out of here before someone comes in to check on you and starts asking questions ... I promise i wont wreck you " she winked at him
Gideon: Gideon was suspicious by nature. For good reasons. There were fangers everywhere and well, his run in with the redhead-it mak Gideon wonder about things. The timing of things. But, Mona seemed legit about having an appointment and wrong turns could happen. He wouldn't know his way out of the hospital. "I'm in your hands. Lead the way." he said with a slow upward motion to the door. Hopefully Mona had a car, because walking, even to a train station seemed a long and impossible task.
Mona: Mona had located the direction of the elevator when she had went for the wheel chair if she played it right she could wheel him out of there quite easily before anyone noticed that he was gone. "Ok lets ride " she started pushing him out of the door and down the hall. She took it nice and slow. Soon they were on the ground floor and Mona was wheeling him towards the Emergency room exit. Emergency room waiting rooms were always a zoo. Slipping out of there unnoticed until they were long gone would be quite easy .
Gideon: Once they were out the doors of the emergency room, Gideon turned his stiff neck towards Mona and then asked the million dollar question in his head. "How long have we known each other?" It would help serve his time line and hopefully bring back some memories. Just as they went down the ramp, a location came to his mind. "I'm at this motel in the Newborough district. Sunset Park. Maybe we can swing by there tomorrow? Will eventually need some clothes. And my guns." Gideon chuckled, but then coughed, clearing out his chest. How long had he been laying on his back for?
Mona: "We met 2 weeks ago We knew each other very well for Most of a night Well it was almost dawn when you finally found your clothes if that helps clear up anything ." Mona was moving faster now it was a good thing the Train station was only 2 doors down from The hospital and she had her way of dealing with gawkers on the train it wouldn’t take long to get him to her place. She was glad the city believed in handicap access .
Gideon: A night? And here she was saving his ***? Mona had some sort of story to her, one that Gideon wanted to find out. Maybe it was just the fact that he was a fellow Paladin. That didn't seem unlikely. As they picked up speed, Gideon found himself closing his eyes as things flew by a little faster than he could tolerate with the ringing and slow spinning sensation. “That sounds about right.” Gideon wasn't going to confess to spending a lot of time with anyone; he wasn't getting paid to screw anyone. Still, that didn't mean he wouldn't-which he obviously did. Still, he must have made an impression to be coming home with her. “If I gave some sort of impression...sorry. No rest until the blood sucker is good and dead.” Gideon said honestly as they made their way to the train station.
Mona: Impression ... boy did he make a impression but not the kind he thought he did. This impression was going to last a long damn time even if he didn't stick around. "Look you are a Paladin you do what you have to do we all fight the blood suckers in our own way and i fight i just choose my battles carefully apparently cause you can't fight them if you are dead . " The train came to a stop and she wheeled him off and down the street towards her garage . She had bad news for him the wheel chair wasn't going to make it up the stairs .
Gideon: Gideon sat in the chair and nodded his head. She had a point, but he wasn't planning on dying. “Good deal.” Gideon said, agreeing with Mona. How she choose to fight her battles wasn't any of his concern, he just hoped that she was fighting the battle against the undead. Blood suckers were leeches at best, but since they came around Gideon knew that his life wasn't the only life affected and ruined by them. There was a slight decline towards her place, Gideon's left hand on the arm rest and holding on to the metal that assisted with mobility, while the other remained in his lap. “Are you sure I'm not putting you out? With me on your couch for a couple days?” Gideon saw where they were coming to a stop and then looked up. He remembered. Vaguely. Stairs were involved.
Mona: Mona rolled to a stop in front of the garage no ******* way was she going to try and fit that chair through the front door she pulled out her key chain and hit the button. The steel garage door started its rattling assent as she pushed Gideon forward. Its not much but its home she pushed him over to the bottom of the stairs past a old junker she had been striping down for parts. "Do you think you can make it up the stairs?"
Gideon: His eyes bounce to the vehicles in the garage as the door rolls up. Gideon looks at the stairs and then nods. “Sure. So long as it's not a race.” He said with a soft chuckle before he put the breaks on once they were at the bottom of the stairs. With both hands on the sides of the arms, Gideon pushed his weight up with a groan and then stood. Slowly. He reached for the railing on the stairs and then took the steps one at a time. “Should have let you go first. Would have been the chivalrous thing to do.” He said, tossing his head to the left to look down at her. After about five, or six minutes, he made it to the top ledge and just stood there, catching his breath and attempting to juggle his memories about this place.
Mona: She went up the stairs behind him that's how she preferred it in this instance if he went down at least she could stop him from breaking his neck in a fall all the way to the bottom of the stairs. As he was catching his wind Mona unlocked the dead bolts and carefully opened the door just a bit sticking her hand in and disarmed the shotgun . She held the door open for him " After you sir"
Gideon: Thank goodness for needing a few extra breaths, he thought to himself as Mona disarmed the trap behind it. "Not a sir...just me." He said with a chuckle before moving in to the apartment above the garage. Immediately his eyes went to the table-the one he bought and he shook his head with a small smirk. "Nice choice in tables." He commented, before his back found a wall.
Mona: "Thank you You can take the bed if you want " She pointed to the half open area in the back. Mona had been fine until the train ride but since she had wheeled him to her place she had felt the nausea building in her gut. It was rolling into a unavoidable mass that was looking to explode at any moment now. She wanted to get him at least settled before ... It couldn’t wait . "Excuse me" she didn't run to the bathroom but damn near it she barely got the door shut before the white porcelain god she had been praying to the last few days became her best friend .
Re: Parasites and Guns go hand in hand [invite]
Gideon: He wouldn't take her bed. That was a dick move, especially since she busted him out of a potential vampire playground, and was letting him stay at her place. “We can sort that out later.” He said, right before she bolted off. And vomited. Just because a door was closed didn't mean Gideon didn't know the sound of someone puking their guts out. He gave her a couple seconds, before Gideon moved to the door and rapped on the somewhat closed door. Then pried it open a little. “You didn't say anything about being sick.” Well, she had, right? She said she had an appointment at the hospital. “I heard the flu was bad this year.” Gideon commented quietly, before moving around her and grabbing a hand towel and offering it to her.
Mona: "Thanks" Mona took the towel and wet it in the sink and washed her face. She gazed at him in the mirror she wasn't feeling especially cautious at the moment ." Its not the flu ... Its not contagious either I'm Pregnant " It the words just sort of hung there for him to absorb as they both stood in her bathroom.
Gideon: Not the flu, and not contagious. Then why the hell was she-? His thoughts cut off as she revealed the reason to her upchucking. “Oh.” He said with a nod and then looked to the kitchen table as they stood in the bathroom together in an awkward moment. “You don't look very--.” Gideon trailed off as his eyes dropped to Mona's stomach and then up at her face. “How pregnant, is pregnant?”
Mona: " I just found out for sure at my Doctors appointment " She turned looking at him directly "Apparently a new table isn't the only thing you gave me "'
Gideon: Somewhere in the back of his mind, Gideon didn't register that her pregnancy could have anything to do with him. He barely even knew Mona, and it seemed they only knew each other one night. So when she revealed it was his, he just stood there in disbelief. “I-wait. I think the head injury is getting to me. Thought you said it was mine.” He chuckled, because it seemed insane. Wait. Did he suit up? ****. Gideon couldn't remember. “That's not what you said, right?” He said, a hand coming to the sink to help him stand.
Mona: "Lets not talk about this in my bathroom and it looks like you need to sit down. " Mona walked out of the bathroom and waited at the door for him to follow her. She wanted to make sure he didn't pass out on the floor. She didn't want to have to drag him to the sofa .
Gideon: “I'm good. It's just a lot going on. Right now.” He rubbed at the side of his temple, then pushed off the sink and headed after her. “What are you going to do?” He asked, moving stiffly to the living room; a perfect zombie walk if anyone ever saw it. Gideon wasn't stupid by any means, but he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed either. Quite average, but what came out of his mouth was stupid. “Is it a boy or a girl?” He asked slowly, not that it mattered really. And not that she would know either, but obviously, something was either still scrambled up top, or he was still processing everything.
Mona: Mona sat down she waited for him to do the same ... "I'm keeping it doesn’t matter what it is ... This is what we have been fighting for ... I don’t care if you believe if its yours or not ... Ill do anything you need however to believe it for your piece of mind . First i need you to get better and not worry about it. This is a lot to process and I didn't want you to find out this way. Not with you like this I contemplated not telling you at all. But i didn't know my dad and i owed it to the kid to at least know who its father is . I don’t even know your real name all i have is some guy named Gio. So when you are better and got your head screwed on straight we can talk about what you need from me for your piece of mind ."
Gideon: He sat and just nodded. A lot. Every two words or so, he was nodding, just agreeing with Mona. And then the word 'okay' started accompanying his nods until she was silent. One final nod with the word and then he was just staring at her in silence. He told her his name was Gio? Obviously she knew it didn't fit because she said she didn't even know his real name. Gideon couldn't believe he gave her that name out of any other name in the world. “I believe you, I guess.” What would she gain by lying? Not a lot. “I go by Gideon now.” He said, nodding again. “Got a beer? Pretty thirsty.” Gideon said randomly, still thinking about what Mona said. “Just one time, really?” In other circumstances, maybe he would feel cocky about it, but this wasn't some light news. Not tonight, anyways.
Mona: Mona could tell that he was tired. **** this was too much for her and he just woke up from being shot in the hospital with a head injury at that . "She went to the fridge and got her last beer she had been going to toss all the booze once she had gotten home so Gideon was in luck . She cracked the top and handed it to him " I'm going to go get you a blanket and a pillow why dont you lie down and rest a bit. The remote to the Tv is there You have to be starving. You want a Pizza or something?"
Gideon: He watched her go to the fridge and then waited until she was done talking. He took the beer and took a sip of it. Should he be mixing pain meds with alcohol? Who the **** cared? “No. I mean, yeah. Whatever. I'm not picky.” Gideon said with a shrug of his shoulders. “Look. We're not done talking about this. Just give me a minute.” He asked, sitting back on the couch to get comfortable. “You should keep it.” He said, nodding slowly. Abortions weren't his thing or something he backed. Went against his belief system. “We should keep it.” He said after another sip.
Mona: Mona was quiet and let him rest and gather himself for a few moments few hours ago he was out just to wake up in the hospital not even knowing where the **** he was and she had just hit him with a baby bomb . True she hadn’t meant to she was going to wait but everything had exploded literally. Now it was just a matter of picking up all the pieces and putting them back together. She picked up her phone and slid her fingers across it and the Pizza was ordered . "Pizza is on its way ... I know this is a shock for you hell its a shock for me . I guess we weren’t too careful ." She shrugged her shoulders She would take care of everything she always did .
Gideon: He chuckled and then shook his head. “Guess not.” What else was there to say? “Do you need anything?” He asked, suddenly wondering what he should or shouldn't be doing. What did women need at this point? “Like a crib or something? We could go get one of those. Diapers too.” Gideon tipped his head back and then took a long *** guzzle of the beer. “Sorry. Processing. And didn't expect this.” He chuckled again. “New at this.” That wasn't an excuse, so was she. “I'll get better at it.” He followed up the previous thought with something more...solid.
Mona: "We have 8 months to worry about crib and diapers Now its just a matter of me taking care of myself i think being a paladin doesn’t hurt we don’t get sick like other people do. I guess but im still knocking off the booze and smoking . Going in the morning to stock up on Pre Natal vitamins and a few more healthy things to eat with the crap I'm sure I'm still going to be craving. I'm going to have to lay low on the Tabloid to i can't risk getting them riled up for awhile . I can't get in a fight like this its too risky "
Gideon: Gideon nodded again, before fishing out his wallet from the front pocket of the hospital gown. "Heads up." He tossed it in her direction after the warning. "Take what you need from there for your shopping trip." There was no reason for her to foot the bill.
Mona: Mona caught the wallet and laid it down on the table " Im not going until tomorrow what Size pants do you wear i doubt the hotel will turn your things over to a stranger So ill pick you up some jeans and a shirt so you can go with me to get them ... and i can heal you more tomorrow you will be right as rain after a few more spells "
Gideon: “Yeah, well in case I forget tomorrow.” He countered, because who the **** knew what tomorrow would bring? “Uhh, thirty six waist, thirty four length.” That he had no time answering. “But, I might be healed tomorrow.” Another counter. “What will happen to the tabloid for the next...eight? Did you say eight, months?”
Mona: "Yes little over 8 months I will just cover the fluff pieces and alien abductions sasquatch and the human related fanatical stuff ... with the tabloid. Well you don’t know what they did with your room. I have no idea how long you were in the hospital before i found you . So until you see what is what with that you have a couch and a roof at least "
Gideon: Did he hear her right? Was Mona offering for him to stay in her place for however long was needed? Gideon just nodded his head. “Good point.” Hopefully the owner of the place just kept his tab running. Gideon had always been good for it in the past. “You could hand it over to a 'ghost writer.' Gideon suggested with a shrug. The church did that sometimes when their P.R. Person was traveling abroad to other countries.
Mona: She laughed she was it far as staff was she had one person that sent in the Dear Jane letters other than that it was her baby "Im the only person at the Sun my labor costs are nill I have some large t shirts and a bathrobe if you want something to cover your *** for tonight but i don't mind the view if you don't "
Gideon: He nodded, then felt the corners of his lips etching up into a smirk. “Since you don't mind. I only sleep with one thing, and that's a gun next to my pillow.” He stated, before tugging the hospital gown over his head and proceeded to fold it as nice as possible. “Wonder if the pizza man might though.” He shrugged, clearly not caring.
Mona: Mona Smiled "Well if you must there is one under the edge of the sofa one taped under the end table if those aren’t close enough for you i will get you one to put under your pillow " Just then a loud buzzing noise filled the apartment. Mona got up "That will be the Pizza. I'll be right back” she headed toward the door and down the stairs and soon returned carrying a large Pizza box .
Gideon: “I think I could manage.” He assured her as she walked out, then felt around for both guns mentioned, because he didn't want to end up with his metaphorical dick hanging out if something came here and they weren't there. “Smells good.” Gideon said, looping both hands behind his head, acting as natural as possible. He believed she believed the guns were there, but people made mistakes. “Stairs are going to be a ***** in about six months from now.” He pointed out, both hands slowly dropping to his sides. “Just something to think about.” He commented.
Mona: "We will see how it goes if all else fails ill look for a new place. Im going to have to anyway This garage apartment is nice for me but its no place to raise a kid they grow quick and they will need a space of their own. So yeah i will need to do that while i can . Let me ask you this How involved do you want to be in this ... I know we hardly know each other and im not expecting a husband or anything out of this.. but i don’t want a situation like i had where i didn't know my dad at all until i tracked him down to this god forsaken place So yeah what do you want to do ?
Gideon: There was the million dollar question. What did he want to do? “I want to eat some pizza, first.” He said, then raised both hands with a chuckle. “A bigger space would be a good idea.” He added in with a nod, agreeing with Mona. The place was nice, but the space was small and with all the things a baby needed. Fuuuuuuuuck. Gideon coughed and took a sip of his beer. “I don't know.” He said. “I'm not sure I'd be any good at this. You're going to lay low, because you have to. Need to. That's not really in my nature. Which isn't fair on you. You've got enough on your plate.” He said slowly. “I'm involved. I'll be involved.” He sounded like a ******* douche. “We've got time to sort that out. How involved. It's kind of your call too.” He added in. She might want him to be completely involved right now, but give it a few months and she might be ready to tell him to **** right off. "I sound like a dick. I'm not trying to be. It's just kind of weird. We don't really even know each other and now we're having a kid." He laughed at the irony of how a one night stand could end up like this.
Mona: "We have time before the kid gets here " She had been watching him. She remembered exactly how she had ended up this way it was sitting nude on her sofa right now. She bit her lower lip and tried to hide what she was thinking by taking another bite of pizza .
Gideon: He had grabbed some pizza while he had been talking and started chewing it down, before she spoke. He expected...more. Mona seemed pretty laid back and agreeable to whatever he was saying. “My name is Marcus. It's what my parent's named me. But I belong to Gideons International back home...” he trailed off. “I sort of adopted the name after I became a paladin.” Now seemed like the best time to be honest about who he really was, not that she couldn't see for herself with his driver's license sitting on her table. He took another bite of pizza and let that sit there with her for a moment.
Mona: How did a church boy turn into what was sitting before her? He was a long way from a church boy, yet here they both were, ordained in a mortal fight against the unholy. She guessed it took a few believing sinners to fight against such blatant evil.
Gideon: Gideon noticed the absence of words and normally he didn't mind those things. But they were having a ******* baby, so was the lack of words a good thing? Probably not. "You've asked what I wanted, but what do you want?" He asked plainly, eyes trailing down to her stomach area.
Mona: Mona stopped chewing and swallowed hard She guessed she hadn't hid what she was thinking as well at all. "Well its hard to think with you sitting there like that "
Gideon: Gideon set the pizza he was working on down on the top of the inner lid before a laugh came from him. "The gown wasn't really serving a purpose. Thinner than a piece of paper." He said, but no apology came with it. "I'd kill for a shower." He said, knowing it had been more than a day since he had one.
Mona: Mona laughed " Well you know where the bathroom is. There are fresh towels in the cabinet. If you want a robe its hanging on the back of the door. All the stuff you need is there. " She nodded towards the bathroom door "No killing necessary "
Gideon: His eyes moved around the immediate area of the apartment as she said he knew where the bathroom was, eyes falling on the half-way closed door. With a nod he slowly stood, and went to raise both arms over his head. When he got to a certain point, Gideon cringed and then dropped his arms to hang loosely at his side. “I'll consider it.” He commented about the robe as Gideon started to disappear in the direction of the bathroom, but was probably going to dismiss the offer while he showered. When he was at the door of the bathroom, he cocked a head back in her direction and gave her a once over with his eyes. “Seems I'm a little stiff in my shoulders. Hard to wash my hair.” He stated the obvious, but added in. “If you're any good at playing nurse...” Gideon left it there, before disappearing into the bathroom completely.
Mona: Mona gulped wishing she could take a drink of that beer as he disappeared into the bathroom. Well why not Mona , the damage has already been done. She got up and went to the bathroom door. He had found himself a towel .
Gideon: Gideon wasn't sure if Mona was going to take the offer, but the slow creak of the door let him know that she was game. A towel had been found and set on the lip of the sink, while the water in the bathtub ran, warming up before he was ready to jump in. He turned away from the running water and cast a look in her direction. His eyes ran down the length of her body, pausing for a second at her stomach, before continuing their journey. “Hope you like it hot.” He said, eyes back on her face. “Helps loosen the muscles.” And were his stiff.
Re: Parasites and Guns go hand in hand [invite]
Mona stirred her hair was still damp against the pillow and the couch was empty. There was one muscular arm around her waist and his hand rested on her stomach as he slept against her. It struck Mona that there was something slightly possessive in that particular position. Then she pushed it out of her mind he was just sleeping and she might be a substitute for his favorite Teddy bear or some sort of **** .
She eased his arm off of her and slid out of the bed . She wanted a smoke something awful. The gnawing urge to light up was there and raging. She ignored it as her bare feet hit the cold floor she padded to the fridge.
The empty stared back at her She was going to have to stock up now she couldn't go missing meals.
She was eating for 2 or some **** like that wasn't she ? She went to the sink instead and ran a glass of water taking a sip of the cool clear liquid that tasted like **** . The grimace washed over her features ... Bottled water it was going to have to be ... That stuff tasted like a bear had taken a dump in it .
She made her way back to the area that served as her bedroom. She paused as she caught sight of him sleeping there ... a shiver went through her ... Yeah she didn't have any clothes on but she knew good and well that she wasn't cold . She watched him carefully for a moment more then eased back down on the bed ... What are you doing Mona she thought to herself and knew she wouldn't sleep .
