A Shadow, ironically, casts no shadow at all, even under the strongest of lights, unless they concentrate hard to project part of their shadow form onto the surface where their shadow might realistically be. This process, however, takes a lot of careful practice, as they must always be aware of the surrounding light sources and what impact they would realistically have on the casting of their shadow. For this reason, they tend to stick to darker areas, or stand under multiple light sources to disguise this subtle flaw. It does also cause them a problem with the shadow on their own bodies, unless they concentrate (for example, the underside of a person's arm would usually be shaded, but theirs are not).
I'm having a hard time understanding how shadows don't look like 2D characters. If they cannot cast shadow unto themselves, their nose bridge and nostrils wouldn't be visible, flattening the appearance of their face. Their hair would just be a bulky mass because no strand would have a definite edge without the contrast of highlight/shadow. So, I guess I'm very confused as to what a shadow path would look like - how to describe them, how they'd be perceived by those who aren't so observant vs those who are. I can understand they cast no shadow onto other things - and how to write it, but I'm stumped for photo-editing and written description. In Harlow's case, she already has unnatural aura, but .... I don't know. I need to hear what y'all think / do. I seek guidance, oh forum roleplayers of the vampiric path.
You are now stuck in the shadow realm until you can find a way back to the realm of the living.

^ The above is what Every used to do at first - I don't see why male shadows couldn't do it either, if they really wished, but then she began with practice as she got a little more skilled to manipulate and project it around her before I ultimately got instant shadow projection.
Sometimes overthinking can be our downfall with shadow characters.

Very true. It was merely out of curiosity, really. I don't really see the need to go that into detail when writing.
I simply was curious about how they'd be perceived, or how people have played / written that aspect of the path.
I am intent on getting her the power, in due time :3 Focusing on making her rich right now eh he he he.
