Now Hireing
Cathy sat at one of the booth it was before the diner opened and he had a sign in the window now hiring. She had interviewed a few people for the job of wait staff/busser but no one had yet fit the bill for the job she was looking for. Her one curse was also working on her making her want to go and hide but she was a business woman and she would stick this out. She also knew that she needed the new person for the job because her business was growing and she had more people in everyday. This was good but she needed more staff and that was taking time. Most of the people that came in did not look like they could even do the job let alone be what they needed to be to start that day. She was starting to think that no one would be able to fill the position and this was starting to get her down.
She was looking for someone to fill the roll that would look the part in the uniform that they had to wear though it was not that bad it was just what someone would wear in the 50’s. Most had though a look about them like they would not fit in the time frame of her diner. Unlike some of the others she had hired. Even Seb fit in and he was different then again he was a great cook and she loved his work. She also had him make sure at times when the place was closed it was safe so he did double duty but he was a great worker and there was times he got a bonus for his work. As she sat at the table with her hair in a ponytail and poodle skirt on she looked out the window into the mall hoping someone would come along and be able to fill the position she was needing filled.

Re: Now Hireing
Marcus was once again wandering aimlessly hoping to find some easy marks to practice his pickpocketing skills on. He was wearing his orange jacket, the only jacket he owned at the moment, some black jeans and his black boots. He had just walked past a diner and looked through the window to get a peek inside. It wasn't very busy by the look of it. It had a 50's kind of vibe to it and made him picture greasy burgers and trays of fries. He grabbed at his stomach and could feel the hunger pangs. He hadn't been lucky the past few days and had to skip a few meals. Heck, he even got caught by someone but quickly pushed that memory aside.
Marcus noticed a "Now Hiring" sign and stopped in his tracks. Maybe he could stop in and apply. He could definitely use some money, at least enough to feed him and get him enough cash for a motel room. His budding career as a petty thief and password guessing hacker wasn't exactly getting food in his stomach. Marcus took a deep breath and decided to head on in.
Upon entry the first thing he noticed was the smell of food. Something smelled great and he really wished he had some money on him at the moment. The 50's decor was appealing and didn't come on too strong. Just enough to be nostalgic but not enough to warrant this place a a niche restaurant. He looked around and saw a woman sitting at a table alone. It looked like she was looking at some paper work, maybe applications, and had the right outfit to fit in here. Marcus had to admit she definitely pulled off the ponytail and poodle skirt she was wearing.
Marcus walked toward her and put on his patent charming smile he always used when dealing with others. He was always a bit of a smooth talker and felt confident he could nail a face to face interview. He stopped by her booth but didn't sit down, that would be rude to do so uninvited. "Excuse me, I saw the hiring ad outside and was wondering if I could apply for whatever position is available. I'm Marcus." He says with a pleasant tone, making direct eye contact and realizing that the woman's eyes were a nice shade of green just like his own.

Cathy looks up at the young man and smiles at him. "Yes we are hiring. My name is Cathy Dawn. I am the owner. Here is an application. Would you like something to eat and drink while you fill it out. Looks like you just got into town and could use a good home cooked meal and a coke or is a chocolate milkshake more to your liking." She hand the young man the application and looks him over. He looks like he would fit the 50's theme of her restaurant and she liked that. She waited for him to sit down and showed him a menu so he could choose between a burger and fries or a chilli dog and fires. She would bring him what he wanted to eat while he filled out the form she also slipped in the tax forms that would need to be filled out because he would more than likely be hired for the position. She also looked way to young to be an owner of a diner but she was which was good.

Re: Now Hireing
Marcus was ecstatic to say the least when she offered him a meal. He rarely got those, let alone freshly cooked ones as he flashed back to snatching small snacks from desks or whatever he could find left behind by others in diners like this one. Marcus took a seat across from her as she handed him a menu and some paperwork to fill out. He didn't need to look at the menu as he knew he could use a nice greasy burger. "The burger and fries would definitely hit the spot and a Coke would be just fine with me. Thank you very much, miss..." Marcus takes a moment to look at her name tag that hangs on her chest. "Cathy." He finishes handing her back the menu and giving the paper work a quick glance. Nothing on here should be difficult to fill out.
Marcus got to work on it as soon as Cathy steps away, filling in his personal info, past employment, and some old contacts that probably don't remember him but will make something up as most contacts tend to do. He only ran into a snag when he reached the "current place of residence" line and decided to leave it blank. If she asked he could just say he was currently in between some places and had no single address. No reason to let her know he was actually homeless and could only afford a motel once in a while when he got lucky and pawned something nice.

Cathy went and got the burger and fires as well as the coke bringing them back to the table. She noticed he left the place of residence blank and smiled. "Here you go. Oh if you need a place I have a place for workers that need one till they can afford their own over in Ivory Tower 12th floor apart 1204. You can use that as the address. I have not furinished it yet so it is close to work. I think everyone needs a place." She looked over his application and smiled at him. "So tell me about you an why you think you might be good as a waiter in this diner?"

Re: Now Hireing
Marcus was glad to see the food arrive and was tempted to start eating but knew that it would be a bad impression. Some thing about this place reminded him of a conversation he had online. He knew he had a job offer on there but never got an address because of how he had to go suddenly. Marcus kept quiet about this and was a bit embarrassed by Cathy's offer. He had a place to stay but it wasn't exactly something he wanted to promote. Yeah, I live right above a bar but I swear I'm not an alcoholic.
"Actually, I'm currently at a place called Bunk Backpackers. But it doesn't really allow mail for those who stay. So is it okay if I put that down but just pick up any paperwork in person?" Marcus asked as he tried to remember what he was forgetting. Yesterday was pretty eventful and he had a lot on his mind. "Well, i was a waiter for a year at a restaurant back home. I put them as a reference on my application. I'm a hard worker who is alway willing to give his best and go the extra mile to make sure the guest has had an excellent experience. I also like to believe that I am great with customer service and believe that is the key difference between a good waiter and an excellent waiter. I'm always willing to learn something new on the job. I'm usually not content learning the bare minimum for a job." Marcus finished with a charismatic smile. By now he would have tried flirting with someone as cute as Cathy but didn't want to get too friendly with his possible boss. Yet.
As Marcus took in his surroundings a bit more he realized he had heard of only one 50's styled diner on town. "You would have happened to be chatting with someone online yesterday by the handle of Gizmo would you? I know random question but I just gotta know." Marcus said with a charming smile and an excited look in his eye. What would be the odds that he found that place on his own.

She had to laugh and smile at that. "Yes. Do you remember Innocent Divergent? That is me. I think I have my new waiter. You have the job Giz and that is the truth. Like I said though if you need to crash close to work though there is the place not but two blocks away in Ivory Tower. I am going to leave that one for workers to use and you can get papers here if you need them. You will get good pay and you will get a meal on your break and after work to take home with you. "

Re: Now Hireing
Marcus couldn't believe his luck. He had actually managed to both find this location and get the job. Heck, it even came with a free meal every shift as well as a place to crash near by. This was some what strange but he wasn't going to complain. "Thank you very much for this. I won't let you down." Marcus said with a large smile on his face. "When do you need me to start? I'm available as soon as tomorrow morning. I do have a prior engagement tonight otherwise I'd be all yours tonight." He said with a bit of charm. He couldn't resist. She was pretty hot and he was in a good mood now.
He began to wonder who else worked here since he had only seen her and heard some activity coming from the kitchen. "Do you have a large staff? I'd like to get to know my co-workers as soon as possible. Oh, and is there any required training I need before I start working?" Marcus asked, trying to cover all the information he may need for his first week. He was eager to say the least.
