The Mentor System (karma rewards)
Want to earn free karma while helping newbies to get the hang of the game? Well now that's possible.
Any new player of the game who joined as far back as a month ago (or later) can now PM me saying who acted as their mentor in getting the hang of the game and the roleplay, and I'll pay that mentor 15 karma, as well as passing 5 free karma to the newbie as thanks for PMing to let me know.
What does it mean to be a mentor? It means helping the newbie with any questions, guiding them through the more difficult aspects of the game, introducing them to confusing elements, and generally just taking them under your wing. This can be a newbie you meet on chats, or this can be somebody you actually referred to the game (you'll still earn referral bonuses on top of this).
There are only two requirements:
1. The newbie must have stuck around to play the game for at least a month or more so far.
2. The newbie must have posted at least 20 times in roleplay threads.
After that, the newbie simply needs to PM me on the forum naming you as their mentor.
This is a decent opportunity to earn some free karma, because it means that you can really just sit around in chats and pounce on newbies to help them out, in the hopes that they'll turn to you for advice for their first month at least. You'll also make new friends, and new roleplaying partners.

I could use a mentor and then some. I've literally no clue where to start. Though this place does seem lovely, I must say.

A mentor would help a lot for sure.
It would probably be best to be on the same time zone or same time as you are online as your mentor, so what is your 'usual' online schedule?

Pretty much what Doc player said. You could jump into chats on the grid too and see if someone is around and snag a possible in there too!Doc wrote:A mentor would help a lot for sure.

Just to let David know I will be mentoring Shawn he's a new player and plays a blood thief. Kitty is teaching him the ways of being one seeing how she was once one before her turn. We will be posting on the forums here shortly. :)
