Sunday Sanctuary Silliness - Daytime! [Open]

Post by Robert Pratt »

Sunday the 19th of June was forecast to be a lovely day, followed by a lovely evening - and so Robert and those in Solace had been hard at work for the last week, organising a bit of a party. It had been too long since something fun had happened on a large scale for the residents and the community, so they'd taken it upon themselves to arrange something. At first, it was just going to be a little BBQ, but with Robert involved - it soon grew to so much more than that. He had it arranged that Belle would be in charge of the event throughout the day, while he would take over once the sun had receded below the horizon. So much effort, so much work, and finally it was all coming together.

His shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbow, he walked around the area on the Saturday night - well, early Sunday morning before the sun rose, and surveyed it all. The grounds of the Sanctuary had been totally rearranged from how they normally were, and new structures sprang up left and right. The Sanctuary herself sat in the middle of the area, with a 6' high hedge that ran around three sides of it to separate the grounds from the wood. She was a large building, with multiple floors, but built beautifully out of reclaimed logs and then covered in natural moss and grass so that it wasn't an eyesore in the middle of the woods. The fourth side had a river that ran straight up to it, pooling in a deep dip before running off underground somewhere. The whole of the ground floor wall here was made of tinted glass, so that you couldn't see in - but could see out. This allowed those in the meditation and yoga suite, as well as the salon and gym to look out on the natural landscape.

Where the playpark usually sat, was now a large waterslide and flume stucture, ending at the natural pool which had had heaters added to ensure the water was warm for any who chose to swim. To the rear of the property was; a giant, multistorey bouncy castle - an inflatable wrestling ring complete with fat suits - a large trampoline - An inflatable bungee run - and for those more daring, an assault course that ran from the rear all the way down the side towards the front of the Sanctuary, which included a large climbing wall and an abseil off the other side. He watched as the final preparations were made to the final activity outside, and the zipline from the second floor was secured down the road - so they'd fly down and along the river, across the road, to land on a large foam pad. Meanwhile, the whole of the front area had been taken up by a line of BBQs that he quickly counted to ensure there were enough. With 9 of them counted, he was satisfied that they'd managed to find enough to cook the food he suspected he'd need, though with the little stalls and carts he'd arranged to come over from the funfair he was confident there was more than enough food!

He pulled his phone out, thinking about the funfair, and checked his emails - smiling when he saw the one from the manager, confirming that the performers he'd requested from the circus would indeed be attending both the day and night segments of the event to entertain people. Clowns, jugglers, fire breathers, stilt walkers, tightrope walkers and more were all going to be milling about within the crowds to make sure everyone was having a good time - human and vampire alike.

He headed inside and looked around at all of the sports equipment that had been set out; bowling, table tennis, indoor mini and crazy golf, boules, even the gokart track down the corridor at the back had been set up and ready to go. Finally, he checked the blood supplies in the fridge in the kitchen, ensuring there was something for everyone and that all tastes had been catered for. Satisfied that all was in order, he settled himself down with the paper and finished his mug of blood, smiling as he saw the advert he'd placed advertising tomorrow. That, along with the posters and flyers he and the others had been handing out around the city as well as leaving on trains, buses, and in cafes should have got word out so that there would be a good crowd of people here when gates opened at 10am.

Happy, he washed up his cup and set it on the drainer, put the paper into the recycling, and then headed upstairs to find his wife and get a good day's sleep before his shift the next night.

((Feel free to jump on in anytime you like, I've split the thread into day and night as I figured it would be too complicated and confusing trying to do both in one thread, or missing out the day which might cut out any humans that might want to RP. In this thread, I'll be RP'ing Belle as Robert is asleep. You're completely welcome to join both threads if it fits for your charrie, and there are loads of NPCs around to play with if you like.

Feel free to PM me with questions, or hit up the Solace thread in RP planning. Have fun! ))

Every morning typically started out the same for Hannah, with very little deviation from her set agenda, until today. This was the first morning in over a month that she had absolutely nothing to do. No work, planned, or unplanned. No unpacking, because she was finally unpacked, and no pre-planned Facetime with her half-sister, because her Misao had a date tonight. A third date, if Hannah remembered right, which was a rare phenomenon for either woman, which probably meant at some stage, Hannah would have to learn more than just his name. She reminded herself to do that as Hannah sat at her small breakfast table, stirring her Lemon Zinger flavored tea as she browsed through her emails, before logging out of her account, and moving to the bathroom to shower. Routine, like most mornings, followed by a quick breakfast of some sort of flavored bagel (today would be blueberry), topped with a thin layer of cream cheese and out the door. But, not today. Not yet.

After her shower, bagel and the finishing of her tea, Hannah moved to the spare room, which had become an extended closet of sorts. In one area were her belongings for rock climbing, and hiking. In another, her clothing for her Jujitsu class, along with a box filled with the various colored and leveled belts she had earned. It was a constant reminder that she should be continuing with her classes, but the lack of time here just didn't permit it yet. Hannah moved to the corner of the room where a dark purple and gray backpack could be found, along with her Antu gray and purple Montara boots. She zipped open the bag to make sure her Tarantulace climbing shoes were still in the bag, spotted the green and black colored shoes, along with her gloves, so zipped the bag back up. Hannah then moved to the closet to pull out a gray and pink halter style tank top, followed by her Onzie black sky themed graphic capri pants.

She moved back to her bedroom to find a Ibex sports bra, a bright shade of pink, with a matching micro-weight bikini style panty and slipped those on, before tugging on the form fitting capri, followed by a flowy halter top. She moved back to the second bedroom, slipped both feet into the boots, tied them, collected the bag, and tossed it over her right shoulder. She then moved to the kitchen and grabbed two see through, sea green colored water bottles and threw it in her Burton backpack. “Bye Amarillo and Magnolia.” Hannah called to the cats that were on her bed, before she closed the door and secured the apartment.

Before starting the stark white colored four door rental car, Hannah looked in the mirror and tossed her hair up into a messy pony-tail. With her hair out of the way for the day, the key was put in the ignition and turned, allowing the engine to roar to life. The backpack was tossed in the passenger seat, her feet found their way inside, the door closed and Hannah was digging around for a 'No Doubt' cd she brought from home. Finding 'No Doubt's “Tragic Kingdom,” cd, Hannah turned on the indicator, and pulled into the traffic once there was a break in cars zooming by the tower.

Someone at work had told her about some decent trails and rock climbing spots outside the city limits, to the west. They told her once she passed the college campus and trailer park, she wouldn't be that far off. Just a few more miles and there would be an old castle and cabins. Through there would be some sort of cave system, great for climbing. It would be as they claimed it to be, or it would be a bust, but regardless, Hannah could enjoy her time taking a trail or two in the woods to escape the bustle of the city life. Maybe even find a place to fish, since Hannah liked to fish; the recreational kind. She never kept anything she caught, she just liked catching them.

Hannah managed to find the university since she could get the address from an online search, and put it in the GPS, but she bypassed the trailer park without knowing it and found herself just driving around until she came across some hustle and bustle of something going on. A party, or celebration of something...”Excuse me!” Hannah shouted as the driver side window rolled down, shouting at no one, and everyone at the same time. Most people ignored her, knowing they didn't know anyone in that type of car, while some looked at her; even glared at her, and a couple tried to help her, but could only offer shrugs, blank stares, and mumbled apologies. “Great.” Hannah grumbled, coming to a stand still as a large swarm of pedestrians walked in the road towards the festivities.
