--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

< Adelita > The Latina sat at her portable crafting bench in the stark, white building that was known at Lumen; or for some people that knew Blake, the Academy, with an assortment of supplies in a semi-circle around the woman. Tonight, she had forgone the regular, tedious working of crafting guns and swords and decided to once again try her hand at making various traps. There were two bear traps that had already been made, when Adelita noticed she had no iron blocks left in her assortment of parts. Opting to make use of the shot guns she scored in the slums a couple nights ago, Lita started hooking the wire reel through the trigger. She had just about secured it to the trigger when her cell phone went off playing Whinny’s designated tone, causing Lita’s fingers to slip and hit the trigger, resulting in a decent sized hole in the wall to her right.

Her chocolate orbs swished to the right, grew in size and Adelita uttered two words. “Oh, mierda!” As quietly and as quickly as Adelita could, she gathered every piece of machinery, every nut and bolt and anything else she could find and silently slipped out of the school.

It wasn’t like she wasn’t going to tell Blake what had happened. She was sure he could figure it out in two seconds as not many people came in other than her. It was sort of pathetic, wasn’t it? If Lita wasn’t at work, or sleeping, then she was crafting away in Lumen like she had nothing better to do. She did have things to do, but Lita decided to work hard at putting together all the things Blake and Whinny had given her first and then go do what she wanted to do later. A task that she thought would be easier and quicker than it actually was.

Lita dropped everything off at the apartment, then made some calls around the city to some contractors. Maybe, just maybe she could get it fixed before Blake would know and then she could tell him that she blew a chunk out of his dry wall. Only, not many people were answering their phones at this time of night. No one had, actually. So, after a back and forth text session with Whinny, Lita came to the conclusion she would need to make some quick, and easy cash by lifting some wallets off people in a pub near the honeymead area.

Did she feel guilty about it? Not at all. Adelita wasn’t a very good thief and so if she managed to get a few wallets, it was their fault really. A lesson learned to them. Only, something else caught her attention when she walked into the pub. Something circular and shiny, lying right on the ground. Lita scooped it up and held it like it was some coveted prized possession; which it very well could be and left without any wallets being taken tonight. No, this unique looking beauty might be worth something more than what she could find in a handful of wallets.

After waiting in line at a shop, Lita discovered that it was worth more than anything she would have gotten from wallet thieving, but the woman behind the counter wasn’t very helpful. She said it was a rare coin she had seen only a couple times this last year and was willing to give her a couple thousand for it. Lita decided against it, due to the woman’s unhelpful nature, got her phone out and sent Blake a message. She should probably tell him about the wall., but people generally liked good news first over bad news. So, Lita decided to start with that, even if it wasn’t good news for him necessarily. I found something that is rare, supposedly. Want to come see the goods? So, it was slightly flirty, as was everything Lita said and did, but Blake hardly seemed phased by that sort of thing. Oh, you might want to stay out of Lumen for a night or two. Or a week. Had a small accident. I’ll fix it. Lita attached that with the message before hitting send and waited to see if Blake would take the bait.

Blake Stirring ever so slightly, Blake reached out for his phone even as his eyes remained locked on the computer screen in front of him. It wasn’t every day that he actually found a computer system that posed to be a challenge to him. He could have accomplished the task quite easily had he simply connected to the system with his mind (as it seemed most that could do such a thing would do) but that removed all of the challenge. Simply thinking of an action and having it carried out removed the true artistry of what it was he prided himself on. It was the flourish of the keystrokes, the sound of each finger tapping against the intended key...hell, in Blake’s mind it was almost like it was all part of some well choreographed play, then again he was known to have a fair bit of an ego when it came to the skills he had worked to master. Perhaps that was the single word that had gone to his head….’master’. Perhaps he had let his expertise trick him into thinking that there was no one better than him even though Blake knew for a fact that there were.

Taking a moment to pause in his grand symphony of digital theft, those ice blue eyes scanned the screen of his phone. This time he didn’t waste a moment with typing out a response. The text he sent back was fully formed and sent almost instantaneously. On Adelita’s end it would seem as if she had received a text message but instead the letters would appear one by one as if ‘Lita were typing them out herself.

What did you do to Lumen? And you should know better than to ask me about wanting to see. I always want to see. Third floor, secret wall on left when you come out of the lift. The door will be open.

Even though there was a slight hint of worry in his mind about what the woman had done to his precious Lumen he couldn’t smell any smoke and none of the alarms were going off so he assumed that the building wasn’t on fire nor did she blow it up. Those he would know about given he was sitting on the third floor in his office. He had an obligation to be on hand if his students needed anything after all and given that Xylia had a direct line to him and ‘Lita spent most of her time downstairs anyways it wasn’t really all that difficult to mask his presence and keep an eye on things from a few floors above everything. Besides, with all the cameras he had hidden in corners and above doorways if he really wanted to know what ‘Lita had done he could in a matter of moments. Hearing her tell him though? Oh that was going to be so much more amusing to him.

With a wicked sort of grin he zeroed out his hack and sat back in the large overstuffed armchair that sat behind a simple desk of black tempered glass and simply began to wait. It shouldn’t take too long...he hoped.

< Adelita > The first thought that popped into Lita’s mind when she got his reply was, great. Her phone was loading slowly, one letter at a time. It was possible, Adelita had dropped the phone a couple times during some of her bar hopping scenes with Whinny that something was wrong with it, and if that was the case it was as unfortunate as it was annoying. In the end the message appeared, albeit slowly, and was the reply the Mexican woman was looking for. Sort of. Lita had to come to him, come back to Lumen, the very building she damaged, to be exact. The place she wanted the both of them to avoid until the hole in the wall was no longer a hole in the wall.

Adelita didn’t bother replying to the message because it seemed Blake wanted to know more about the bad news than what could be good news, which would ruin everyone’s night. She would tell him, but only face to face and after she showed Blake the shiny new coin in her possession.

Thankfully, Lita wasn’t too far away from Lumen; just at a shop in the Bullwood area. Adelita was cautious of the guy who worked in the shop at Lumen, still positive he short changed her that one time a couple weeks ago. Twenty or so minutes later, with the coin clutched tightly in her left hand, Lita showed up at Lumen’s doorstep, pushed the doors open and avoided looking anywhere near the hole in the wall that she had made.

Narrow eyes glared at the guy in the shop as Lita moved towards the elevator, called it to the main floor and took it to the third floor. She had been on the other floors before, natural curiosity and all, but had never actually seen anyone roaming around. Which probably meant Adelita shouldn’t be traipsing around, but a girl liked some alone time and vacant empty floors provided it.

The elevator opened to the third floor and this time it appeared to be a little different. Even if it wasn’t. Adelita hadn’t seen or found a secret passage the first time before, so now it invoked a little more appeal to the floor and the others. What would she find on the other floors if Adelita looked hard enough? The Mexican woman would find out sooner than later.

She took the passage to the left and found the open door. Shame, Adelita could imagine him doing something slightly unsavory (in most people’s eyes) behind closed doors and even slightly imagined it as she saw him sitting at a desk. The dark haired woman smiled in his direction when he finally came to notice her, and then perched herself in a chair across from his desk.

Lita could trust Blake with the coin she retained, right? It was difficult to say, because Adelita didn’t actually know anything more about him than she did the one night they talked, but taking her chances she carefully set the coin on the edge of the desk closest to her. “I found it-” Lita sat back in the chair, her eyes still on the coin on the desk. “The woman I almost sold it to said it was unique. Other than that, she wasn’t overly helpful. Have you ever seen anything like it before?” She scooted to the edge of the seat just a little bit more, ready to take it back if he made a move she didn’t like. A move to take it for himself. “Oh, and do you have a number for someone who does drywall and plastering? There’s a teeny, tiny hole in one of your walls.” Lita’s smile didn’t waver as she said that, though a hand came out towards the coin and pushed it just a smidge closer to Blake, but not so close that she couldn’t grab it in a hurry.

Blake Waking himself from his lull, Blake shut off the monitor in front of him. No need for her to see the teacher’s projects and work after all, he already had one student looking for leeway and he’d be damned if he would have a second student that already knew what was coming up. The surprise, after all, was what made it all what it was...how was anyone supposed to learn anything if they already knew everything Blake had to teach them?

Looking up from the computer in front of him he returned Adelita’s smile. Looking her over he made sure to reprimand himself for the thoughts that drifted through his mind. He was simply lucky he had managed to learn to control the image telepathy he had learned months ago from….someone he’d rather not think about. It was bad enough when he had first realized he had the ability that he had sent mental images to the wrong people on several occasions that had led to some….less than comfortable explanations. The last thing he needed that moment was for yet another image to slip from his mind and into Adelita’s.

Immediately though such thoughts vanished as his eyes settled upon the coin she had placed on his desk. Slightly larger than any form of currency it had an old look to it and, to him at least, seemed to radiate some kind of odd energy. It was just like the myriad of items that rested on his person at that exact moment. From the multitude of rings (that ranged from incredibly simple to overly elegant), to the amulets that his button down shirt hid from view and even to a few other knick-knacks he had hidden all over his person. It was most definitely what his kind had come to call ‘relics’ and now was as good a time as any to teach his favorite student about them.

“I believe, if my memory serves correctly that what you found is known by some as an ‘Enchanted Coin’. Supposedly it bestows good luck on whomever holds it in their possession. It is one of a myriad of relics that our kind have discovered in the city actually and the shops really don’t know what they are if truth be told hence why you were offered such a piddly amount I suspect.”

He paused, his voice soft and contemplative as he removed one of his rings and placed it on the glass top desk right beside her coin. It was a normal looking band of metal and yet something about it radiated that same kind of power, the kind that could make your hair stand on end and make you incredibly hypersensitive to almost everything. This was the power that emanated from both ring and coin as they sat side by side.

“This is another one of those relics. Both of them incredibly rare and made by an unknown force. Yours, as I said, brings luck to it’s owner. The ring on the other hand, burns fiercely when someone is approaching you with hostile intent. There are, at the moment over two dozen different relics in the city that I know of and of those different types there are plethora of each still few enough to make them highly coveted. Your coin and my ring, for instance? Two of the more rare relics. Another though? One we call a ‘Ring of Crafter’s Instinct’ can be bought from the more magically inclined shops for a moderate amount and that one prevents your parts from every truly breaking when you try to build something.”

It was no accident that he mentioned that specific relic to her ...nor was it an accident that he had risen from his seat and begun to circle the table as he talked until he was standing directly behind her. A single hand resting lightly on her shoulder as he finished speaking.

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

< Adelita > She listened and then almost snorted when he mentioned how this coin was supposed to bring her good luck. Luck was not something Adelita had a lot of and doubted this coin would change that fact any time soon, or ever. But, she remained silent and listened to what Blake had to say because maybe he would tell her something Lita could use. And he did, not surprisingly enough.

The coin was called a relic and it was a good thing she didn’t sell it to the woman in the shop. Adelita could probably get a lot of money for it if she sold it to the right person at the right time. Brown eyes watched as the male removed some of his ‘swag’ from his finger and place it next to her coin. Lita’s eyes focused on both objects, mainly her coin, to make sure Blake didn’t touch it. And he hadn’t.

There was a ring of crafting, which was another useful piece of information Blake shared with Adelita. She probably would have known that by now if Adelita actually spent more than five seconds in a shop, selling things she retained in various instances, but was hell bent on making money, not necessarily spending it.

His close proximity and hand placement didn’t go unnoticed, but Adelita didn’t move it, or move too much. Maybe just a tad, so his hand might slip just a little and go off her shoulder and find a lower placement before the guy fixed where his hand rested once again. Ooops. Silly accidents.

“I wonder what I could sell it for on the auctions.” Adelita thought aloud as she crossed her legs on the chair Blake was still behind. “Everybody could use a little luck, right?” Adelita could, but she seemed to have the misfortune of having not a single drop of good karma behind her. Her misfortune could turn into a fortune though, with this coin. Cold, hard cash was better than keeping a coin around that didn’t do a single thing. “What would you pay for something like this, if you don’t already have one?” Lita finally took her eyes off the contents on the table, leaned back in the chair and tipped her head back slightly to look up at Blake.

Blake Silly accidents indeed. His hand slipped ever so slightly for the briefest of moments, a touch that was as quick and as seemingly accidental and innocent as could be but regardless of how Blake may have tried to play it off it was obvious that that simple ‘accidental’ touch lingered longer than it should have. It lingered in such a way that Blake couldn’t help but to grin as he looked down at the woman sitting in front of him with his back to her. Adelita. ‘Lita. His student. In such a short amount of time he had come to respect the small and young vampire far more than most people he knew save for those that he considered family.

Taking his time in returning to his chair he gave the slightest of smiles. She made an interesting proposition what with her thought to put the coin up for auction. A smart man would keep an eye on her and perhaps use his position to try and find out when the coin would go up for auction and even suggest a price. Blake, however, was more than a smart man. He was a wise man. He would wheel and deal and, hopefully, he would own that very same coin by the end of the night. Taking a seat he gave a soft and thoughtful sigh and he drummed his fingers lightly upon the glass top of the desk. He was, after all, wise but that didn’t mean he was going to take advantage of one of his students.

“That all depends on how much value you put in that little coin of yours. I’m pretty flexible when it comes to acquiring things that catch my eye. I guess the real answer is….what is it exactly you’re looking for in terms of payment? Maybe once we establish that part we can get to the more intricate details?”

He realized only too late the suggestive manner of his words and so badly wanted to bury his face in his hand. Was he really going to start having thoughts about poor, sweet, ‘Lita? No...no he couldn’t. It would just….complicate things. It was too soon. Or was it? What was he really hiding from? What was he really scared of? Hurting people? That gave him pause for a moment. Even as he sat there with a smile on his face he couldn’t help but wonder just what would happen if he even accidently hurt ‘Lita in any way. It wasn’t so much that he cared what others thought but more..what he thought of himself. It was already becoming harder each and every day to not simply...sever ties and become the cold emotionless creature that legends and sagas spoke of when it came to immortals. Each day it became a little harder but when he sat and thought and about it; Vel, Tytonidae, Andras….Adelita. Each one was a reason he was, for lack of a better term, still human.

< Adelita > Lita had been speaking in hypotheticals, but it was a good piece of information to know that Blake was interested in the coin on the desk. Her eyes looked at the coin, knowing full well that it meant squat to her. She could have it for months or years and it wouldn’t do anything but sit on a surface somewhere in her apartment. And while she...enjoyed Blake’s company, she wasn’t going to screw herself over either. Not when she might be able to make a pretty penny off her rare and fortuitous find.

Was it her own, slightly perverse mind that took Blake’s words as something...more? Or did he actually mean something suggestive? What was she looking for in payment? Her lips quirked into a salacious grin as she let her thoughts go from dirty, vulgar thoughts of sitting in that high back chair on Blake’s lap (more or less) to finding her way under the expensive desk of Blake’s. Tsk, Lita. The Mexican woman silently scolded herself. While she would more than enjoy both those things, Adelita was supposed to be profiting from her find singularly; and Lita was more than confident to say that both she and Blake would enjoy both those scenarios. Focus, Lita. What did she need, desperately? Money, yes. Lots of it. And Blake appeared to have a lot of it. Not that she wanted his money, but he apparently knew how to make it and she needed to learn how to make it. And quick too. The whole saying give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime applied to her train of thought.

Lita reached for the coin, but didn’t pick it up. Instead, the woman pushed it towards Blake, eyes on him now. “I need money.” She started out, letting him believe that she was going to give it to him for a price. “And you know how to make it.” The coin was let go from the confines of her fingertips when it was nestled against his own that had been drumming on the desk’s surface. “I would like for you to teach me how to be successful in making it. That would require some of your knowledge and...personal time.” The woman raised a leg and crossed it over the other as her hands came to rest on the arms of the chair she occupied, her eyes perhaps suggesting something lecherous in nature at the prospect of private time with the male sitting behind the desk.

Blake Snatching up the coin between two fingers he smiled at the request that Adelita had made of him. He was sure there was an ulterior motive given how the request was phrased and he wasn’t about to question Adelita as to what she had in mind. Knowing her and what he knew of her it was more than likely something along the same lines of where his thoughts tended to drift to when the two of them were alone in a private place...much like they were now. She was a wicked wicked woman for sure but being who he was Blake was never one to turn down a little damnation every now and then. Sin and wickedness, in his life at least, seemed to walk hand in hand more often than not and who was he to deny himself such a treat?

Grinning wickedly as the coin ran along his fingers with incredible dexterity he looked at Adelita for a moment as if contemplating her request. He would, of course, grant it but it never hurt to let a little anticipation work it’s way into things. Especially given what he was pretty sure he was agreeing to without really acknowledging what it was that he was actually agreeing to.

“I can work with this. We can start whenever you wish. I have a few ideas on how to solve your little problem. It’s going to be….interesting to say the least but I have a feeling you’ll handle it just fine.”

He grinned once more as he continued to roll the coin between his fingers. His eyes didn’t leave her once as he waited to see what direction their little verbal spar would go in. It amused Blake greatly to be able to have such a double conversation with someone so young and yet obviously intelligent and this only gave him more cause to continue with something that most people would probably see as wrong. She was, after all, a student but, alas, Blake found himself with no fucks to give when it came to the thoughts of others lately. Besides, if anything, those he did care about would probably only encourage him in this wicked little game of his.

< Adelita > Once the coin was snatched up, Lita believed she had her answer, even if Blake was taking his sweet time in vocalizing it. She could be patient enough, to some degree, if she wanted something badly enough. And there were two things in the room she wanted badly. One, she had expressed in subtle ways more than once tonight, the other, spoken about rather candidly.

Finally, his verbal vocalization came through and Lita smiled, watching the coin being maneuvered through Blake’s fingertips. She should slap herself for all the things she began to wonder about his hands, and more specifically his fingers as the coin rolled across them effortlessly. Instead, Lita uncrossed her legs, and placed one foot on top the other, and pushed down on her foot, reminding herself to behave, even if it was so very, very hard to.
She wanted to start solving one of her many little problems, right here, right now, but patience, right? Lita had a business to run and see become successful for many reasons and that should be her first focus. Lita could try to be patient until they sorted out the nitty gritty details of her major problem. Hard work for hard play, or something like that, right?

Still, the Mexican woman couldn't resist letting the conversation be all work and no play. It just wasn't in Adelita's nature. “Interesting....is what I'm hoping for. I hope you have no qualms about late nights.” Lita's eyes moved to his face and off the coin before the dark haired woman finally decided to speak without innuendos and underlying suggestive tones. “Are you free tomorrow night?” Okay, so maybe not without lack of suggestiveness. It had meant to be straight to the point, but could be alluded as something else completely. “Do I need to bring anything for these very promising and interesting lessons?” Her foot pressed down on the other one as Lita's eyes moved off Blake. To her, it might be easier to behave if she wasn't looking at him, or those very talented fingers of his. “A notebook, maybe?” There, she could behave every few seconds.

Blake “A notebook, yes. Maybe that would be a good idea.”

He mused over the idea of things for her to bring. That was such an open ended question that he could give oh so many answers to but, for now, he would behave. A slight pinch to his leg to keep himself in line as he pushed to all too inappropriate thoughts from his mind. Business first. Always business first and if there was one thing Blake knew all there was to know about it was business. Well...that and rituals. Oddly enough Blake had been a master ritualist in his past when the tomes were first discovered just as he has been a master business man when the opportunity had first presented itself.

“Tomorrow night then, yes. I’ll share all my little secrets with you. Veil, and how it became as successful as it is and then every other little thing your mind wants to know….I’ll try and answer it all. Might take more than just a single night but that isn’t going to be a problem is it?”

He smiled once more as he rose to his feet and slipped the coin into his pocket. He knew that if she stayed any longer things were going to get far more...complicated and while that didn’t exactly worry him he knew it wasn’t...oh what did he care, really? There was nothing truly holding him back in he were going to be honest with himself. Nothing that said he shouldn’t. Grinning at ‘Lita he would make his way around the desk and extend his hand to her. The look in his eyes would say enough...that simple look would speak volumes as he waited for her to take his hand. It was now or, knowing them both, tomorrow. She would either leave or...not. The choice was hers and hers alone to make now.

< Adelita > She wondered if Blake realized how broad his statement was, with the sharing of secrets and such. Most people would probably attempt to take advantage of that statement, and she might too. Nothing too drastic or damaging to his character, but more along the lines of what things kept Blake’s interest in the bed, couch, shower, desk and anywhere else in any room in any place. Lita shook her head at his question, internally pleased that this venture will take more than one or two nights in both their eyes. “No es un problema. Not a problem.” She spoke over her Spanish, as Adelita took the offered hand and came to her feet. “I think anything you have to say and share is more important than anything else I would be doing in the nights to come.” True in two aspects in Lita’s mind.

Lita was at a crossroad. She recognized the look in Blake’s eyes as she stood in front of him, looking up at him. It was one that probably matched her own in more ways than one. Should she behave and leave, or should she stay and misbehave? The latter sounded far more appealing than the former, truth be told. Besides there was no reason she couldn’t have fun tonight and tomorrow night, right? Silly crossroads. “I’ll see you, here. Tomorrow.” A left hand found its way to his chest and ran over the fabric of it as she smoothed it down. It wasn’t wrinkly or anything, but it did give her ample opportunity to feel what she wanted to see and feel and all sorts of other things for hopefully a later date. Maybe tomorrow. Oh, who was she kidding. Lita wanted more than a feel tonight and she was going to chance it. Both hands were placed on Blake’s chest as her hands tightened around the lapels of his suit coat as she pulled herself up on her tiptoes so that they were lip to lip without actually touching. “Just a taste.” She said softly before Lita pressed her lips to Blake, and then bit down on his lower lip. It was a short kiss, that couldn't actually be classified as a kiss. More as something primal and lustful before she released his lapels and lower lip, turned and headed towards the door. The Mexican woman called over her shoulder, “See you tomorrow, handsome.” Lita blew Blake a kiss with her right hand before leaving his office and closing the door behind her.
