Re: SPF 10000 (open)
Feeling beyond embarrassed, Astrid wanted badly to crawl up under the table to hide. She had no idea why she would have blown chunks like that. It wasn't like her, she was one of those people that everyone envied; the ones that never got sick. In fact, many jokes had been made about her having an iron stomach. So this sensation she was feeling was something foreign to her and she didn’t like it.
"Yes please, and could you get me glass of water?" Water seemed like a good solution. She could wash out her mouth a little. Oh gawd! Her breath must be horrid, now.
Astrid closed her eyes for a second and when she opened them back up, one of the barrista's had already taken it upon themselves to bring over a bucket and mop. This only embarrassed her more, there may as well had been an announcement of "clean up on aisle 9."
“Let me get it.” Astrid stood and tried to reach for the mop, the barista handed it over to her.
As she pushed the mop around, she could feel the tightening of her stomach. Yeah, she definitely needed a glass of water.

He was prompt in doing as she asked, asking for the water over the counter before setting off on his own to get the napkins. By the time he had a nice big handful of them, the cup of water was waiting for him. He nodded his thanks, taking it in his free hand, before scurrying back to their table. He set the napkins down, reaching one hand out to her with the water.
"Here," He murmured, now watching what she was doing. Did she... take the mop from the barista? No matter. Perhaps she was simply the type to clean up her own messes. She would not be the first to feel that way. Still, that did not mean he was unwilling to help, himself. He had retrieved the water for her, but he would start to take the napkins to clean the surface of the table, at least somewhat. It would likely need a more thorough cleaning later, but that would not be a job for the two of them. The employees could handle that much.
"Do you need anything else?" Anton asked gently. "Are you okay here? Do you need to lay down for a while? I need to get to work in a half hour or so, but my apartment is just down a block or two. You could crash there until I'm back." In spite of the generous offer... was he really that gullible? Who would let a near complete stranger stay alone in their home? The offer seemed honest and genuine, however. If he carried a trusting nature... it would be almost doubtlessly to a fault.

Re: SPF 10000 (open)
When Astrid saw Anton wiping up the spewed coffee, she thought she was going to die. Knowing that he was probably just trying to be helpful, she closed her eyes tightly and swallowed down her pride. "Thanks." She nodded toward him.
After she got up what she could, off the floor, she handed the mop and bucket back over to the waiting employee. The guy finished up cleaning the mess, along with wiping the table down with some clorox spray and wiping it with a cloth. She moved over closer to where Anton was standing and holding out a glass of water to her.
Thankful for the water, Astrid reached out and took the offered drink from Anton. The tips of her fingers lightly brushed against his as the glass moved from his hand to hers. She held the glass in her hand while she listened to him talk.
Astrid had shaken her head to his first question, which was if she needed anything else. What he said next, was a bit more puzzling to her. Was he offering her to stay at his place? If her eyes didn't give away her surprised feeling that a stranger would offer her a place to stay, then she was better and hiding her feelings then she would have ever thought. Before she answered the question, she brought the glass to her lips and started to gulp down the chilled water.
Setting the empty glass down on the now freshly cleaned table, she was just about to respectfully decline his offer, when without any warning, the water she had just finished came spewing from her nose and mouth. This time she didn’t have the luxury of a warning that it was coming, like she did with the coffee. Anton was directly in its path.

Re: SPF 10000 (open)
...Okay. That was not what he expected to happen. He barely had time to look up to see her face... when a new torrent of regurgitation came spewing out. This time, it was headed straight for him. He managed to close his eyes, but there was no hope of dodging the spurt of water and... whatever else was brought up with it, along the way. It splattered over his face, his neck, his collarbone and shirt. It took almost all of his willpower not to bear a look of sheer revulsion. Luckily, he managed to refrain, trying to keep composure... more for her sake, than his own. He did not want her to be any more embarrassed than she already doubtless was.
"Astrid, I... Do you want me to call an ambulance? This... this isn't normal." He began to carefully wipe regurgitation off of his face, especially from the area around his lips. A chill ran down his spine, as he tried not to think about what in the hell just happened. The less he thought, the less it would matter. Besides, she could not help it. What happened, happened. No sense in causing even more of a fuss.

Re: SPF 10000 (open)
"Oh my god!" Astrid stood there and stared at the soaked Anton. She quickly started to grab all of the napkins that she could see that were within their vicinity. "I am so sorry." Her apology was cut off with a burp. Astrid raised her hand to her mouth and her pleading blue eyes locked with the concerned glare of Anton's. There was no way she was going to puke on him again. Astrid swallowed hard and waited for the feeling to leave her.
Anton asked her if she needed an ambulance and had pointed out the fact that her puking wasn't normal. No, it wasn't ******* normal, nothing about her life in the last couple of days had been normal. She wanted to just cry and scream. Had Alex told her
anything about puking? She racked her brain, trying to remember. Nothing.
"No I don't need an ambulance...I." Her voice cracked a little. Instead of running away, Astrid started to do the best she could to help clean him up. She dabbed and wiped at his face and neck. "I...Did you say you lived close by?" God she hoped he did.
The thought of him having to go very far covered in her puke made her cringe a bit.
"I think I need to just, sit for a bit..." Astrid knew she was in a pickle, being she couldn't leave the coffee shop without burning up again. "I am really sorry. I insist on...hell...I really don't have anything but my apology."
Astrid slid down into a nearby chair, ignoring all of the stares and hushed whispers.

Re: SPF 10000 (open)
His lips thinned and stretched into a frown, perhaps the first time they had done so all day. He did not seem pleased by her declining the ambulance. Nobody instantaneously vomits like that, let alone twice, without needing medical attention. Still, it was not his call to make. What was his call, however, was getting himself cleaned up. And that was high on his priority list. Puke-covered clothes would not be appreciated by his employers... nor himself, obviously.
"Yeah, like I said, my place is just a block or two down," He answered. He paused a moment, before adding, "Listen, I really need to get home to change, but... I'm not all that comfortable leaving you here like this, either. You need to get somewhere to lay down, take it easy. I might have something in my medicine cabinet to help your stomach, if you think it'll help. But I really don't think you should just stay here and wait for it to happen again."
By now, between the two of them both cleaning him up, at least his skin was wiped clean. Well. It is doubtful he was clean. But not sopping wet anymore. It was an improvement, all said and done. His clothes... were still rather damp, however. Personally, he did his best not to think about it.

Re: SPF 10000 (open)
His voice was loud enough, but it didn't register any more than the rest of the background noise that was buzzing around her, at a steady hum. Astrid's stare diverted from the concerned looks of Anton and his moving lips, taking in the numbers on the clock. It was only 9 a.m. and she knew that the Sun would be burning brightly. Her spine stiffened at the mere memory of the last time she had seen sunlight. That was something she did not want to repeat; ever.
Her eyes returned to Anton's lips and quickly panned out to the rest of his attractive features. At the moment she started listening, again. The last words from his lips were about not staying there and waiting for her to puke again. She couldn't had agreed with him more.
"Alex!" Astrid's solution spilled from her lips, at the same time that the thought occurred. Her pouted lips lifted in the corners and formed a smile. She quickly opened her bag and started rummaging through it's contents for the cellphone that her sire had given her. Pulling it out, she had a look on her face, as if she had caught the Golden Snitch.
Before Anton could object, she hurriedly spoke up, “I am honestly feeling better, I am going to call my Si...sister, and see if she can just swing by and pick me up. Thank you again for your offer and I am so sorry for…” She didn’t say throwing up on you, instead she just kinda nodded toward him. It would have been easy for him to conclude what she was sorry for.
Without letting him say anything else, she swooped through the cafe and went straight to the bathroom with her phone in hand. Shutting the stall door, she leaned back against it and quickly called Alex. Within moments of explaining the situation to her, she was summoned by her sire.
The stall around her evaporated and in a matter of a second, she was standing in the livingroom of one of Alex’s flats. Just as she started to take a step forward, she remembered that she had left the watch, she had found earlier, behind on the table. Maybe Anton would find it. Oh well, she didn’t need some watch that she had taken off a thief, anyway.

Re: SPF 10000 (open)
She seemed to be moving so fast, all of a sudden. Almost... like she was trying to escape. Perhaps it was to be expected. After all, one does not exactly feel comfortable after hurling twice, much less in public, and less still when one of those times was on a near complete stranger. He had to admit, in spite of being the victim of one such... upheaval, he felt quite badly for her. This must have been mortifying. He wished he could do more to help, he truly did.
And then, in but the blink of an eye, Astrid begun to scurry off. Something about her sister? He did not even have time to try and interrupt, merely nod like an idiot. He nodded a second time at her apology, opening his mouth to speak a second time, but by then, she was already moving away. He was left... more or less gawking, puke-covered, and the center of attention for the rest of the cafe. Oh yes, people were staring. He looked around slightly, now feeling embarrassed himself. This was... not exactly good publicity. Still, he gave a nervous little laugh, and an almost apologetic shrug, before reaching down to grab his things.
It was then that he noticed the watch. It certainly was not his. Had she left it there? For all his observations of her, he had not noticed it, before then. He took it in his palm, and briefly looked back to the bathroom. She had just run in there, hadn't she? Should he wait for her? His gaze slipped down to look at his shirt. He could still feel the moisture on it. That thought send a shudder through his spine, from base to tip. No, he needed to get home. She said she would be coming back here one day, didn't she? Yes, he would simply give it to her next time he saw her. Surely it would not be too long.
With that thought in mind, he slipped it into his pocket, and began hurrying out, stripping off his shirt but moments after getting out the door. He had no intention of wearing that a single second longer than he needed to.
