Chasing the Hunt [Trahir ]

Post by Mortll »

Mortll frowned it had been weeks since her last dalliance with Mr Trahison. She had owed him 3 nights and they had barely made it through two, their last encounter ending rather abruptly. She did not know what had become of the rather arrogant man but she did not like owing anyone anything especially favors or time. Either of those two things could come back and bite you in the *** horribly if you let it go on too long. She had let the time slide by into the New year already it was time for Mr Trahison to finish up this deal.

Mortll picked up her phone with long slender fingers that had a day's worth of soil and mulch hiding behind the perfectly manicured nails and swiped her finger across the screen. She cradled the device to her ear and listened for the Male's voice to interrupt the annoying rings as she grew impatient.

Looking at the vibrating phone next to the fleshy canvas the Killer is working on he frowns. Much had happened since last he and Mortll spoke and he wondered if Doc’s attack on him had to do with the woman. He had always enjoyed the company of Dr. Nilson and the unprovoked assault had Trahir at a loss. He remembered that Doc and Mortll had been involved in an extramarital affair of Doc’s part and while scandalous, Trahir knowing about his getting his dick wet on the side was far from worth attacking a fellow vampire. Doc had made no claims toward Jane either that Trahir was aware of so he was at a loss as to why he was on the receiving end of such animosity. There were possible reasons, none of which Trahir could possibly conceive of being the right ones though.

Trahir had left Tytonidae after that little pissant Blake was left in charge. A man Trahir had not agreed to follow at any point in his life and Trahir was not about to bend the knee and accept any form of admonishment. That had started a rift between he and many others. Trahir had agreed to be a killer on a leash so long as he knew the hands which held that leash. He’d never bitten the hand that fed until that hand had given the leash to another.

When he was forced from Andras after the assault by Doc it had completed the bastardization. Sides had been chosen. Not being one to care for the opinions of others Trahir was never destined to win a popularity contest. He’d introduced Jane to his sire and her mate. It had… not gone so well. He’d heard nothing from any other the others. Fair weather friends were nothing new in this world though. He would be fine.

Trahir’s mind worked out the common denominators. Tytonidae, Mortll, Dominique.

Plenty of other vampires had left Tytonidae for one reason or another. They had not been attacked. That left Mortll and Dominique alone. Dominique was tight-lipped. She never even spoke of herself unless prodded. Trahir respected that about her.

That left Mortll. If Doc knew about him and Dominique then it was likely not Dominique who told him. Who else knew? Velveteen and Micah? Trahir was a minor concern to them at best. They had better things to do that talk about who was banging who. They had a faction and family to run. Mortll knew. She was close with Doc. It made sense.

He looked over to Nicolette. “Take a message. I’m out.”

He went back to his work, peeling the flesh from a gangster he had killed earlier. He was making a gift for Dominique and it had to be perfect.

Nicolette picked up the ringing phone and in her french and english answered, “Thank you for calling the Harper Rock Hunt Club, this is Nicolette speaking. How may I help you?”

Mortll had waited for awhile to contact Mr Trahison for many reasons. She had heard of his many troubles as of late. Some of them had probably been directly linked to conversations she had with Doc. She had known about Mr Trahison and Domonique before he had bought Mortll at auction. She thought that their acquaintance was doing the young Vampiress some good. It wasn't until the first night they had talked on Mr Trahisons front porch that Mortll had become concerned. Mr Trahison had used evidence he had on Domonique and claimed to have even more on the young woman to use against her to bend her to his will. Did she tell Doc about this Hell yeah and would have expected Doc to do the same for her if it was blatantly told to him.

It had been quite awhile before Doc had seemed to lose his cool with Mr Trahison it had been weeks since Mortll and Docs conversations on the topic of Dom and Mr Trahison so when The grapevine rumors of Mr Trahison having troubles in Andreas and an attack by Doc taking the man's leg. It had been unexpected but not a total surprise. She figured he had enough problems and she was not a concern to him/ To her though a deal was a deal and she absolutely hated owning anyone. She heard the familiar voice of his assistant speaking to her Mortll Smiled and replied “ Bonjour, pourriez-vous dire à Mister Trahison que je lui dois une expédition de chasse et voudrais faire une date dès que possible ‘?"

“Oui,” the thrall said into the phone, her eyes cutting to Trahir as she spoke instinctively. “Comment t’appelles-tu, madame?”

The vampire found it amusing how the mind worked. A person generally looked to things mentioned without thought. Only those who were skilled in deception took in information without any sign outwardly of what they learned. His preternatural hearing told him who it was on the line and he sat in silence while Nicolette took the message. He remembered the assault of the woman’s ex lover, his mate’s sire all too well. He had not retaliated. No, that would do nothing. He simply logged the incident in his mind and determined to gain a measure of revenge in a more meaningful way later on. Perhaps he would put one of the man’s childer on a train out of Harper Rock wired to blow up when it reached a certain distance away. Perhaps he would pay for hackers to tear his business apart from the inside. Maybe he would simply out him to existing hunter cells. Trahir was undecided for the moment.

He was equally undecided on what to do with Mortll. He knew she had given his information to her former lover. Not much else made sense. It was an unforgivable slight and reparation was necessary.

Mortll dropped the french. “Mortll tell him it's Mortll.” She left it at that either he was going to speak to her or not. She sure as hell wasn’t going to jump through hoops to get to do so. She had never been any ones trick pony. She waited for a few moments giving the other woman time to convey the message, Contemplating on whether she should hang up or not.

Reaching his hand out, Trahir took a towel and wiped off the majority of the blood staining his arms from elbows down. He'd never heard of blood ruining a phone before, it was supposedly a waterproof case... still. Better safe than sorry. Nicolette walked over while speaking, "Yes of course madame, here he is". She handed the phone to Trahir and made herself scarce as he took the device and watched her with expressionless eyes. Once Nicolette had vanished from sight he raised the phone to his ear and said in a pleasant voice, "This is Trahir."

Niceties in his word were always to be observed regardless of the situation. There was rarely a call to demean oneself by being outright insulting and if one had to say, put another individual down, it should be done in a way that was indirect. There were times to speak plainly, when at work, when discussing business, when with ones mate or close confidante and there were times to be guarded. He'd forgotten to guard during his last meeting with Mortll.

He'd learned. "What can I do for you Miss Mortll?"

Mortll listened as the timber of the males voice extended to her ears . "Well it has been some time since our last encounter Mr Trahison I was wondering if you still intended to hold me to the hunt or Were you going to relinquish the rest of my promised time ?" She thought she knew the answer to that question before it was asked but she somehow thought the terms of the hunt had changed. This was going to be interesting to see what the male proposed .

Right to the meat of the call so to speak. She no doubt knew he was irked. He was actually surprised she was calling him rather than waiting for him to contact her. There were a few reasons why she would though. One of them had accosted him months back. She was close with Doc. Perhaps he had set her up with the idea. Ambush? It was fully plausible in all actuality. Tytonidae got their jobs done. There was no such thing as a dirty trick. Trahir very much agreed with that mindset. All was fair in blood and war.

"I wasn't sure you were going to... honor..." stressing the word of course, "your agreement there." He moved to one of the coffins arranged in a circular pattern around a stone slab Trahir planned on one day housing an altar for ritualists of his Bloodline if he eventually chose to sire any. "A hunt... yes, I would enjoy a hunt very much. Of course after some incidents of late I think it best we agree to a signing of a non-disclosure agreement for the duration of your... employment. I really should have thought of it sooner. Wouldn't want any dirty little secrets getting out would we?"

Mortll had to laugh she wasn't laughing at the male she The suddenness of the statement of a non Disclosure contract had the song lyrics" Whoop there it is" suddenly going through her head. Mr Trahision had invited a stranger to his home told her secrets and had not thought to say hey this is just between you and I ... even though what he had told Mortll would have left her struggling Not to tell Doc even if Doc had ripped her heart apart and handed it back to her. Blackmailing Dom no you don't mess with childer like that it was a huge no no and Mr Trahision was bold as brass to her about it. It was something Mortll couldn't overlook it seemed like she needed to have a nice one on one conversation with Mr Trahison and get a few things straight with him and iron out their differences before they went on a hunt where they both would have weapons and tempers. "A non disclosure contract in our situation would be highly laughable Mr Trahison only you could enforce it then you would have one hell of a time doing that . I do think we need to talk however and get a few things straight and boundaries clear . If you would like to meet me somewhere tomorrow night . Would that fit in with your schedule ?" Mortll waited patiently for the mans reply hoping he had not been offended by her laughter .

Trahir listened calmly to the tone of the other voice on the phone, his face somber in the dim light of the crypt. "Oh, I'm fairly certain that any agreement could be enforced upon the other with little difficulty for a negligible cost actually. Something I learned quite recently. I would, however hold my end of the agreement, any agreement I made really to the letter. When one has an eternity to be known as one who can't even do something simple like keep their mouth shut I would imagine they will find that eternity seems to stretch out even longer than the forever it is. You have at most four years ahead of me in growth. That is a drop in the bucket compared to when lingers ahead. It is much to early in the game to make enemies that will last forever girl. Tomorrow night. I'll text you a location. Bring a pen."

He hangs up the phone, setting it down on the coffin and shaking his head in the darkness. The braziers cast their infernal light, throwing a orange and red sheen on every surface except his eyes. In the reflected light they are a rich iridescent gold.

After a moment he rises, heading back into the chamber where the half skinned body lays pooling it's blood over the butcher block table. He hopes the coagulation of the fluids around his cuts won't have wrecked the leather...
