--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
* Jaxon sat on the bench at a bus-stop, safely hidden from the rain beneath the cover of bus-stop roof. He dumped his messenger bag onto the bench beside himself as he fiddled with his phone, shooting a text to Whit.* Yasu muttered an oath, ignoring the haunted laughter around him as his foot hit another patch of slush, sending him sideways on the ground for the third time today. Soaked and frozen to the bone, all he really wanted to do was get back to his shop and curl up by the heater with one of the new books he'd purchased. Even inventory would be favorable over this. Shivering, he pushed to his feet again, wrapping his arms tight as if they might stave off a little of the chill. Looking very much like a drowned rat, hair sticking to his face and coat askew on his shoulders, half unzipped, the male too cold to care at this point. Water dug into his runners, biting against his frozen flesh.
* Jaxon squinted at his phone expectantly for a few moments before the sound of someone falling drew his attention away. He lifted his gaze, peering out into the rain curiously. Eyes widened at the familiar frame, although the man looked worse for wear, and Jax tucked his phone back into his pocket as he stood and dodged back onto the street. "Jack! Hey Jack, are you okay?" He waved both arms over his head with exaggeration.
* Yasu was rather numb, teeth chattering, and so it took him nearly a full minute to realize Jaxon was there, calling him by that odd little nickname he favored. Yasu opened and shut his mouth, struggling to bite a few words out against the chill. In the end, he settled for a shaky nod, sniffing quietly.
* Jaxon frowned as he neared the man, slowing to a halt near him. "How long you been out in the rain?" He asked, and wished not for the first time that he had an umbrella. Hadn't Jack had one before? Maybe he left it behind. "Lets get you home."
* Yasu muttered something that sounded like "an hour or so" in answer to Jaxons question, pressing a sleeve covered hand to his face in an effort to warm his mouth and nose. Glancing at the other male, he nodded shortly.
* Jaxon gave a half-smile of encouragement and walked alongside the man to accompany him. "Almost there, now." He offered a little lamely, wiping the water from his face pointlessly.
* Yasu couldn't help a slight snort at the comment, followed by a sideways glance and a flimsy smile. "H- how have you...been?" he offered up, tightening his jaw to try and stem the tremble in his voice from the chill.
* Jaxon adjusted the strap of his bag on his shoulder, humming a sound under his breath because he didn't much care for silence. "Oh. I've been good. Still getting myself into trouble, I guess." He flashed a smile, unrepentant and a little mischievous, and nudged his shoulder to Jack's affectionately. "Maybe you can go on another adventure with me, sometime."
* Yasu couldn't help but relax a little, even forgetting about the chill somewhat. "That much e-excitement again? I don't know if my old h- heart can take it..." A lame joke slid into the air as he redirected his gaze forward again.
* Jaxon looked around as they neared the mans shop, lips pursing. "I dunno, you seemed to handle things pretty well, actually. Was nice to have some backup when things got crazy." He admitted, rubbing a hand against the back of his own neck.
* Yasu shrugged offhandedly, his smile fading. "Not really. I never expected... something like that.." he admitted quietly. "It shouldn't have been so surprising... seeing the dead alive... nothing I haven't seen before. Just not in that way.." He shook his head with a sharp shiver, digging around for his key. Pulling it out, he sighed in relief at the sight of it, rubbing the side of his neck absent mindedly before going to unlock the door. "Would you like to come in, or do you need to get going? Thanks, by the way..."
* Jaxon hadn't felt his phone buzz in response so he shrugged and gave another smile. "I can come in, make sure you get warmed up." He chuckled and nodded, huddling a little closer to the door as a cold wind cut through them.
* Yasu nudged the door open, flicking a light on. Pausing in the door, he seemed to take a long, searching look around before snapping back to reality and slipping inside. "Just me? You must be cold as well, right?"
* Jaxon stepped in after the man, sliding his bag of his shoulder to let it land on the floor near the door. "Yeah. It's super chilly out. For some reason I was hoping spring would bring warmth." He admitted as he unzipped his windbreaker.
* Yasu let the door close, removing his coat, shoes, and sodden socks and leaving them on a hanger and by the door to drip dry. He took a brief moment to dig his bare feet into the carpet, enjoying the warmth before padding over to the small kitchen. "Seems like the seasons are changing. Soon we'll be celebrating christmas on the beach and easter in an igloo," he called over his shoulder, setting a kettle on the stove and fetching mugs. "Tea? Coffee? Hot chocolate?"
* Jaxon took the chance to wander around the mans little home, plucking up random books to inspect the titles and flip through the pages. "Cocoa sounds great!" He called back with a flashed small smile.
* Yasu set to work with a faint noise of confirmation, the light clatter of utensils filling the air. "So, you've shown me the undead. Anything else of that caliber you've yet to share?" he asked with a tinge of curiousity.
