Re: Nifty ways to get Experience on your character
I believe it's 20 experience per anima. The wiki only lists the experience from before second tier powers were introduced, so it won't be showing the experience for any tier one powers that cost less anima to use than their tier one counterparts.

Hrmm totally wish I'd known that before I bought Enter Shadows T2! *cries pitifully*
But good to know. I wonder if I'll remember it longer than a hot minute >.>

Yeah, I remember saying most of the wiki power exp costs are wrong and that it's a flat rate of 20 exp per anima used (maximum - combat powers give less).

Re: Nifty ways to get Experience on your character
I don't know if this would work, does anyone? I know nothing about Sorcerers.
Char-1: Vampire with Hacking 20, T2 Technokinesis, T2 Summon Spirit, 15 Healing
Char-2: Sorcerer with T2 Vital Force
Location: Lair with place-able Shop and ATM
- Char-1 does 5 Evi Hacks to turn 20 energy into (roughly) 200 EXP.
- Char-2 turns 6 of Char-1's Anima into 20 energy.
- Char-1 summons 6 Spirits for 12 Blood and eats them to replace the Anima
- Char-1 drops ATM, withdraws $2400, picks up ATM
- Char-1 drops Shop, buys 12 blood packs, picks up shop
- Repeat ad nauseum
Net energy loss: 0
Net anima loss: 0
Anima against cap: 0
Net cash loss: $2400
Net EXP gain: 200
Turn $500k into 41k EXP?

There's also this now, too.

This bonus can only be gained for one character per day (the one you are signed in as IN GAME), and is given once you click to vote on the 4th topsite.
If you plan on voting for Path, you have our thanks, as it will help us grow much more rapidly if enough people vote for us daily. More topsites will be added soon, as well as an affiliates board. We have many things in the works to bring in newbies, so stay tuned.

Re: Nifty ways to get Experience on your character
Anyone got a suggestion for a new pure-blood humans?.
I was pondering on hunting in the sewer/quarantine zone.. but i can't even find the entrance :) so for now my dear Rhyven is running around blindly exploring. .but alas i'm not exactly going anywhere on the experience and $ part..
I've heard hacking.. but i'm not sure.. do we stick to your characthers defined actions on the grid or not..
Rhy wouldnt be much of a hacker, and only activites that give experience seems illegal based (theft, robbery etc).
Which leaves me to ponder on the path on the grid to take :)
Thanks for any tips or suggestions.

Re: Nifty ways to get Experience on your character
A pretty good way of getting EXP for newbies, regardless of starting point, are things that give exp without taking a lot of stats into consideration, because stats are what hold newbies back for the most part.Rhyven wrote:Anyone got a suggestion for a new pure-blood humans?.

1) Daily Topsite Voting: At the bottom of the forum page, there is a link to topsites. Vote on them daily and it's basically free exp.
2. RPP: Experience for roleplaying. I believe exchanging RPP is covered in the tutorial, if not, you can shoot me a PM to discuss. I'd suggest hitting up the available RP partners thread, or poking people in the OOC chats, or just tossing up an open thread. As you exchange more RPP, you'll get a better exchange rate, which means you get more exp for the same amount of RPP.
3. Rest in daylight: I believe this feature is still active, where humans get exp at sun up (8 AM EST) if they are resting outside. If that feature's not still active, I'm sure someone will let you know.
4. Weekly FB shares: Weekly, you can hit the share button on FB, if your character does something like kill an NPC or complete a hack. By doing this, you get free exp, and you get the site's name out there.
5. Stay in the Tutorial: Even though you may have completed the tutorial, it's a great place for lower leveling because it's got a bunch of zombies in one small area. You can stay there till level ten, and practice the basics of the different skills, such as rituals and hacking while you try to decide how you want to stat your character. You can get back to there from any station, for which there is probably a map lying around somewhere (possibly on the Wiki).
6. Stat placement: Decide early on how you want your character's stats to go, because changing them will cost you real life cash. Especially with a pure human, the early development is super important because they level much more slowly than either vampires or pathed humans. I'd suggest talking to someone in the OOC chat about stats, and skills, because they can be confusing. Early on, I would focus on Dexterity (to be good at taking down NPCs, and because it helps with several other things in the game), Stamina (because the more energy you have and the more energy you regenerate per hour, the more exp you make), and either Martial Arts (melee attack) or Fire Arms (gun attacks). Of the last two, Fire Arms is probably better early on because it takes range into account, and is usually more accurate than melee fighting.
If you need better weapons, make friends. Usually people are pretty nice about helping new people, and you'll probably get some nifty gear just by being nice, and sociable.
As for your character being a thief, it sounds like you'll want them to be good at B&E, which is a tad bit complicated early on, but pretty fun once you get the hang of it (I maintain it's the most interesting mini-game). I'd worry about statting for that later on, once you have a better grasp on the basics.
I'LL USE YOU AS A WARNING SIGN THAT IF YOU TALK ENOUGH SENSE THEN YOU'LL LOSE YOUR MIND

Althrought i think i made you misunderstand about the thief part :) I was more or less saying my characther won't partake in illegal activites (which all seem to give experence)... He's a former SWAT employee now working with private security or bodyguard jobs... so i was a bit puzzled on what activites can be done to aquire experience while still holding onto the "legal" methods.
I know the game is senteret around vampires and thus most activites would naturally align with such.. it would be nice to being able to hire yourself out to different npc jobs or other activites that might generate profit.
I do slightly regret leaving the tutorial zone now as i finished the tutorial.. but nonetheless i've begun voting on the top sites since yesterday alright and its a excellent method to both get something for the site, and something to help out the players :).

My bad! That's what I get for replying to things before coffee.

Anyway, there are plenty of legal options for humans:
1) Killing undead NPCs, gangsters (you can probably RP it as your character fighting them and taking them into custody if he's pure good aligned).
2) White hat hacking (though that may not be suitable for former SWAT).
3) Rituals is pretty neutral (though again, may not be suitable for former SWAT).
4) Owning a business, and keeping it strictly legal.
4) Really you'd just want to avoid: B&E, stealing, sabotaging businesses etc.
You can also go back to the Tutorial from any of the stations, which are the black squares. On the drop down "Tutorial Hub" should be on the list until you hit level 10.
